45 This is Jehovah’s message to Cyrus, God’s anointed, whom he has chosen to conquer many lands. God shall empower his right hand, and he shall crush the strength of mighty kings. God shall open the gates of Babylon to him; the gates shall not be shut against him anymore. 2 I will go before you, Cyrus, and level the mountains and smash down the city gates of brass and iron bars. 3 And I will give you treasures hidden in the darkness, secret riches; and you will know that I am doing this-I, the Lord, the God of Israel, the one who calls you by your name.
4 And why have I named you for this work? For the sake of Jacob, my servant-Israel, my chosen. I called you by name when you didn’t know me. 5 I am Jehovah; there is no other God. I will strengthen you and send you out to victory even though you don’t know me, 6 and all the world from east to west will know there is no other God. I am Jehovah and there is no one else. I alone am God. 7 I form the light and make the dark. I send good times and bad. I, Jehovah, am he who does these things. 8 Open up, O heavens. Let the skies pour out their righteousness. Let salvation and righteousness sprout up together from the earth. I, Jehovah, created them.
9 Woe to the man who fights with his Creator. Does the pot argue with its maker? Does the clay dispute with him who forms it, saying, “Stop, you’re doing it wrong!” or the pot exclaim, “How clumsy can you be!”? 10 Woe to the baby just being born who squalls to his father and mother, “Why have you produced me? Can’t you do anything right at all?”
11 Jehovah, the Holy One of Israel, Israel’s Creator, says: What right have you to question what I do? Who are you to command me concerning the work of my hands? 12 I have made the earth and created man upon it. With my hands I have stretched out the heavens and commanded all the vast myriads of stars. 13 I have raised up Cyrus to fulfill my righteous purpose, and I will direct all his paths. He shall restore my city and free my captive people-and not for a reward!
Today I I really wanted to know about king Cyrus , because in Bible God says that he will give king Cyrus treasures hidden in the darkness ( I was curious about king Cyrus)...and now after seeing this video I thank God for such good explanation. I’m Iranian. Cyrus the Great was a Zoroastrian the oldest monotheistic religion prior to Judaism. He was raised as a son of shepherd then later became a King. What he had plenty of was tolerance and wisdom beyond his age and his time.
No Cyrus had a Mithraic belief and believed in Mithra, the persian sun god.

Be not confused by false interpretations Daniel 10 verse 21 Daniel 12 also Isaiah 41 great is the father of creation he is a living man not everyone in the universe is foolish ,God the Almighty is a masculine gender be not confused. Thank you for great presentation. Cyrus was great by all means. He ruled based on respect and tolerance. He pioneered the first free modern civilization of social freedom, equal gender, equal pay to both genders and abolished slavery evidenced by Clay tablets. Cyrus the Cylinder tell is it all. Cyrus was honored, respected and loved by friends and enemies alike.
Cyrus believed in three basic rules; Good Deeds, Good Words and Good Thoughts. It is funny how history praises more about the bad and the evil than the good and pure!

Cyrus the great was the believer of one God he gave praise to marduk to show respect to people nothing else.
Totally get it that's beautiful so beautiful so many similarities. Aren't the greatest riches stored in heaven ??? And what does the law and all the prophets hang on according to Jesus Christ? Jesus did say to call a person by their name that is by spirit alone do some research on Google for root names meanings it gets interesting friend! Great Study brother!!! It is about choosing the righteousness by love in love that God our Father in heaven by his Holy Spirit of love created the 1st man who's countenance fell and promised us by that same love in and through the ultimate denial for and by His great Love would save us? Cyrus the Great did not worship many gods! He respected the religion and beliefs of his subject peoples. Cyrus was actually a Zoroastrian which is the first monotheistic religion and worshiped one god called Ahura Mazda meaning wise lord in Persian language.

Cyrus wasn't a Zoroastrian. He had a Mithraic belief and worshipped Mithra. Dariush the first was the first Persian king with the Zoroastrian religion.Thats why there is no Ahura Mazda symbols on his thumb or anywhere else near him.

Just curious,Cyrus is referred to as the King of Persia...in Daniel the Lord says Daniel i heard your prayer the 1st day you called upon me but the Prince of Persia was delaying his answers hence God sent his Chief angel to fight him.Is there a connection here?
Cyrus was Persian. Persians are Iranian. Persia was renamed to Iran in the beginning of the 20th century
As an Iranian it is disgraceful for you to say this. Iran was always the name. Sassanians called it eranshahr, and the achaemenids called it airyanam vejah.

But as an Iranian I've should to mention not all that you've said about the king Cyrus is accurate, such as:
1) the king of Medes was the Cyrus's grandfather; Astyages who was not a good man. He has tried to kill his own daughter ( Mandane ; the princess of Medes) while she was pregnant with Cyrus the great after the dream that he had about a boy who is gonna take his kingdom and rule over him.( similar story before Jesus Christ was born)
2) God had arranged everything that Cyrus grew up with a shepherd family till he was around 7-8 years old to protect Cyrus's life.
That's the reason that God called Cyrus as his shepherd.
And that's why Cyrus's character was not like a self-righteous, prideful, arrogant king but he was humble,gentle, kind, compassionate and had a heart as a shepherd.
3) some believe that the reason Cyrus the great had conquered the Babylon was beacause the prophet Daniel could to talk with Cyrus the great and he did read Isaiah 45 to Cyrus. And the holy spirit led Cyrus how to enter to the Babylon. Since it was impossible to enter to the Babylon through the door or from the walls. The holy spirit led Cyrus to this divine strategy to enter to the Babylon through the river close by and open the gate for the army from the inside.of course the people didn't tey to fight with Cyrus, since they were happy to be free from their cruel babylonians king ,as you've also mentioned it.
4) God didn't chosen the Cyrus or any one of us like 150 or 200 years ago. He knew his chosen people before the foundation of the world and created every one of us uniquely to fully his divine purposes
Through the life that he granted to us to cooperate with him ; as the only true living God to expand his holy kingdom on the earth.

Zorastrain religion believes in 1 GOD unlike your Christianity that is copying methraism of us Iranians when you speak of us do so with proper respect and stop insulting us the lord of zoroastrian religion is the same lord of all religions as it is the one true GOD and when king of kings Kurosh (Cyrus) prayers it is because he knows his God is the God of God's as he was not just king of kings but also a prophet of GOD show him proper respect
The story of king Cyrus ( Zulqarnain) in the Quran potrays him as a just and kind ruler. He is a Monothiest and believes in One God just as in Isaiah 45 hence the history that he thanks and worships other gods (paganism/polythiest) is false information as proved by the scripture. How can God's annointed honor false deities?
God anoints and uses whoever he wants, despite of their flaws. The anointed ones are not perfect people, they still sin. That's one big difference about the Bible and the Quran. The Bible is transparent about people's sins. That's how you can trust the Bible, it hides nothing. It writes about the good, bad, and ugly about people and their sinful nature.
@@PastorKCLiu So what does it want us to learn at the end of the day? Thats its okay to be bad or sin and you still get away with it? How do we get motivated or encouraged to be good then if we can equally be bad and not be brought to book? Who are the spiritual role models to look upon? How do we realize the difference if engaging in sinful act or otherwise is indifferent. Whatever is mentioned in a scripture should serve as a warning or as a glad tiding. But in a situation whereby its clearly indicated that u can sin and its just okay that means its encouraged and hence it shows a great flaw. Because that defies the sayings and laws of God. You do good; you get rewarded and you do bad you get punished. Even Manmade constitution is based on that,simple. The reason why spiritual leaders of all faith are so respected is because they donot engage in any sinful act. We all know how difficult it is to live a complete life as prescribed for us and thats why we so much respect and salute the pious ones amongst us; Let alone The Prophets of God Peace Be Upon Them.

The Book of Daniel confuses Cyrus the Great with the character, Darius the Mede. Darius the Mede never existed.
It's not Satan in the popular sense that God sends or allows to do evil. Angels are Gods messengers and they do H)is work:
"Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?" (Hebrews1:14)
God sent destroying angels to kill male firstborns as the 10th plague.(Exodus 12:23). God sent the terrible trials Job endured and this is how he answered his wife who said that he should curse God and die:
"But he said to her, “You speak as one of the foolish women speaks. Shall we indeed accept good from God, and shall we not accept adversity?” In all this Job did not sin with his lips." (Job 2:10)
When God punished his people for going astray and worshipping idols, false Gods, God sent evil against them usually in the form of victorious enemies. There is no need for the popular Satan, he is a myth. As for moral evil that comes from within us.
"But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death." (James 1:14,15)
To say Cyrus was a polytheist because of his religious tolerance and supreme level of diplomacy is a huge disservice to Cyrus.
He worshipped Ahura Mazda, and to understand why Cyrus was all these great things you mentioned of him, you should get to know the incredible God he worshipped Ahura Mazda.
