Demoed one last week and decided to buy the say setup 5500 1.3i and i love it. Consistent droplet size through the whole fan patterns blending metalics become super easy even the hard silvers never puts it on texture
Spot on. Love Sata, I have a Jet 90 and a older RP. I wish Sata was more affordable. I don’t think they are overpriced, they are worth the money. But I’m happy with my Teknas, Sata would have to make something industry changing for me to buy new. Plus most apprentice painters don’t start in Sata anymore like back when HVLP first became standardized.
Tony would love to hear if your thoughts or settings have changed on the x5500 I pattern hvlp. I'm finding I have to close the fan some and that's not really anything I've read anywhere. Salutations from the states
well....my collection is 22 sata's so far...And I love them..Only Iwata I have is the LPH 80 and that is purely becuase of its ability for close control and hardly any over over spray.... But.....can I praise you for your down to earth, easy to follow, advice and you push out quality work...Keep it up m8 and all the best.
i havent used the 5000 hvlp as i said in the video , the 1.3 tip is good enough for small or large jobs and persoanlly i wouldnt go for the 1.2 for base the 1.3 is perfect
Hi tony, sorry for commenting old video post. I just tried out satajet x5500 today and with setting fluid 2 turn out, spray pressure 2bar, full fan, the clear spray out quite orange peely. Using Spralac MS clear, slow reducer and 10% thinner max. I tried out other gun and it spray out fine. Is it really sata spray gun really hard to use? First time trying it out and need advice on the gun set up. I have some test panel pictures and hopefully u can help out.
So best way to set any gun mate for clear , full fan , 2.0 bar pressure 2 turns out , if it’s feels dry or slow add more fluid till your hit your sweet spot , we all paint different so tweaking it to your sweet spot is key
@@TonysRefinishingTV thanks for reply mate. Yeah guess it really need time to get used to sata. Its a good gun just Its really need time to tune up, i never quite full fluid turn during clear coat, as for sata, i think i will try 2.5 turn which is max fluid and see hw the clear goes. Been looking around for sata review video nw, some painter says high pressure 3.5 bar some low pressure ard 1.7bar. As u mentioned different painters has different settings, guess i will need to try out until the sweet spot.
I bought a sata jet 5000 hvlp for my first base gun off of a snap on truck , made payments . Now I'm paying off a 5500RP I pattern, best money ever spent
Its not blending thinners its blending clear , basically clear paint we put down first that helps the laydown and blending of metalic paints its not always needed but comes in handy on awkward colours
When's the next video? What would you say the best pressure setting would be on a gti pro 1.2 for clear coat? In bar Also have you got any videos on filling dents
It may look it on the video but it’s still not fully dry at that point plus once it’s down it will give you the same affect as it being wet it still helps the metallics land nicer on the car
Thanks. I have this gun. And its hit and miss for me. The rep said use it all open at 26.but with that recommendation On silvers it tends to mottled or not wet up evenly. So again thanks I'll try your settings tomorrow.
lol sorry man thought you had asked that question on another video , ok so for the sata run the fan on full its great on full fluid i wouldnt run that on full mate itll be way to wet and thats where the mottle will come from in your silvers n high metalic colours , try opening the fluid about half way open and run it from 1.2 1.5 bar on tha air mate hope that helps
Love your videos I’ve just started s channel and was wondering can you remember how look it took to get the first 100sub then 1000 and so on. Love the work pal. Keeping it real. Ps I think we have the same booth
nice man and im not sure it was ages ago plus it depends on your regoin uk or us ect uk channels take time to grow lol, which booth? the one in this video
It does not have a "massive" fan. Its just same as all of them . But it hose out more paint . Im not very impressed. I bet u my honor the 6000x is just around the corner. I reverted to 4000 hvlp for light metallics. The 5500 did really poor and blotchy final control coats. But its a hoser for large non metallic jobs. And its similar to iwata w400.
Thank you for your great video and explanation, can we use this gun for all type of base coat and metallic?hope u make video for premium coat thank u again
They are very proud of their spray guns nowadays. That's why I switched up to the DeVilbiss GTI Pro Lites a couple of years ago. Great guns at a more pocket friendly price. Used to be a die hard Sata guy.
i know what you mean , im stubborn lol il save up and get one eventually lol but for now for an everyday gun purchase that £600 price mark is just out of reach for a base gun
@@TonysRefinishingTV I did let my curiosity get the better of me and I have a Sata 5000 RP with the 1.2 nozzle setup on the way. Can't wait to see for myself how it's able to smash the clear I'm spraying. Cheers
My problem is that I'm not only an auto body painter but also a spray gun enthusiast. I want the new DeVilbiss DV1, and the new Lotus edition Supernova, and the new Sata 5500 X RP, I want them all! LOL!
The R&I makes no sense on this job. Why disassemble one taillight and leave one in? No emblem removal? And then blowing the base dry? Why not just walk away for a few minutes
Old boss mate strip nothing get it out as fast as you can he didn’t care aslong as he got the job paid for very much the opposite to how I work lol but hands were tied
Teşekkürler ederim güzel bir video olmuş.tamponda astarın üzerine ilk olarak vernik sıktınız sebebi nedir öğrenebilirmiyim.bende sata 5000 kullanıyorum.
hi steven , a clear gun i can stand £600 on its the final finish but a base gun its not something i can afford easily tbh and for the money a pair of iwatas you cant go wrong for the price
Hey Man, thought i would drop in for a minute, been awhile. I absolutely love love this gun. It lays down metallics and pearls beautifully and i havent used anything else since i bought it. I also love the 1.2 O setup on my 5500RP. It smashes the clear on so nicely and flawlessly. Those are my to go to guns right now.
If you say so mate but at the end of the day that’s not my shop , my old Bosses shop he lays the wage bill so it’s his call not mine my way and his would be different but till you pay my wage then I don’t think you can judge tbh
tony I like your vids but in my opinion the only point by spraygun testing is is the result and consuption of modern paint systems and I have use all the sprayguns but day in day out I use SATA and they serve me the last 18 years without to change nothing !my 2000 RP has cleared over 25000 invoices !where is the price difference ?A tool is not the price is how much they can bring to you !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
£600 for a clear gun yes as its the final finish on the product , £600 for a base gun for me is out of reach and is for alot of professional painters who have to buy there own guns to work with, so although i agree a £600 gun when your painting £1000s in work with it each week isnt too much to spend , £600 for a base gun is still alot of money in my honest opinion and not something easily bought by most

Tony Which gun do you consider best for the transparent iwata Hakone - Lotus or sata 5500
Honestly the iwata and 5500 are exceptional for clear that would come down to your budget more
@@TonysRefinishingTV thanks Tony.

I use iwata lph400 but it has mottlingbissues with coarse metallics does this gone lay down metallics better?
I use iwata but it has
What do you think about Iwata WS400 evo HD for Solvent base ? (Light metalics). I want buy iwata or Sata 4000/5500hvlp
Both the ws , ls are great for solvent base I’ve used the sata too for solvent base again a great gun

A paint supplier told me to stay away from the 5500 because of there being no distribution ring. Says he's seen them have problems
It's built into the cap. Less parts, less maintenance. If you can afford it go for it!
Great video. Review is excellent!

you spraying waterborne or solvent in the video
Solvent
And we have anothet Gunman painter channel. BIG LIKE
