I believe this is the first time I've seen an indepth story on one of the Ripper suspects. Well done and thanks, BC!
Congratulations on your channel success and another very interesting and in depth brief case story💫👍🏻
News flash. Jack the Ripper was identified as Congressman Ted Cruz' DADDY, the old, stankass, wrinkled-up Cuban-born, ex-Castro fellow revolutionary criminal.
Calico D'Nikonian 😆 now that’s just funny
You went into so much more detail than other narrators of Chapman. I would like to point out one error. Surgeon is a mistranslation from Polish; it should be feltcher. He was trained as a barber/surgeon, something like a field medic. His being a barber was using his training.
Thank you for your work and congradulations.
I always wondered why in the old days people would be barbers AND doctor/surgeons. Doesn't seem like one would have anything to do with the other. Thanks for the explanation.🙂
the red and white sign outside a barbers shop meant that he was a barber surgeon.
@@jessicafain6630 Well it all started back approx. a thousand years ago, when doctors or more correctly physicians didn't exactly have what we would call a scientific approach. They rarely did surgery to take an example. But for the story about how the barber surgeon came to be, you should look up the Wikipedia article on "barber surgeon". It's a concise article on how; through monasteries and disputes between doctors, barbers learned the basic anatomic knowledge that was known at the time, and how they got the title.
Also a red and white Barber pole was also a sign unwanted babies could be dropped off. Some thing I just learned.
Dena Strackeljahn gosh, and then what did they do with them? Strange that even today we still have the red and white barber poles, well at least we do here in Australia
Lordy, this guy was more like JERK the Ripper.
LOL
Haha
Lol for sure and why would a 18 year old girl marry a old guy?
Flap Jack Stevens That was awesome!
Hahahahahah this comment
I’m always surprised as what passes for a “ladies man” across different eras and cultures🤔🤢 CONGRATS on 100K!!!🎉🎉🎉
We only see them through grainy old photos. In real life they might have been very handsome and charming. I always wonder what the Ripper's victims looked like while they were alive and vibrant, especially Mary Ann Nichols.
Actually, it said he "considered himself a ladies' man" not necessary that others saw him the same way. But, you've got a point.
Ugh! If that's what dude looked like, he'd never see my ankle!
@@heriatm2771 😂😂😂
He said he "considered himself a ladies man".
Your videos are so awesome. I LOVE that they're usually older and lesser known cases too. Thank you for all your hard work! 💞
Thanks :)
The amount of detail in this was amazing and very appreciated. We will probably never know conclusively who JTR was and that is part of the fascination we have with the story.
The real winner in this story is his first wife who went back to Poland. I surmise a hard life is better than no life at all.
Absolutely!!😉
Probably never knew just how lucky she was...
There was no "first wife". That has been proved to be a myth. See "Jack the Ripper At Last" on Amazon.
Well said, Raymond!
Yep
Superb again BC. Well done on your latest milestone. Amazing news.
Thanks :)
I’m ready for my weekly dose of Brief Case!!
Yesssssss! One of my fav channels I wait for every week - perfect timing. Thank you Brief Case! 💕
So pleased for your success on this channel, absolutely well deserved! George Chapman sounds an ideal candidate to be Jack the Ripper. He was callous, violent and cold heartedly poisoned his wives, even trying to strangle one of them. He was also in the right places and times to be the culprit but guess we will never know. Great narration and research, thanks for another great upload.
Thanks :)
Celeste Nova
The did DNA on a cape I believe. Anyway they figured it out.
Likely a paranoid schizophrenic, Kosminski, whose occupation was listed as hairdresser, was admitted into an asylum in 1891 after attacking his sister with a knife. In the mid-1890s, a witness identified him as the person attacking one of the victims but refused to testify. Lacking any hard evidence, police never arrested Kosminski for the crimes. He remained institutionalized until his death in 1919 from gangrene.
Brief Case hey I was wondering has anyone thought of the possibility that maybe Jack the Ripper was female? I don’t know how possible it could be because I don’t know if they would have allowed females to surgeons or butchers but some people can learn how to do things just by watching and if she was from the country I suspect she would be able to do her own meat. I mean everyone in Mexico swore it had to be man because a woman wasn’t strong enough but it turned out that it was female pro wrestler. 🤷♀️ just a thought I mean I know men in the past have killed prostitutes for whatever reason but didn’t the women all have same physical characteristics? Could have possibly been a wife or daughter whose family was torn apart because husband or father was frequently using the service and just one night followed him and could only see well enough to get the physical character of the lady??
trouble is it was proved he wasn't the ripper this writer as ive wrote is bloody idiot
@@Watkins106 I think it's wise to consider it could've been a woman. I don't personally think it was, BUT have suspicions that the black dahlia might have been killed by a woman
Congratulations on reaching 100+ K subs.

Anyhoo.... Carry On !!!!! Truth is Stranger than Fiction...as I'm sure you have Realized....
I have just had an insane day at work followed by lots of paperwork in my office at home and have about one hour of my time, so I am opening a bottle of beer and watching this, Bliss.

A Million, Nice thought but I doubt it but thanks for your support :)
Congratulations BC . As always a indepth & interesting Tale of Crime. I had heard of George Chapman as a suspect in the Ripper Murders , but had no idea about this. Thank You
100k, that's awesome! And I can't think of a more deserving channel! Great stuff, you make my Monday tolerable!
Edit: I believe we will never truly know who Jack the Ripper really was, since there are compelling arguments for several suspects. Always fascinated to hear another theory, though.
Thanks - I think thet You are correct but I do have my own favourite suspect :)

Congrats 🎊🍾🎈🎉 on 100k BC!
Excellent case to narrate. Being there are so many theories on who Jack the Ripper was, I don’t think we shall ever find out. Chapman was an evil man just the same. Glad they had caught him and paid the price! Great narration once again. 🔎
Thanks :)
Trans Atlantic Travel must have been cheap back then because many Brits being in legal trouble fled to the USA and returned within a short period of time. This was quite common and even very poor families could travel to the US as immigrants.
Although this Chapman fellow was truly a sick man, it takes an especially twisted mind to do what Jack the Ripper did
Exactly, when I saw photos of the victims in the JTR documentaries ,I thought GREAT DAY IN THE MORNING! I COULD NOT BELIEVE MY EYES ,ABSOLUTELY HORRIFYING! IT WAS SICKENING.

🤔 Don’t they suspect that Jack the Ripper had surgical knowledge? Am I the only one that finds it odd he choose not to put that knowledge to use? He was a shady looking guy I will give you that. I just don’t know though. It’s unusual for a murderer to use more than one method isn’t it?
Jack the ripper killed he gutted them ,if he went to there pad police said the room had blood everywhere one lady was disemboweled
His SUPPOSED "knowledge" on anatomy looks like it was limited to gutting cows, goats, sheep in a butcher or slaughterhouse atmosphere.
Could have simply been a butcher.
@@nutyyyy Maybe.

Love this site! Feel better now I've had my Brief Case for Monday :D
To echo the others, this is a great channel and whenever i see you update i know im going to hear about interesting subject matter without sensationalism… I’m glad you put so much effort into your channel and its criminals and crimes…
Re the idea he was “Jack” I’m not convinced but he cetrainly hated women and treated them as objects and playthings enough to be considered.
So glad your channel is doing well and you deserve it. I hope more people find it, great content.
Thanks :)
Do you know if his second “wife”, Annie Chapman, was the same one as the Annie Chapman, that was one of the Ripper murders?
Hello, Good spot, Totally different person - Thanks :)
I wondered the same thing initially, but then realized the timing didn't fit!
@@nickydenning6988
Eerie though, don't ya think?
Really was thinking somebody slipped me something because I was hearing THAT NAME he loved the Ripper murders area! Realizing I couldn't be BUT could that be, if it was him, the reason he went so far on her was because she had the same name and it triggered that surgical rage. Just a right after thought. But that is a deeply troubling man that seemed to be a pathological liar and all the other ideals seemingly know about the Ripper. Fascinating story
Hope you get another 100,000! Love to see ,maybe, a series on some of the other Ripper suspects that have a good story. This one was deep! Hope you can get to making 2 a week! Its suprising how the "way things must be" of the era dictated how people "ended" marriages and relationships. Poison and move on! And in many of your cases murder for insurance, inheritance, to start over or just plain old get away I'm done! Tragic yes but the stories fascinate me!
I'm getting my Monday morning fix a little late, today. But, I've been waiting to watch this since I received the notification this morning! Take it away, Brief Case.
And, congratulations on reaching 100k+ subscriptions! 🥂
Thanks :)
There's 1 thing I've noticed over the last 20+ years . You never see Jack the Ripper inages wearing a Deer Stalker Cap! I remember more than a century that's how he was depicted! Those wore the days!
Love this channel and your stories! When I was a kid growing up in NYC, in the early 1960s, there was a famous case involving Alice Crimmins in the borough of Queens. Her two children went missing and were subsequently found dead. Horrible tragedy. Very famous trial. I’d love to see you cover that. 👍
I will look into it - Thanks :)
Well Done You, you deserve it Friend.
The First Wife 'wanted to regain his affection'. 🤔
I'm glad she boosted it back to Poland, wonder what happened to her after that.
Congrats on 100k buddy. Been with you since 15k.
Thanks for all your support :)
Congratulations on your reaching this milestone e. All your hard work has paid off and you deserve the recognition. I think it's hard to pin Chapman as the Ripper because there are so many other potential candidates. Again congratulations.
I am grateful for your stories, they are so very interesting. Thank you.
Sadly, every since Cain killed Able there have been far too many personalities that have been and are willing to take life away from others. I think Mr G. Chapman could be safely added to the "strong suspect" list as JTR.

Congrats Brief Case on 100k subs. I've been here for about a year and have throughly enjoyed all the videos. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for your support :)
@@BriefCaseOfficial please keep crushing it and making great videos on obscure criminals
George Chapman could have been Jack the Ripper but as Anonymous Bosch stated " we'll never really know for sure because of all the suspects they've had in custody and I guess it really doesn't matter anymore that happened so long ago, long before my time, a lot of these cases happened long before my time and I'm glad I subscribed to your channel or I don't think I'd ever hear about these cases especially the ones before my time I mean maybe I would have some time but I don't think so and Maybe I have some time and just don't remember I don't know but anyway Thank you for stories and congrats for 100k subscribers.

I Have done a few and will do more so far - Fred Deeming, Lizzie Halliday, Mary Pearcey (I do not think Lizzie and Mary are credible) and a suspect appears in the Florence Maybrick video - Thanks :)
u always do a great job
this was very interesting, but i thought "the ripper"was never to be found.

That's why he's a Jack the Ripper "suspect." No one knows who the ripper was for sure, but there are a few speculations. George is one of them.
Thanks but I am not sure George is actually JTR :)
@@BriefCaseOfficial thats what i ment, that i was not sure this man was the "Ripper"
Hugs from Sweden
Just discovered your channel and I'm already binge watching your videos. All the best and more subscribers to come!
Thankyou so much :)
Definitely not Jack the Ripper. A murderous leopard doesn’t change his murderous spots. Serial killers almost always use the same method of murder for every victim, Son of Sam shot people, Boston Strangler strangled people, etc. It’s highly unlikely that he would change his murders from stabbing and mutilating to poisoning.
Congrats on 100K! You've earned that amount of subscribers because of your consistent high-quality videos.
Thanks :)
No, don’t think he was Jack the Ripper
I don't think he was mad Jack either, Maybrick is more likely but we'll probably never know
@@oliviagreen7423 Agreed that Maybrick seems a good candidate.
The thing that makes me doubt it is that he only moved to England ca. 1887 or late 1888, so it’s questionable whether or not he had a command of English suitable to the task of persuading these women to trust that he was a real-life John (unless he already had a command of the language before he left Poland). Mind you, he was a wee bit of a heinous git, so anyone who is that malicious, that callous, could well be capable of just about anything, I reckon.
Stopped at 0:24 to write this before finishing the view- No! Thank You!!!! This content is always varied, interestingly framed into a succinct narrative of peculiar people and times. Good case! No sure, need more info whether old George was Jack The Ripper! Thanks
Dying of exhaustion, from excessive vomiting and diarrhea... And I thought burning to death, was a horrible way to go!
Congrats on the milestone!
Wonderful documentary. Personally, though, I always believed H H Holmes was Jack the Ripper. He seemed to always be in London around the time of the White Chapel murders and back in the states afterwards. Maybe Lodon was practice for his hotel of horrors?
Maybe he was :)
H.H. Holmes is a very good candidate
Hmmm, interesting.
No.way. they were COMPLETELY different. Why people can't accept there can be more than one nutjob killer in the world at the same time is beyond me.
I always believed it was Holmes due to timing.
Congratulations on reaching 200k - but really it should be us thanking you for your hard work bringing us such interesting cases - so, thank you!
Sorry was meant to be 100k!
Thanks :)
Agree completely, Anne Griffith!
Interesting video. I think the possibility that Chapman was Jack the Ripper is highly probable.
Probable? There's a significant difference between a poisoner and womanizer like Chapman who clearly is governed by a deep seated wrath and whatever the hell Jack is. Chapman killed acquaintances, there is no significant evidence, bar Eddowes' boasts, that Jack's victims knew the killer.
CONGRATS ON THE MILESTONE! LOOOOOOVE YOUR VIDS! KEEP THEM COMING!

Now I really liked this one. George possibly being JTR🤔. I'm not sure. Its a question worth looking into. I would have asked George why he started killing his wives? He had no problem leaving women. Where did that come from? What made him start killing?
Maybe, he was JTR. We will never know. Sweety Todd needs fresh eyes as well.
Congrats on your success. Keep it coming. ❤
I couldn't find any references to a SweetyTodd. If you meant Sweeney Todd, that is a fictional character from a penny dreadful. He was not a real person.

We love you!! Thank you for the transport back in time! I love binge watching your videos!
Thankyou
Don’t know why just don’t think he was Jack the ripper .
Nether do I, serial killers usually stick with only one type of killing method...
Agreed. I just don't feel a connection there. George was a skirt-chaser and poisoned his wives when they became inconvenient. His motives make sense for his personality. "Jack" was a psychotic killer who disemboweled prostitutes. Totally different mindset and motivation.
Likewise it's not hh Holmes. Some do change things up, like Lucas, but in these cases the MO is the same in each string of events and very different from killer to killer.
U r sincerely welcome. I'm glad ur channel is really catching on. U narrate great true crime stories, with a wonderful accent❤👍
