Hi, new subscriber here. Can I just say how good this video is. This is the exact type of content we need more of. Trial and error, testing your equipment and plans. Getting out there and actually putting it into practice. There's more to learn from running these types of scenarios than anything else. Good effort, and congratulations on your first adult wild camp! Certainly, 20 - 30 kgs is a rather large pack weight! The strategy I use when wild camping ad pack weight is: short hike = 'luxury', carry the the stuff I want, and long hike = minimalist, carry the stuff I need. So, for a long hike, I can just about fit all my stuff in a 50L pack. I think, if you're planning any winter hikes and are worried about the cold, a small tent rather than a tarp, or using a closed tarp-tent configuration, would save you having to carry the extra layers and sleeping bag as the your body heat should heat the tent/tarp pretty well. Entertaining and educational EP. i missed this video last week. The importance of planning cannot be over-mentioned, particularly when it comes to where to go, how to get there and what to take. You've done the best thing by practicing before a shtf.
Next wild-camp should be 3rd time lucky?
ps. Have just lit a T-light to see if it can get a mug of water hot enough for a decent moaning brew. probably the best way to start the day.

Hi, yes I tried what you daid before, I did film it but didn't put it in the video. I put my solar lantern on inside and you coukd see a faint glow, so pretty discrete.
Great video. Those fences would be dealt with if it was actually a bug out situation, just cut them down. Other than that, I’m not climbing them very easily. You did a great job and I love the honesty of the video.

Great bug out EP. It goes to show how many obstacles one has to consider in terms of terrain etc..,in case of a SHTF. Where i go camping i have a tick problem,hopefully you havent encountered any in your neck of the woods. If so,Permethrin treated clothes will do the trick. Probably the biggest hazard out there,are ticks and the pathogens they carry. Look forward to the next one. Cheers 🙂👍🙏

Wow you are very close to me i Hike there all the time ...Last time i hiked up to the Oxney Bottom i had my two dogs with me and we had a bite to eat inside the Chapel one of my dogs frooze inside the chapel it was very strange my other dog was fine but she frooze i had to carry her out and once we left the woods she was fine it was mad as i didnt feel uncomfortable at all very strange indeed ... I didnt know i had a prepper channel this local ...nice 1
