I already own all three and love them. This is a great offer and perfect for someone who wants to try out the programs. I’m self taught and amazed at what I’ve been able to create. I’m not a graphic designer, but I create digital content and publish books on Amazon. I’d say go for the trial. Nothing to lose. 😊📚
Exactly! Laurie if you're doing all those things you are a designer! Thank you for the continued support here on the channel and adding your input. Truly appreciated ed.
I made the switch a week ago. I have had the Affinity suite for over a year and have been increasing the amount of live jobs for clients steadily and have now take the plunge and ditched Adobe.
Good for you! scary I'm sure but Affinity is more than capable. Thanks for watching and letting others know you've made the transition in working with clients while using Affinity. Awesome!
I tried Affinity a 2 years ago and have not look backed. I was never going to pay Adobe rent. You know your software is good when you raise the price, and almost everyone embraces it.
It's always good to hear from people with photography experience about Affinity. I mostly do photo compositions so i'm not super advanced with it. How far off are they from making it very impressive?
@@bydesignmethod They’re close, it seems AP is good for making composite photos, but as I’m a semi professional photographer, I would prefer something similar more to lightroom, where you could do more powerful RAW editing. As a semi pro, I’m not allowed to add or subtract using certain features
I already have the full Affinity package, but those thinking of it this is a very cool idea and a good way to lead the market in design software. I have not used publisher much, but the photo and designer is right up there with adobe, and in some cases exceeds it. I was an Adobe user until Affinity 1 came out when I bought it and I've not looked back.
Thank you Dandy! I feel the exact same way. No real limits with Affinity, everyone thinking about switching or getting into design should go grab the free trial! Thanks for watching and leaving that input, much appreciated!
A free trial for six months! I tried it out.. got as far as 8 days using it and bought AF2 for my PC and Mac.. does everything PS does without those rip off subscriptions. At the price Affinity are giving you it just now it's a no brainer!
Try Affinity Designer 2 You have both Raster and Vector layers, plus you use Artboards to work on several conepts at once. in one file. You can always use the export feature to separate them.
that's awesome! I'm always learning something new with Affinity. It's definitely has a learning curve but it's so powerful. The best part is playing around and creating stuff while learning. If you haven't checked out my beginner course the link is below in this video - everything you need to get started and understand most things!
Been using Adobe for just over a year now. Came upon this video and I am downloading free trial Affinity now. Let’s see what gives in the next few weeks.
Thank you for watching. Give Affinity a shot, it's really powerful. Some things will seem familiar to you and others things will take some learning - I think things are easier in Affinity personally. You got nothing to lose! I have a full beginner course on TH-cam if you want to learn more. Thanks again!
@@bydesignmethod Thank you. Will check out the tutorials shortly. The six months free trial sounds very reasonable. I shall have learnt a lot even before the end of that six months. Seems everyone’s leaving Adobe after all. There must be reason for that.
At this point, the only viable alternative lacking is for a program like Adobe After Effects. I know Resolve Fusion is there but it's node based and often tedious to accomplish things that were easily accomplished in After Effects.
Hey, I agree about Fusion, I know it's powerful but tricky to get ahold of. After Effects seemed to have more logic. Thank you for watching and leaving your input, greatly appreciated!
This might not give the exact functionality of After Effects; but Fusion has introduced "layer-like" workflow. th-cam.com/video/pbu5uNIRu3w/w-d-xo.html
Definitely cheap! you could give designer and publisher a shot. I wasn't interesting in them but bought the suite years ago to support Serif and really started using Designer a lot.
LOL sounds like I should have waited to buy the 3 products I purchased several weeks ago after the Adobe debacle. So far, I have not regretted the purchase despite having to learn new software. I just hope the new owners of Affinity don’t institute subscription based plans after the new free 6 month trial or drastically increase the price of the software in a newer version.
You shouldn't have any regrets as you stated, it's great software. I truly hope for the same - this is what made Affinity unique and still a company that was 'one of us' time will tell but i'm hopeful thank you so much for watching!
@@bydesignmethod Now that I am finally figuring out how to do a few things, I actually like Affinity better than Photoshop. It seems easier to use in many ways. I am not a professional photographer or a graphic artist. I create for crafting projects for myself. I could deal with Adobe while I was working but now I am retired and on a fixed income I was worried I would have to give up creating digitals. Affinity has made it possible to keep on creating.
Heard this just recently, not sure if it was you or not in another video. Seems like an easy thing and I agree.. unfortunately if you've been paying for photoshop since they started subscription you would have paid thousands of dollars by now. No thanks!
this is a very, very, very good point about affinity I think the main problem with it is is that there’s not enough professional not even tutorials out there but even examples of work they need to hire some evangelist that actually used to work with Adobe because the main problem is as I own an agency I tried using affinity designer a couple times and there’s just some things that it’s still doesn’t do that. Illustrator doesn’t until that happens. It’s just no way to do it. I tried actually use it a while ago I always get the impression that with affinity at least until recently there certain things they just don’t wanna change that would really I think bring more professionals over that’s just my opinion.
@@roguewavecreative Designer definitely still can't do some things. Image trace being a big one I think. I'm hopeful those changes will come soon and it will allow designers to choose and be able to do the work they desire. Thanks so much for watching and adding your input! much appreciated.
I would like to switch from Adobe. But seeing all the bad hings that are happening in the software market now, I have some concerns. What does the future hold for Affinity Suite after Canva purchases Sariff? Can we be sure that the perpetual licensing model will be maintained? Will the new version be available only by subscription?
Hey, Totally understand where you're coming from and that was a big concern upon that announcement. I've since seen Affinity reply multiple times about their 'pledge' to keep things the same when that concern was brought up in comment sections. I'm truly hopeful, Affinity really listens to their customers and I will continue to support them. I don't know what the future holds but fingers crossed. Thanks for watching and adding your input!
I believe this 6 months trial is really about trying to get as many people onboard as possible in order to be confident in being able to switch over to subscription based pricing. And they've already announced that their being bought out by a company that already has subscription pricing so there's no question about where this is going. First, they'll offer both pricing models as they continue to get more people onboard. Then they'll spring the trap. I think the problem is that Canva probably needs to see a bigger userbase than what Serif currently has so Serif is getting aggressive to get new customers. You should have seen how aggressive they were back in the day. They used to call my home and high pressure try to sell me their earlier products.
I do hear that a lot from people, I've seen Affinity comment back to users and normally state they have no current plans for it. We will see what the future holds. Thank you so much for watching.
I'm not against Affinity...its just not for me. I tried it for almost 8 months, I was more frustrated working with Affinity as I went on, Adobe is too ingrained LOL
Erm, I only learnt of Affinity like yesterday and now they’re offering it free for 6 months… Affinity maybe more dangerous than Adobe ever was 😂 They can read my mind lol
LOL... Affinity is applying some pressure to Adobe. It's a unique time right now but I can't say enough good things about Affinity. Truly love their stuff.

I do love affinity products, but they’re a bit weak when it comes to the RAW editor. It needs HSL adjustments, plus camera profiles/calibration
