@Chaz Starkey in all honestly I just enjoy Earthworm Jim the game is entertaining to play the show is cool my action figure is well made showing how good he is and it is very inspiring how you can make a worm in a suit so popular and funny also I can add worms are my 'fav bug but I jest like Earthworm Jim also I love his war cry: EAT DIRT!!!

I a kid from the new generation I love old school video games and this is one of them.
like Spyro, Crash, and Medievil: Earth Worm Jim should get a remaster or at least a re-release for all games in one big collection for newer consols.

As a kid back in the 90's, I had the Earthworm Jim action figure. His head was able to shoot out from the body, and I lost the head on the second day of owning the toy. I never played with that headless toy after that. Screw my childhood.

This is one of my favorite games of all times
I played these again recently, they haven't aged so well and may not have been that great to begin with. But the presentation and those awesome toys makes up for that for sure. And oh wow that cartoon show is just an underrated classic!
Mentioned gamers that remember this are hitting their 30's an 40's. Man, I grew up with these now-obscure titles like EWJ and Vectorman. Played them quite often; it would be an absolute blast to be hired to work on a revival project now that we are older and have professional talents/trades.
I don’t want to work on revivals that have to cut through tons of bureaucracy for the IP’s. But I’m working on a throwback Earthworm Jim/ Rocket Knight hybrid game.

A new 2D or 2.5D Earthworm Jim title would work just as well today.
Nothing hurts quite as much as hearing "Earthworm Jim's resurgence may just be at hand" then immediately scrolling down to see that this video is four years old.

I sort of remember the cartoon but I don't recall the game/franchise being that big (Sonic, Mario, Street Fighter etc. were the big ones), I only discovered it years later. I can appreciate how advanced the game was for the 16-bit era, it's still highly playable now. Shame they pulled the HD remake from PSN/Xbox Live.

Earthworm Jim let out a big "Hayyyohhh" as he got sucked into a hole in time. And the TV's continued to come down the conveyor belt forever.

24 year old here , grew up playing Earthworm Jim 2 for Genesis religiously . I loved my genesis and wish I would have gotten more games for it back then

They were bought by Bethesda, as far as I know. And this is how Bethesda got the rights to the Fallout series.

With games like Earthworm Jim and Toe Jam & Earl, the Sega Genesis era was one of the coolest and most creative generations ever. The 90s was truly the best decade for gaming.

The SNES version was cool as well! I had both consoles back then and had this game on both - just because.
I preferred it on the SNES. People keep saying EWJ was one of the rare games that played better on the Genesis, but I just don't see it.
I think the Sega CD/Windows version would probably beat it.

Does anyone actually own the rights to EWJ? Interplay went belly up and I know they kept ownership of a lot of their IP so EWJ is probably just waiting for someone to buy it back.
It's too bad the Amico is vaporware otherwise a new Earthworm Jim would had a chance. Hopefully they move the project to better platforms.

Played this so much with my dad when i was a toddler, and i now have the collectors golden disc but dont have a sega genisis console to play it on🥲
I was a cartoon only fan....and I sought out what was recent for Jim. I remember drawing my doodles with offset eyes and I think that was all because of the blind earthworm that became hero... Good ol' Jim. It's would be FANTASTIC if Jim had kids now and they became a family of earthworm heroes. They all better not share the suit. That's problematic. GenX !!!
Growing up with Ace Ventura at the same time, I keep envisioning Jim Carey being the perfect AI voice over for a movie based on the game.

I tend to cruise through games like Sekeiro and Dark Souls these days.. but in my beginning I used to get SO mad at Earthworm Jim, and those damn flying puppies. That's how deep this game hits for me, right in my Childhood.
At the very least, I want a collection release for modern consoles.

Earthworm Jim 2, while not hated per se, isn't universally loved, it's at best, divisive. It completely changed the tune, upped the grossout, hampered itself with gimmicks, and due to the fact that more than half the original content was cut (including roller coaster rides and a fight with Evil the Cat), it's full of half-stages.
You failed.
You should have mentioned that a new game was goin' to be released in 2007 for the PSP but was cancelled. The only thing that lefts are some videos showing a terribly animated 3d New Junk City and an even worst looking 3d Jim.
Also I don't know if anyone will play the new game because it's exclusive to a new weird console.

Just got my EWJ comic book from Dougs Kickstarter last week! As a dumb kid I loved EWJ 3D. Menace 2 the galaxy, now there’s the real stinker.
Yeah EWJ3D isn't as bad as people make it out to be, sure it ain't no SM64, Rayman 2 or banjo but it definitively has its charm.
I remember playing the ewj game that was supposed to be a sequal for psp at a event to bad it never took off it was really fun

This is an easy fix,, All they have to do is re release the HD again on the Xbox and remake the second part. Once the console comes out. As soon as the sales start to drop they can release the new EWJ on the Xbox also as the 3rd game. Discarding the 3d version. And make the new game the 3rd part.. we all love EWJ but I would not buy another console just for that game..

@@randybradley4151 that's what I just said.. The new game is not gonna make much money because not everyone is buying the new console.. so when sales start to drop they can release the game on the Xbox as a 3rd installment of the series. Also re releasing 1 and 2.
