First of all I have to apologize for no mic audio but the room we were was very noisy so I just captured game audio, about the run we had a horrible mistakes in stage 4 "base 2" and we totally failed reducing lag at stage 7 "Hangar" probably without those mistakes this could have been a 10:18 but we are happy with the result, thanks for watching this World Record of this amazing game. In Contra speedruns "Low% Co-op" means that you have to play in cooperative mode (2 players) and grabbing weapons is prohibited.

I know how you feel dude... i've played it in 4 years old and even too i was so dumb in that moment... cuz i though the "S" was "super" bc it shoots 3 red balls (bullets) at the same time, but then i realized that the "S" means shotgun ;_; (also, in that moment... i always get stuck in the level 3.)

Remembering the good old days. Contra one of my favourite games. We used to get the cartridge and plug it on our little master video game I have completed the entire levels in 1 life without loosing in any level. 1 of the best games ever played pre PlayStation times. Amazing to recreate and remember the childhood days.

This was a pleasure to watch.
These two work in near-perfect concert while simultaneously seeming to not care about the other player at times.
Both of them have to correct perspective: the mission is to progress through the game while taking advantage of dual protagonist approach. That is how they achieved what they did. Well, that and probably a ridiculous amount of hours practicing.
So the power ups was just a distraction.... no wonder we all failed miserably
actually they could have done it faster if player one grabbed the S power and player 2 as well
@@ElPhil I don't think so. The default gun shoots the fastest. Dps wise it's on par with the rest. Provides good control bursts and very little down time and since the screen has a cap on how fast it can move in any direction, there is little ot be gained from getting shotguns on both toons. Might look like a good choice if you're like the rest of us and don't leave any survivors :D

Might have been joking. But this does say its a Low% run. I'm assuming the low means no pickups. Looks like he actually actively avoided one in the slow level.

The S is the like the widespread or split gun (oof it's shotgun.) and the F is the Flamethrower. L is the laser.

What does low percentage means coz it feels like those bosses need energy drink. In my cases I got the ultra hard bosses who literally needed more hits.

This is the first video game I saw. Forget about playing, I was lucky to get a corner sit in my friends house, just to watch my friends playing this game. After 10 years I was finally able to play this game for the first time and it took forever for me to complete this game. Level 7 was the hardest for me at that time. For me this is the best video game ever made.

In my childhood days even 30 lives were less for me complete 8 stages so I used to feel unhappy for myself, then when in teenage life when I had Nokia phone i downloaded this game and completed 8 stages successfully my hapiness level was on another level, today's video relived me both feelings I had, best game ever i played with most badass sound ever.

I have to say that was quite impressive, My brother and i used to be really good at it. we used to play as a team and used to finish it without dying many times. it wasn't as fast as these guys but i think we must have finished it like 15-17 minutes.
