Just to add to some of the other advice here, the spell Abyssal Transfixion is available from the demon in the Necrologos Treasure leve found in Ishgard, it's around level 57. The spell itself does more damage than drill cannon, is single target (can't accidentally clip boss when hitting Angons) and has better range than sharpened knife. It's also piecing damage so you don't have to worry about that. I recommend using it at range and otherwise using sharpened knife for more mobility, doing this with about 200 ilvl you can skip the last Angon phase and potentially get him low enough on phase 3 that you don't need to dodge plaincracker (remember you can use moon flute right after you use loom to squeeze in enough damage to get him to around 44%. Toad oil may also help you ensure the kill and you can cast that before off guard before you pull on the last phase)
Earlier today, I decided to go ahead and take on Azulmagia even though I haven't finished all the other Masked Carnivale fights yet. Thank you for taking the time out to go over your spells before showing off your run and actually calling out what you were doing; most of the guides for the fight I've seen on TH-cam just show the gameplay without going into detail on the setup. I hadn't been planning on going for the achievement, but decided to go for it after watching your guide. It took me a few attempts to get to the point where I was able to successfully execute the first two acts, but after a few dozen failed attempts, I took a short break to get some dinner, then came back to it and managed to pull it off! Final attempt took 5 minutes, 24 seconds. I did go with a few different spell choices from what you used in the video - I went with Sonic Boom instead of Feather Rain, Eruption instead of Flame Thrower, Shock Strike instead of Glower, Surpanakha instead of Plaincracker, and Abyssal Transfixion instead of Drill Cannons. Thanks again for this great guide; if any of my friends ever decide they want to give Blue Mage a try, I'll be sure to point them this way.
Great walkthrough of it. Notes for people: Sonic Boom in Act 1 (and Act 3 if you get to the magic stage) is far faster, longer range, and does more damage than Glower. Also, Song of Torment does about 2500 damage overall (vs 900ish) over its 30 second DoT, and works great in Act 1. Sharpened Knives is faster and does more/casts faster in Act 2 (and Act 3 in the first physical stage), but requires you to be in melee range. Again, awesome video and win, with clear instructions for people. Love it!

Just wanted to make a note cause I was having an issue with the last phase and I couldn't understand how I was taking damage, cause I was using the correct type of abilities and not standing in anything. It turned out that sharpened knife was turning on auto attack. After I realized that, I just didn't use it at all in third phase at all where he switches between magic and physical damage. I used it in second phase to get slashing done and that's it.
Thankfully I got my Perfect Blue title before they added Brush with Death to SD and Final Sting. Still was fun to go for. Also, Snort works in place of Garuda’s spell, though it obviously won’t do any damage. Still counts toward Elemental Mastery nonetheless.
For wind, Sonic Boom works too. (Anzus in Sea of Clouds) or Alpine Draft. (Gryphons in Sea of Clouds) For Fire Eruption. (Ifrit) For ice, Glass knives. (Shiva) For earth, Supanakha. (Ravana) For lightning, Shock strike. (Ramuh)
I gotta say, this was a particularly annyoing achievement to get, moatly because the 3rd act has him use plaincracker when the charybdis maelstroms are up, and it can be hard to see where a safe spot is. But it's also much easier now, thanks to the new spells like Sonic Boom and Whistle
not arguing about meoni's genius, but blue mage and this fight has been out since last expansion. . . the only new content mentioned is when he mentions the level cap increase and the new spells that he hasn't gotten yet.
Thanks for the guide. I keep getting stuck on P3 and now I guess at 40% I go boom? There's also something weird today where sometimes his ram's voice range is so large that I safely got maybe 1.5x distance from the center it and still got caught.
Hey quick thought came to me what if they added blue (and other limited jobs) to the pvp. The way it could work is just pick like 10 12 spells then just drop in and have fun. This would add a little bit of experimentation and unpredictability to pvp which can be fun.
I do not recall one way or the other, but if he isn’t immune to Faze you can Faze - Knife Knife Knife Faze Knife swift cast Knife for huge damage to save time in Act 2.
Faze doest work in the boss (plus no DPS). Also if you only knife in the second act (physical only parts) you won't get the achievement as you need to use all 3 physical damage types.
Did you use all 6 magic elements + all 3 physical ones (slashing/piercing/blunt) ? Did you not take a single hit of damage ? Especially important due to his reflecting damage, you always gotta be mindful of which type of attack to use in certain moments ... Did you clear in required time for Too Fast too furious ? And lastly did you not use Devour, as that one apparently is causing issues for players all over ?
Be very careful you don't accidentally auto attack him when you go in for peculiar light, that's what kept getting me and I didn't realize until I checked the battle log.
@@maxjonsson7651 Yeah, below 7 mins, 6 elements 3 physical ones, no hit, or anything, still no achieve, I even avoid casting nearby in case I auto attack by mistake, still nothing.
@@LumiereInfinity Once you finish him you should be able to see your achieved feats in the points screen. Do you have "Total Mastery", "Cant touch this" and "Too fast too furious" when you get to that overview ? If you do the last thing I could think of is maybe to avoid using sprint for "A walk in the park" as some people think its required too.

If you have trouble, bring up the loom targeting reticle at the end of web so you can hit it as soon as the aoe comes out, should help you make the window for a second one
Its super easy to level blu, can solo kill things 8 lvls above you and ding 60 in a few hrs, or have a friend not in party, kill high lvl mobs you tag and ding 60 in 30-45mins. I see people trying to exp blu in dungeons or fates, and refuse to believe that killing regular crap just walking around is worth far more xp, it hurts my head when they get mad at me for telling them a random mob that takes maybe 20secs to kill is worth more xp than that whole dungeon they've been PF'ing for 2hrs for.
I managed to get to 60 within about 4-5 hours. I used the two beast tribes, Vanu Vanu, and Vath, as a bit of an exp boost. I also had the earring from the preorder of Shb. Your best bet really is just to smack at mobs. You get more exp from chaining mobs then you do from doing HW fates. And don't try and go higher into the sb areas. You get less exp from a 61 mob as a blue mage then you do from a 58 mob as a blue mage.
@@ValcristGrimhowl I personally tested that, well not the dungeon one but the mob vs fate idea. Fates gave like 60k, a single unchained mob gave 96k at lvl58. And if you chain them, I had it go up to 114k exp per mob. I was able to go from level 59 to 60 by soloing Anzu in the sea of clouds in about maybe 15 minutes by starting with song of torment, (I had my chocobo out,) and spamming missile until it was low enough then doing 2 or 3 sonic booms to finish. My chocobo is level 19 but I had them on tank stance and they were able to keep the mob off me while I smacked it.
If you enjoy it then you get something out of it. Try it out and see if you have fun. Most things in MMOs are inherently worthless because when a new patch/expansion comes out, you have to go through the leveling/gear grinding process anyway. And eventually when the game servers go down, your effort will have been wasted anyway.

He doesnt auto attack though. I think you might be taking reflected damage from when you use a spell on him when he has Ice Spikes or Repelling Spray set up

Theres a new wind spell you can obtain through the level 51 dungeon.

I spent a free afternoon leveling my BLU from lv.10 to 60 by just killing mobs in Azys Lla.
Still debating whether to bother with Blu Mage or not, just seems like a lot for nothing.

Dodging aoes is easy for me, but he hits me with auto attacks when I'm too close next to him. And I think they count as dmg as well.
