@@builtnotboughtmadeinphilip3955 Hey Davis, someone gave me a good piece of advice once: draw a line from Cagayan de Oro down to General Santos, and anywhere east is OK. West - sometimes OK, sometimes not! But you could definitely drive through Surigao provinces down to Davao (the coast road is awesome via Bislig, Cateel and Mati) and then up through the mountains into Bukidnon and Cagayan de Oro!

You are very intelligent and your vlogs are so informational with a purpose. As soon as I am able to turn over my practice I am heading your way. I want to help the wonderful people that you love. Thanks Kumander Daot….your aerial view of Punta Dumalag is greatly appreciated. I was there years and years ago…. I went with my father. Portions of the Punta is a great part of my family’s heritage. It still is …. I haven’t been to in a long while. I just heard stories from the older members of my father’s side of the family . Plan to visit One of this days. Salamat kaayo. I will be able to show this to the rest of my family. As I have said it has been a looooooong time. Hope my next visit will bring good memories of the place. That remains to be seen though. 🙏🙏🙏

That turtle sanctuary as far as I can remember was a loosely fenced. area were we as kids could enter and go to the beach. Most of the vegetation there were
coconuts, mangroves and some small shrubs now it has a full blown ecosystem of plants, birds and turtles. And for the coastal road? well citizens of davao could not. enjoy the beach anymore of Davao because of the informal settlers, might as well use it for a fast route from south to north sprinkled within it are parks and playgrounds. Surely a win win for everyone👍🙂

I first went there over 20 years ago, just to have a look, as we had stayed nearby and it was pretty barren. It's incredible the transformation. Is it open to the public? Didn't know we have turtles in Davao, seen dolphins but never a turtle. The coast road and the getting rid of the overhead lines is making Davao a much better place. Certainly changed a lot since 1998. Another great vlog BTW.

02:59 - " Corrals suggest that the sea level was higher..." - Kumander D. I've seen videos of the presence of corral on Mt. Apo which suggests that the sea level is higher...OR... The entire archipelago of the Philippines was pushed up by tectonic plate movement. I believe the latter happened that could explain the presence of land bridges that ancient Malaysians used to travel to occupy Mindanao.

When I saw the coastal road on youTube, I was excited about it because it displayed (perhaps) the development of Davao (which is still going very slow...I've been coming here almost every year since 2007...it's such a slow starter compares to Cebu City and/or Manila)....untill I saw it in real life a few months ago. I thought : sayang of the view and the coastline and for the people living in that area. Also, the park..it was such a nice place to relax and watch the ocean and hear the water...and there was a surfing spot......now, there is nothing left of that beautiful view. But like you said Anselm: we don't live in a perfect world.

Great video. Remembered walking on a foot path amidst tall cogon grass and corn fields to go to Times Beach from Matina. Got lost amongst the mangroves. Thank God, we hit the Bangkerohan River which we followed to find our way back. Used to go swimming at Talomo Beach where there was a Japanese ship wreckage from WW2. Great memories. Thanks.

Now yet another place to put on my bucket list. My bucket will soon be overflowing lol. I think that road is a great idea not just to keep traffic flowing better but you got a great view all the way along. It will also serve as a great breakwater when there are storms.
