Great for an emergency shelter on a day hike. I'd use hiking poles and take a ridge line to use with trees, no poles needed that way and less chance of the wind affecting it. Great starter tarp at that price.
👍👍👍 £20.00 .. if it does the job, then why not? Each to their own .. but me? I would ditch those poles and just use my Hiking Poles. With my knees 🙄, they accompany me anyway and their adjustability gives me more setup options. The supplied straps could be used as part of a Ridge Line or replaced altogether by Cordage. Setup, the way you are doing it with fixed pole lengths. * Sort out an 'ideal' configuration in your garden. * Mark a Strap on each end of the Tarp with some tape / whatever, indicate the optimum distance between the pegs at each open end. * The rest is then easy-peas with minimal peg adjustment needed. I have learned by experience 'how far' my tent pegs should be apart, but even then, I plant one of my hiking poles upright with tarp. Reach over and set both pegs. Keep tension on the upright Pole Guy Line and set it's Tent Peg. Keep tension on the tarp while going to the other end to repeat. Pole height and Peg adjustments are minimal thereafter. A proper 'road test' would be nice, please. Thanks for sharing .. take care .l
I've just been looking at my DD tarp drying. It's not regular seam tape it's chemically bonded/welded to the tarp highly flexable. Get a DD or branded tarp
@@jayshah8455 I know what you mean. No you can't really I might get one. You can always seam seal it if it leaks just clear silicone 50/50 with mineral spirits.
Good job for money but I got dd one for 35 for 3.5x3.5 but id try that if had seen it good budget options for beginers not everybody has big piggy banks
I've been looking for something like this. Shame about the non stealth colour. Could you donate video showing it's LARGEST configuration, tallest poles and stretched out wide to allow three people to sit underneath in chairs? That's what I need it for. Cheers!
@@WildJam. Excellent!! I didn't mean to type 'donate' I meant 'do a video ' but you worked it out. Yeah me and some friends take small 2 man tents and it would be great to have a central area to sit together on our chairs if it rains, that's why I'd like to see it's largest configuration before I buy one. I would also pack the poles separately on the outside of my rucksack in the side pocket where I keep my tent poles.
Thats a bargin price, have you teasted it in heavy rain. Ive got a dd tarp for my hammock but looking for a tarp shelter for near fire for woodland camps, is it still in Aldi👍
Atm I’ve not tested in the rain but will be soon and yes still should be in Aldi in store maybe not the website but the item is still listed just not in stock online so look in store if possible
I have same tarp tested it in the rain last week there was a couple of drips getting through the seam but next time I unfold it I'm rubbing a candle down the inside and outside of the centre seam
@@WildJam. yeah man all is good hahaha, locked out my twitter cos I don't remember its username -.- and locked out my main email which is gonna be annoying haha. karma for killing the rabbit :D

I got it for £15 on sake. Couldn't refuse for that price.

Av they got them in another colour👍👍
Could only see it in this grey they may have tho
This is one looks good but no floor and looks like it will constantly keep the falling lol
Can add a floor tho in a different way I’ll build a few different ways at some point
@@WildJam. w
Take an inch off each pole. Make it easier to get in your pack. Won’t make a big difference to your overall setup.
Nice idea
I think as long as it lasts it's a great deal, I would get one if I needed it
I was surprised how good it was for the price but like you say only time will tell and I still need to rain test it
@@WildJam. I like the fact that it's silver on the inside, I've just paid £70 for a 3m x 3m and a tenner for a set of poles that look very similar lol
But what are the dimensions? Size is part of the evaluation.
