Very nice, thanks. Suggest letting the aircraft make the music.
@rickaser2383, thanks Rick, I really do try to make the aircraft the local point. Wind is my helper and my enemy. Thanks for your kind words and support, I am truly grateful. Best....Corrie
Your videos have gone from Good to Fine to Excellent to First Class to Top of Class.. You are now my 'officially the best seaplane videographer'. :)
@AVMamfortas, thanks for your positive words and support, I am sincerely grateful. The audio is rarely good in Victoria, that's what has held me back from posting more videos from Victoria. I got some amazing footage yesterday and will upload some of it next weekend. I will have to work on the audio, it was really windy. The wind made for exceptional close ups because of the direction it was blowing. I could almost reach out and touch as they went past. I am honoured to be your best seaplane videographer, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Best....Corrie
Nicely done as usual. A foggy morning. Putting in caption with the location and date is a nice touch.
@hamradio3716, I am truly grateful for your always kind words and support, thank you. I'm trying to improve the "production", thanks for noticing. My goal is to get 1% better with each video. I had no idea an older model brain(mine) could learn so many new things, and a learning curve it is. Best....Corrie
New subscriber. Some of your photography is really excellent. I’m old enough that I actually saw Twin Otters on the factory assembly line in Toronto.
@ELMS, I'm so happy you found the lounge. Thanks for your kind words and support, I am truly grateful. That's cool that you've seen Twin Otters on the assembly line, it is an incredible machine. Twin Otters are now made in North Saanich(just outside of Victoria) by Viking Air. It's a pretty amazing local company. Best...Corrie
Awesome compilation ! I had been to both Victoria and Vancouver back in January 2012 and have just good rememberings ! This video helps to refresh those !!!
@dragonfly, I love your handle, dragonfly. My first tattoo is a dragonfly. Thanks for your kind words and support, I am truly grateful. You are overdue for a visit to the coast. If you visit, I can refresh the memories and make new ones. I love being tour hostess, it’s a favourite pastime. Best…Corrie
A great show this morning. Very calming video of fantastic planes coming and going. Looks like it's a little windy. ;)
@randyhuffman9370, thanks Randy, I am truly grateful for your kind words and support. It was definitely a windy day, makes for great filming, but terrible audio, even with my good microphone. Best....Corrie
🎉Always a pleasure to watch your videos Corrie. I'm convinced that Beavers don't look right without a big round engine up front. The Twin Otter must be one of the busiest light turboprop twins ever built. If they are not moving they are loading, unloading or in maitenance.
@mothmagic1, Ian, I'm with you, I love the big round radial too on the Beaver. The Otters definitely are busy all the time. I haven't posted a seaplane video from Victoria for quite sometime. The audio transmission between tower and the pilots isn't even close to what it is in Vancouver and I thought the lack of audio would be a negative, I tried anyways. I got some great footage at home yesterday, again bad audio, but the winds were so perfect! The Otters, and Twins are so close up the way the wind was blowing. I was gobsmacked when the harbour patrol had to rush through the harbour at full speed to move a wayward sailboat out of the way of an Otter about to take off. The Otter was totally aware of the stupid sailboat. I will post that video on Friday. I am truly grateful for your always kind words, engagement and support. Best...Corrie
Corrie it's nice to be appreciated. Even if it is only for being an anorak
@mothmagic1, Ian, you know how to make me chuckle, thank you. I appreciate you! Best....Corrie
@@leftcoastcorrie As always if I can make someone smile I've done my good deed for the day. That grey Otter looks as though it's in maritime camouflage.
@mothmagic1, I think the camouflage Otter is pretty cool. Kenmore Air has some amazing livery, the Orca Otter is pretty awesome too. Ian, you always make me smile! Best...Corrie
Harbour Air is the largest sea plane operator in the world (canadian). The company had the very fist commercial electric sea plane.
@grahamkearnon6682, thanks Graham for your engaging comment. Harbour Air is for sure one of the world's largest seaplane operators. I'm pretty sure Trans Maldivian Airways is the largest. I have a short story posted about the e-Beaver, it was a static display. I am truly grateful for your engagement and support, thank you. Best....Corrie
Fantastic captures Corrie enjoyed as always
@jamesburnside3023, thanks Jim, I am sincerely grateful for your always kind words and support. I love watching your work too! You have a way of capturing trains that is truly remarkable. I learn from great creators, and you are at the top of my list. Best...Corrie
Video editing is a bit of an art form as well as technical one. Adding action/scene changes with wipes or dissolves takes the quality to a new level. A nice feature I have seen is post editing new comments to the scene (if appropriate). Video editing has a steep learning curve. You could set yourself a goal to master a new video editing feature/function once every 2 weeks - in a year that’s 26 new things you have learned. Most importantly, have fun.
@hamradio3716, Oh my goodness, this TH-cam journey has been an exponential learning curve! I had no idea this old gal(me) had enough hard drive space left in the 'ol noggin, apparently I do. I have years of learning ahead of me, it is the best education I could have ever hoped for. I still consider myself a rookie. As you pointed out, have fun, and I am. I could have never imagined the community the lounge has brought together. I am sincere when I say "I am truly grateful for the kind words, engagement and support". I promise to keep learning and getting better if you keep visiting the lounge? I value your knowledge and kind words of how to improve. Best....Corrie
I think for the International viewers the location description should mention ' on Canada's Pacific Coast '.
@grahamkearnon6682, thanks Graham for your suggestion, I will give it consideration. How about on Canada's West Coast Salish Sea? I am grateful for your engagement and support, thank you. Best...Corrie
Great, thank you. 😀👍🏻 Cheers, John. 🇳🇿 NZ.
@JohnBatchelor-zb3pu, Thanks John, I am sincerely grateful for your kind words and support. Welcome to the lounge, I am happy you found your front row seat and your first class ticket. NZ is a long way from here! Best....Corrie
Oh wow Corrie, that was amazing lovely landings.✈️🌍🤓💕
@shaunpavery-pn5jq, thanks Shaun, I appreciate your always kind words and support. I have resisted posting Victoria seaplanes because the audio sucks and there's no ATC chatter. That being said, the footage and landscape are so vastly different from Vancouver. I've decided to hang out at home more often for the reason that when the wind blows in the right direction, the footage is pretty awesome. New and old scenery on the way, stay tuned. Best....Corrie
I live in Victoria and enjoy the float plane operation. Great video! Would like to see a conventional Beaver however!
@williamjesse7622, thanks William, I am truly grateful for your kind words and support. I'm on the same page with you, a Beaver with a radial engine is hands down just more cool than a turbo. I'm always happy to have local visitors, thanks for stopping by. Best....Corrie
I like these shots from Victoria, as it not only is obviously a change of scenery, but it seems like the aerodrome gets different aircraft flying in. These planes come in sooo much closer than in Vancouver Harbour. Odd how the fog is just on one side of the harbour. Also, I liked seeing the Dragon Boats in the background. However, as a SAR member, I would have to advise against that Kenmore paint scheme of grey camouflage. Matching the colour of your environment is not a prudent thing to do if you crash and want to be found. As a non-military application, I can't see the benefit.
@Astromechy, Victoria is a change of scenery. I haven't shot much at home because the wind is often terrible and overrides a good quality video, even with a wind screen on my mic. I keep getting told to fix my audio, and I'm really trying. I don't love adding music, but it's better than obnoxious wind. The wind makes for great filming, terrible audio. I love the camouflage Otter, but agree it wouldn't be really easy to find if it went down. Thanks for your always interesting engagement, kind words and support. Best...Corrie
@@leftcoastcorrie I'm not sure what you can do about the wind noises. I don't really mind, as I just take it as part of the experience. But, maybe you can use an audio jack with your camera, so that you can hear the sounds as they are recorded. Then, if it sounds like the wind noises are taking over, maybe find a lamp pole or wall you can use to block the wind. Those winds seem to be so strong that I don't think a regular wind screen will cut it. However, they are still great videos. Keep up the great work, Corrie. 🥰
@Astromechy, I appreciate your valuable suggestions. As a rookie, everything is new and a learning experience. I've discovered audio is a balancing act. Sometimes I get it right, sometimes not so much. Some people don't mind the wind, others say "how could you post such crap" and "how unprofessional". Someday AI will be my assistant and remove the wind, I'm not quite there yet. Thanks for visiting the lounge, I am always grateful for your kind words, engagement and support. Best...Corrie
Foggy day in Victoria. Interesting !
@johnreid4363, yes John, this was a foggy day! I was late meeting you at the Legion on this day, because I was filming this amazing scene, also Patti gave me the most amazing strawberries, I ate the whole box all by myself....mmmm. I am truly grateful for your always kind words and support, thank you. Best...Corrie
3:49 nice beautiful DHC3. But the colour scheme. When I flew the Beaver for a few years up north, it was #004 CF-OBV and it was DAY GLOW ORANGE. If I ever went down in the bush, your would see unlike the cammo Kenmore!

@geoffquickfall, thanks Geoff for your kind engagement and support, I am truly grateful. I agree, a cammo Otter might be challenge to find if it went down in the bush. It is on my bucket list to sit in the right seat of a Beaver and film the journey. My preference would be a radial engine Beaver, it's just more cool and classic than a turbo. Thanks for stopping by the lounge, I hope you will visit again. Best....Corrie
@@leftcoastcorrie you are correct, something about the radial engine on the Beaver. In fact, i was lucky enough to acquire the Covington and Pratt and Whitney cloisonné badges off the number 5 cylinders having put around 3000 hours on the DHC2. Welded some bolts to them and anchored them to my airline flight bag as a reminder of my “bush”flying days” in the 70’s and 80’s. Love the channel. Cheers and keep the shiny side down (floats!) and remeber, if you land or take-off with the water rudders down, thats a case of beer for everyone that notices! Geoff
@geoffquickfall, Geoff, that is super cool to have a DHC2 cylinder badge on your flight bag! 3K hours on a Beaver is impressive, well done! Hmmm, you spark a curiosity with your words "shiny side down". If you don't mind, may I incorporate those words on occasion with my voiceovers? I'm a rookie on TH-cam and am on a steep learning curve. I'm constantly working on production improvements. I'm a bit embarrassed by my first videos, but hey, we were all beginners once. I just discovered a new editing tool, it's by no means earth shattering, but it's just one more improvement. Just a bit better with each video is my end game. Thanks again for your kind words, engagement and support. Best....Corrie
Great video - like!
@user-gk8gg1zt7l, thanks for your kind words and support, I am truly grateful. I appreciate you found the lounge and hope you will return. Best....Corrie
corrie how often do these planes go in for safety check? I assume it’s on hours of use or is it. Have a great weekend
@gettingold59, Allan that's interesting question. My neighbour is an amazing mechanic for HA, I will get the factual numbers from him and report back. I know the planes get several "check ups" of varying degrees every year. Thanks for your always kind words, engagement and support, I am truly grateful. Best....Corrie
Checks and maintenance of varying degrees. Some is dictated by flight hours some by total time. In the UK there is annual inspection which is basically no more than a detailed inspection of just about everything. Then there is the star annual which is due every 3 years. The manufacturer will have specified what checks and maintenance are required on 50 ,and 100 hour checks. Sometimes it's nothing more than making sure all the controls are still connected and functioning correctly plus changing the engine oil and spark plugs. The star annual is a bit severe though, requiring the removal of some parts for inspection.
Very interesting, that is intense. As always, safety first.
Omg, Americans put camo on everything! 😂
@georgej7077, you made me laugh, thank you. I love your comment. Thanks for your fun engagement and support. Best...Corrie
Horrible music otherwise great soundtrack Corrie.
@danwaldie4661, thanks for visiting the lounge today, I am grateful for your honest engagement and support. As a rookie editor, I am always up for constructive criticism. The wind can be quite harsh on the ears, even with a wind screen on the microphone, hence I added the music. I welcome your kind suggestions on improving my production. Best...Corrie
Music is subdued and does cover the wind noise. It is not distracting in the background in my opinion.
@dashcroft1892, thanks for your kind words and support, I am sincerely grateful. As a newbie, I don't always get it right. I appreciate you understood my trying to cover up the wind a little. I try not to make the music the too overpowering, subtle and easier on the ears. Best...Corrie
Yep….per previous comments, music was weird…uh…different, but I soon got over it. I am in the Seattle area, been to beautiful Victoria many
times, float plane dock(hope I am saying that right) always fun to observe. Enjoy your videos, given you a thumbs up…subscribed, too. Keep ‘em coming….
@shar7522, thanks for your kind words and support, I am truly grateful. Music is a challenge for sure. The wind makes for great filming conditions, but terrible audio. You live in a beautiful place, Seattle is one of my favourite cities. I'd love to land on Lake Union in a Beaver and record the journey. Best...Corrie
Compared to some other places on the Island Victoria kinda has an ugly harbour. Too much commercial development.
@waynemerlo7448, thanks Wayne for visiting the lounge today, I am grateful for your support. If Victoria isn't your favourite harbour, I have lots of great seaplane videos that I took in Vancouver. My camera loves to travel up and down this beautiful island. If you have a favourite seaplane spotting spot on the island, let me know where that is and I will try and find my way there sometime this summer. I love a good suggestion and challenge. Best....Corrie
There would not be much need for air/water transportation like this if there was no commercial development to supply the engine for these services.
@dickdaley9059, I agree, one business supports another and so on. Thanks for finding the lounge, You found you front row, It's the best seat in the house. I hope you will visit the lounge again, I am truly grateful for your engagement and support, thank you. Best...Corrie
