They were scared to play man without Riley Moss. Levi Wallace likely woulda been cooked in man regardless of who was across from him (Elijah Moore is fast himself). Zone protects him, and then gives you a chance to intercept Jameis which is he wont to do as proven. Hard to say if it was the right strategy but I think that was the strategy to force turnovers on Jameis in exchange for yards
Jameis had 500 yards against Denver's injured defense, and they still held the Browns to 32 points. They still had 3 ints and 2 of those were pick 6's. That's still pretty impressive.
