Blake Cashman is the key to this game. The Lions haven't played the Vikings with him covering the middle. 2 of those 4 wins were with Nick Mullins starting as well. Detroit is a machine I get that. But if Goff were out for an entire 2 game season series I'd bring that up if the Vikings beat them. I personally think this was Detroits year but the injuries may be too much to overcome. They might not ever get another shot like this where they were clearly the best team in the league. It happened to the Vikings in 09 & we missed out as well.

As a Lion fan, I would love to see the Vikings let Darnold go. I watched the Wolverines and believe me, J J Mcarthy is not an NFL level quarterback. He was on a team with the #1 defense in the nation and an incredible running game.

Campbell didn’t play his starters against SF because of “grit”. It’s because teams can only have 7 inactive players on the gameday roster, and the starters practiced all week thinking this game could be for the 1-seed. After the game he explained: which guys are you going to sit and which guys play? Effectively saying that their health isn’t as important as those other 7. And is it fair to the reserves that you would start without practicing with the first team that week?

Is it fair a 14 win team has to go on the road for the playoffs? Of course not. But the league wants winning and losing your division to mean something. As for this game, Ford Field is gonna rock like never before. Yeah, the defense is held together with bailing wire and bubble gum but the Lions are at home and they are 4-0 in Sunday night prime time games in the regular season under Coach Campbell. They live for this stuff. I say Jake kicks a 55 yarder as time expires. The over/under was 52.5 now it's at 58. Take the over before it gets to 70. This one will be a shootout.
