Nice demo. Mine arrived yesterday and it is going on my mid-priced Alvarez instead of my $3200 Taylor. I used the Roland GR and VG gear 20 years ago with two Godin Multiacs, but I got tired of all the massive cables and boxes. The Connect is ideal for what I need and the sounds are great. A must for me will be a volume pedal. Thanks for sharing your insights and your wonderful Martin!

Thanks Jon. Do not controller directly to the guitar like I did. Use 3M Velcro instead so that you do not mark the finish.

@@aaronshortmusic Thanks for the tip Aaron. I was just going out to buy some 3M strips for another project that arrived today. The little Alvarez does have an exceptional finish for a guitar in its price range.

@@aaronshortmusic My experience with the Connect was a big fail. None of the spacers worked to give me the proper height for each string, and so back to the store it goes. Thankfully the seller has a good "no hassles" return policy.

Thanks for the overview. I bought a Tripleplay Connect and the wireless computer version also, the latter is a nightmare to set up whereas the Connect is simple and I used the Wireless USB interface to remotely connect my guitar to my iPad for my plan to street perform with the Connect with everything wireless. Can you please advise me how I import better instrument voices to the Tripleplay Connect that the Wireless version offers in abundance!

I have NO ADVICE for your question, but I would love to know THAT answer as well! .... I just wanted to let you know that if you buy an APPLE "Lightning to USB" Camera Cable, it will allow you use your "WIRELESS" TriplePlay guitar set up, and plug it straight into your iPad TriplePlay CONNECT program ;-) You just go to one of the 3xPlay connect "instrument lists", scroll all the way to the right to the "shopping cart" where it displays "STORE" below it, click on the shopping cart icon - and the first item to buy is "TriplePlay Wireless Midi" - its a free purchase, then just get the cable and you are all set :-)

MIDI Guitar 2.5 for iOS supports AuV3. I can play any Audio Unit synth on ios. I love FTP but why did Fishman forget connectivity with AuV3? Too bad...

Hi, I'm the software manager for Fishman. The Connect iPad app supports Audiobus 3, so you can buy the Audiobus 3 app ($10) and then use FTP to control any AUV3 synth or effect that you would like. We are also considering adding direct support for AUV3 but no promises.

John Teele Hi John, I just read your comment about triple play app with Audiobus : can you describe ? Can I keep sensitivity settings from the app and control another synth app with this ? And a big question for me : is there a way to,use a sustain function (triggered with midi pedal like ik BlueBoard) to sustain chords ? This would be fantastic ! Many thanks

Does it track well when playing heavy riffs, like Slayer, Death Angel, Metallica etc.? I use the EHX Mel9 for my choir pads under the guitar and they track amazingly, with no Glitches or mistriggers. Does this pickup track as well as the EHX Mel9, or will it glitch on me/ start triggering random notes, when I play heavy riffs/chords with it? I need to know how well this tracks, and not many people seem to know, or show it tracking anything extreme, which may be a potential deal breaker if it can't, as I am considering on getting it for symphonic sounds for my one man metal act, Shadow.

Hi there. I only tried this on the acoustic guitar. From what I have heard it depends on the guitar and the installation. Did you see the guitar from Roland/Boss that was announced last year. It may be worth checking that out as well.

Aaron, excellent review here of the fishman triple play,
I am a one man band playing guitar and keyboards and using some bck tracks,
What I'm hoping to achieve is get my ketron Audya 5 to follow my guitar playing, in other words, select a style be it country, rock pop, whatever and play my guitar, and on changing chords the ketron will also change without me having to take my hand off the guitar,
I have however been told to purchase the Roland Gi20 midi guitar modeler, but only to play precise chords and be exact and no lead fills,
But really this would be boring,
and now anyway the Gi20 is discontinued,
So do you think the fishman is the way forward to achieve what I want, and don't say hire a keyboard player LOL,
there has to be a solution,
I don't really want my guitar to sound like a synth, just for the ketron to follow my guitar chord changes, thanks

    • @aaronshortmusic
      @aaronshortmusic  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Hi Martin. This is an interesting idea. I would probably look at using the app ‘MIDI Guitar 2’. If you connect your guitar to your iPhone/iPad/Mac it will actually convert your guitar chords to MIDI. I would just check to make sure that the keyboard will register fast enough that there is no lag as it follows you.

@@aaronshortmusic thanks for getting back to me so quickly Aaron, problem is im using android, I did consider the Roland Gi20 as I said but was told even again tonight wate of time waste of money, that fishman was the only way forward, but no I phone ipad
or mac, I also thought of getting
K8 midi pedal board, will work out but it's actually more work for me and every chance of messing up, buy trying to concentrate on singing playing guitar and the added of making sure I press the correct pedal, so I suppose that's not an option now either, and since fishman dont support android, I'm out of luck here, but Aaron thanks so much for your reply
