    Another tip if you think you're being followed, especially here in Europe, is to do multiple laps in a roundabout. You will look like a bit of a dork, but if someone is still behind you after two or three laps, they're up to something fishy.

    What i've heard recently is carjackers put a plastic bottle or something insignificant between the front right wheel arch and the wheel. You go back to your car in the parking lot, start going, and you'll hear some noise from the front right. You stop, just hop out to see what that was, but since it's just a "hop out", people usually leave the keys in, not even stopping the engine.

      or if you carry basic tools in your car for breakdowns then worst case scenario you could use them if it's life threatening. Such as a breaker bar or torque-wrench for the wheels. You could easily kill a man with a breaker-bar with enough force behind it. Of course I'm not saying carry these tools for that purpose, but if you do carry them for DIY breakdown-repairs etc like myself then worst case scenario you've got a tool for self-defence as in the UK even pepper-spray is not allowed.

      That reminds me of this one incident maybe a year or so ago. I was dropping off my daughter at a friend's birthday party.As I was leaving, this guy pulls out in front of me in a new Impreza. It was a pretty big neighborhood so I just decided to follow him out. After a few minutes we pass where I dropped my daughter off and I realize that we just went in a circle. I decide to make a left turn out (where before I made a right), but before I can execute the turn this guy spins out in front of me. He runs his front left tire into the curb, but not too seriously. Then, he just stares at me for half a minute with this hate filled grimace -- taking a gulp of his 1 liter drink -- before taking off in what I thought was a collision course. I narrowly missed him as I make my turn but now he is just following me. I swear it was the scariest thing that's ever happened to me on the road -- this man, easily over 150kg, hot on my tail. This maniac chases me for a good 10 minutes before we get to this wind on a wooded road. Suddenly he oversteers massively and wraps his car soundly around a tree. I silently thanked God and made my way out. Fortunately for me, my daughter's friend's mother agreed to take her home so I wouldn't have to chance death again. Stay save folks.

    Hi my name is Robbie and I run a group called Stolen and Vandalized Vehicles in Colorado. We focus on all things related to auto theft and vandalism and what people can do to avoid being a victim either for the first time or becoming a victim again. One of these topics we deal with is carjackings. This hits especially close to me, because one of my daughters close friend close her daughter in a carjacking. Although that there probably nothing they could have done to prevent their particular situation your video could prevent others from having this happen to them. I watch videos and do research everyday and this has to be one of the best videos I've come across on this topic. Thank you for sharing!!!

    Didn't let her overtake the other cars, was blocking her attempts to take exits, knocking over carstops, pushing cars off the road, going sideways and all that crackhead stuff. At the time it seemed that stopping would mean heavy injuries or death, quite possibly.
    This time she drove into a gas station where me and my friend were waiting to deal with the idiot, but what if that wasnt an option?

    Also, don’t be distracted with your phone at the red light or at the stop sign and keep your windows closed. The doors of your vehicle should be locked right way once you get inside the car. It’s all about staying aware of your surroundings and trusting your guts. I saw online that some of the tricks carjackers do is put a $20 bill (most likely a counterfeit) under your windshield wiper so when you notice it and stop to grab it they move. Again be aware of your surroundings and don’t forget to install a dash cam it will help get some information (licence plate, ID the criminals etc) to assist law enforcement in making an arrest.

    • @Teamoneilrally
      @Teamoneilrally  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There is some logic to this, and it would also potentially help police find the vehicle more quickly. Some drivers will put the "anti-theft system" alarm decals on the windows even if they don't have an alarm system, that could turn away some potential car thieves. The downside is that a lot of stolen cars are stripped for parts as those are easily sold and untraceable, so a decal might not be a huge deterrent. Once they get the car into their garage, it's game over.

    Keep all necessary items on you and not laying around in your car. This way if you need to jump out and run you have everything with you. Don't lay your key fob in the car if you have a newer car with keyless push to start. If the key fob is on you and you run they can't drive the car. Park in the open away from larger vans or trucks and leave room all around you so you can drive in any deration if needed. This is a trick I was thought for fending off a car jackers. Slip the car into reverse as they walk toward the car. Now cut the wheel all the way to the lock so it will expose the rear tread of the tire on there side of the car. As they get up close to the car punch the gas hard, this will help the tire snag there clothing pulling them under your car. Don't worry about the carjacker think only about you and your family and if you see fellow carjackers take off as fast as you can. Good info in a much needed video, thank you.

    I have no reason to believe that I'll ever be in a situation where any of this applies, considering all my cars have been kinda cheap, but it was interesting to watch, nonetheless. One thing that really hit me though, was the part about gas-stations. Is it normal in the US to leave your keys in the ignition, while filling the tank? I never leave my car for more than a minute, with the keys in it, and I'll only do it if I can keep visual contact and/or know that it's completely safe. Guess it 50/50 about wasting gas and being safe; a car with the engine running and no one in it, is just to easy to take for a joy-ride.

      Well what happens is these people sell the cars to people over seas. They jack the cars and then make money from someone in India or something. Somehow they also sneak the cars onto shipping vessels. They will look for newer nice cars usually.

      actually a common thing in big cities. Gangs will steal and sell the cars over seas. They make like 30k per car, but only if they get ones that are in high demand. Newer, nicer cars that people over seas would buy. Expect they don't know they were stolen.

    • @codenamecordon
      @codenamecordon 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      FMC Fastmadcow we’ve had car thefts go up here as well. A good old trick works that my parents told me ages ago - just drive something that isn’t so “interesting”. I mean, if it costs 5k on a lucky day - nobody’s gonna make 30 on it, and most criminals won’t risk getting caught or things going south for just 3-4k 😃
