I absolutely LOVE MY CSX3. I have quite an expensive rig and this is easily the best thing on it. I’ve got a pretty cool RGB profile for both lights and RGB rev counter if anybody wants a copy. Auto dimming when headlights activate and a bunch of features programmed to make the wheel interactive.
I'd be very interested. Got my wheel a week ago and I am looking for a profile exchange place, but had no luck with it. BTW, my screen does not flicker at lower brightness at all.
Cheers Will, I hoped this video would help me decide!! CSX3 or GSI but no 😂 spending all that money and you just can’t go to a shop to try before you buy!! Now thinking go for an F pro and a decent 5” screen !!!
I’m not sure I actually like the new rpm triangle style leds. It would be for me personally way cleaner with just normal circular leds. And to get off that plastic around the display. Otherwise it looks like the end game wheel.
I'm really sorry, I always inadvertently want to look at the screen in the middle when I'm listening to your explanation. This is probably because I'm an LCD screen manufacturer. The video is really great, I hope to watch your amazing content every day😀😀
Does the touch screen work with golves on? I would love to see you get your hands on some VPG wheel rims as they fall in line with this same price point. The VPG RSPG still gets my vote, 300mm and seems to be a nice compromise between this and the GSI
As an owner of a CSX2 for going on 18 months, i can say.. 1. The CSX2 is bulletproof. I've never had an issue and Cube Control products kick arse. 2. Within the UGT software, there is an option to automatically turn the wheel on and off with UGT Manager. This was added 12 months ago and there is no need for a power button. 3. The Cube Controls CX2 Layout with UGT is awesome. its a shame Asetek bought UGT as its infinitely better than what you showed here with Simhub. 4. The CSX3 looks great (better than the CSX2) and if i was in the market for a wheel, id get it. iRacing, ACC, AM2 to F1.... 5. Wear gloves, save your wheel. Mine still looks brand new.
@@vanoerlers I don't find that. I'm running a lot of third-party apps and the UGT software is fine. Swings and roundabouts, I don't own a CSX3 and haven't used Simhub for the dash display but IMO the Simhub software shown in the video is nowhere near as nice as the layout the guys at Cube Controls built for UGT.
you said that some usb hubs don't shut down when the pc shuts down. This has to do with a setting in the bios of your motherboard with which you can enable or disable the power of the usb ports on the pc upon shutdown. This would also solve the problem of the wheel staying lit.
You should try to get your hands on a Rexing Mayaris Formula Wheel... not a lot of reviews on it at all and a great high end full carbon fiber wheel. Also closely matched in price with this. Just a thought!
Overall I love mine. However, I did find the shifters to be an issue for me. No matter how tight I tighten them, a few laps into the race the paddles tilt out of place. Very frustrating and have already contacted CC and they have been VERY responsive.
So far no solution, started my emails with them late last week. They’ve been quick to respond to me and said they’ll work on a solution and will keep me updated. Not going to get too upset yet, hopefully they’ll follow through. Other than that big issue, I do love it.
Hmmnne. Tempted to add a CSX3 to my collection but.. I already have a CSX2, now besides some of the updated features and so forth. I honestly don't see any point in me spending another thousand odd euros for a wheel thats not all that much different to my CSX2. Anyone got any thoughts on this? I love the splurge cash as much as the next, but splurging this much on a singular wheel when I already have pretty much the same thing, hmmne?
You mentioned the only major difference between the fpro and this wheel being the display - there is one other huge difference to mention, namely the wireless Bluetooth connection option - which is a huge thing if you don’t want to have to mess with a cable connection. I’m using an fpro with simhub over BT and it works very well with no cable hassles. I really want the cx3 but don’t think I can handle the cable thing again. All my other wheels are wireless now as well and I just can’t go back to cables!
Will question please. I've been on the fence on what wheel to buy either the GSI or CSX3 on my VRS wheel base. I have larger hands but, both look accommodating. So this maybe subjective does the size of the wheel play into the feedback you receive while driving. Meaning does either wheel feel it has more or less feedback? It may seem like a silly question but, I wanted to ask. I'm was leaning towards the GSI being larger as I drive no open wheel cars but, the CSX3 looks like a high quality on the buttons and rotary switches and sounds like the shifts are a little quieter. Will Thanks so much for the time an effort you put into your videos! I big fan your channel here in the USA!
I have a GSI formula pro elite & i have USB issues (i have Intel processor) where my usb disconnects & buttons stop working. Has anyone experienced something like this or data output issues with the CSX 3? thanks!
Awesome review as always! This made me shift a bit, but the comments about the plastic around the screen is making me hesitate a bit.. Whats your favourite wheel @boosted?
After a year of using it the flaws of this wheel show: the springs of the clutch paddles break if used regularly. I got it replaced under warranty but I fear that it happens again after another year of usage. The worst though is central: The fixation of the shifter paddles is only done by one axis with 2 screws. If pressed a bit harder they move. Just not acceptable for a central part of a wheel. Simply a design fail there. Other than that the wheel would be perfect. Magnetic attachment of cable, amount of buttons, switches and so on. Touch screen with sim lab, grip, ergonomics.
I’ve got a GSI pro elite & an fpro - the fpro with that grid Porsche screen looks to be as close to perfection as it gets. The GSI is nice but the turning knobs etc on this feel far superior.
Yea, I have a GSI pro elite and the turn knobs are ridiculously flimsy for a product that feels very premium otherwise (not even to mention the price tag)
The rotary controls are not backwards, it is just like water down the drain. Being down under-and over has it's disadvantages. Thank you for the videos and excellent reviews, cheers! Shu/H|T/Hagakurve...
Wish I didn't buy the GSI FPE wheel I did. Not to happy with GSI at the moment. My FPE wheel keeps doing some weird thing where the shifters stop working while racing. I have to stop racing, unplug the usb from the back of the computer and replug it. I initially thought it was the cord I purchased from GSI so I switched out the cord and it continues to do that. I purchased the new GSI wheel the GT-Max 32 a few months ago and I have yet to receive it. They also wanted me to pay $50 dollars to switch 2 stickers on the wheel. 2 stickers that they already made but charge $25 dollars per sticker location change. I think GSI really did start off having customer service in mind but have swayed from that and are focusing on providing wheels to major companies. They do make nice wheels but I am really starting to like Cube Controls more and more. They make some sick wheels.
Look how thin the joints between the handles and the main body of the wheel are, and they want a small fortune for this. I'd rather spend the extra elsewhere lol.
I genuinely don't think this is an improvement over the CSX2. I really don't like how the screen is so set back and the plastic housing, it looks to me that cube controls have used the CSX2 wheel and had to figure out how to put the new screen into the existing model which then has become the CSX3. Im not a fan of the shift lights either they don't look as slick as the CSX2.

100% and when the decide to make an LED lit wheel itll be 2k
It’s midnight… now I. Gotta stay up and watch this
Haha. It'll still be the same video in the morning ;)
I just purchased the wheel, then saw this review. I don't regret it.
The detail in these videos are epic. Thanks team
Best thing i've upgraded so Far the wheel is super sturdy, and has so many customizations haven't even touched the surface
Got the F-Pro and love it. Must use with gloves. It's absolutely necessary or becomes slippery.
Thanks dude great video. I think I’ll pick one up when they fix the bezel issue. I’ve heard a couple of other channels say the same thing
Just got my CSX3 and would like to run that dash screen. I don't see it as a choice in simhub, where can I get it?
Cheers Will, I hoped this video would help me decide!! CSX3 or GSI but no 😂 spending all that money and you just can’t go to a shop to try before you buy!! Now thinking go for an F pro and a decent 5” screen !!!

@@fruitloopuk1238 still a great wheel (elite) and yes Astek still supports UGT.
@dibbRogueTrader thanks for the reply
1 major issue I had with the UGT software is the load it has on CPU side in comparison to a wheel using Simhub and the USB480 display.

@@Bgski70 It can be annoying, I love my wheel too
How wide is it from the widest points? Like total diameter. Grip-to-grip aren't exactly precise.
It seems kinda small ish?
It has everything bar working hand-clutches in iRacing.
Is it compatible whit every base? If no whit what is is compatible
Is this wheel compatible with the fanatec DD2 with a podium hub? I love the look and features of this wheel over the current fanatec offerings
i run this wheel on my DD2 with a podium hub , works great

smaller diameter wheels give a stronger FFB response than a larger wheel.
