You’re right about barometric pressure. I lived in Florida for 16 years. If you can get out before a hurricane or a tropical storm, you can guarantee a good day, due to the extreme pressure drop. You’re a legend mate.
Hello! I’m Portuguese and I love saltwater fishing, spinning or surfcasting. I usually fish in Torreira, Furadouro or S. Jacinto, in sandy beaches. I did not know Samson gear and I’m fascinated. I’m curious about the travel rod “Todos” and those amasing lures. I’d love to see some videos of sandy beaches expeditions so I could learn which is the best choices for those terrains. Didn’t you ever tried this kind of beaches in Portugal? Thank for sharing! Pedro
I have caught bass many bass over the years from beaches and there is some footage on one or two videos. Spinning from the beach can be very good. I generally prefer the rocks! The best lure for the beaches is probably the Enticer Minnow! You need long casting lures and the Enticer Minnow and Todos are a great combo! Good luck!

Hey pal I have 2 samson shads 15 grammes I try to retrive them slow with small twitches but evry time the front hook tangles on the leader. Any tips. Thx
sounds like you are doing it well, small taps. I use that lue a lot and never had that problem. Its possible you have slack in the line. The lure moves a lot so you dont want any slack line!
well one doesn't choose, I declare Parkinsons' desease about 15 years now; I adapted my fishing in accordance to my phisycal abilities; that's why I wouldn't try to do the same as you! Still, I've found a much safer way; I think the exact term in English is "bank fishing" the French say "pêche à vue" mostly in estuaries ,it consists in spotting the bass to begin with, and once you have spotted it, the trick is to trigger off an attack; the nice part is that you actually see it live, thru your polarizing glasses; there are still quite a few nice fish around, even though yours are massive beasts. My brother landed a 15 lb bass last year. well, I think that your way is wilder and more thrilling but definitely not for me! Have a great Xmas time, cheerio!
Thanks, glad you are enjoying your bass fishing! theres so many ways and styles to fish, and for sure the most important is how good it makes you feel! Some of my most fun sessions have been the calmer conditions when the fishing is hot and my heart isnt pumping quite so hard!
The problem with the coloured lures is the colours are only those skins that come with the lures. After a few sessions your lure will be white anyway as the colour wears off quickly. Nevertheless Samson lures are excellent robust lures ..
That's the skins. we don't do skins anymore! We have colours that can't change eg black, pink, high Viz. We also have airbrushed hand painted and finished with epoxy
