I bet those cooler temperatures at the elevations make a big difference during the peak summer heat. Very cool that they have a fire department way back in there. Thanks for the tour of DMR. This saved me from damaging my suspension by viewing this video instead of driving myself. Too bad they don't pave that main road. I'm pretty sure their business would be booming if they would just pave that road!
Most of the people that live out there don’t want others out there. If the roads were paved too many people would venture in. I know. I have property out there.
I've seen homes in DMR on Zillow . The land is just beautiful. I've never driven back there while in Ft Davis....I'm glad I got to see the roads. Thanks for the ride.

What a coincidence, I was joking the other day wondering if "The Republic of Texas Embassy" still stood out there in Davis Mountains Resort haha. I've been interested in property out there at the DMR, one thing that concerns me about that area is only one way out in the event of a wildfire.

I just looked it up, what a strange situation!!! They even had their own money printed 😆 incredible!! Loved the old fire station too… what a unique building!! I think it would be extra pretty in a year with more rain, greened up. On the DMR website I see something about Davis Mtns Redezvous. What is that? I had forgotten about the McLaren story but I do now remember reading about it in the papers. Probably the biggest ruckus since the fort was active! One of your viewers Travis T has a channel with hikes through "Davis Mountains Preserve". Very interesting!

The rendezvous is a 3 day mountain man themed camping event, with black powder muzzle loading rifle and pistol competition, knife and tomahawk throwing, and archery competitions. Y'all c'mon out, and support the community!

It’s actually a pond. It dries up and fills up depending on the monsoon season.
