@@29fb040ich habe gehört das Leute es mit der Flex eingeschnitten haben und dann Schlauchschellen drum gemacht. Dieses Problem scheint die Antenne oft zu haben. Meine Sirtel S 2000 hat alle Stürme überlebt und steht seit 30 Jahren in einem Schrank. Leider gibt es die Antenne nicht mehr.
@@andik859 yes it seems to be the case.... But if you bought a new Mercedes car would you expect to have to put tyres on it before you drive it I think not..... So I do not expect to have to cut and add clips to a new antenna either... 73's
@@29fb040 this is mechanical italy made. Like FIAT we call it Fehler in allen Teilen. Say all items are wrong. But i find it is a nice antenna a friend have this model for over 30 years. When it rains a lot swr went up. I have with my Sirtel S 2000 never Problems. From which country you are ?
The Canada guy also says remember to use the locknut next time..... As you will see I asked him what lock nuts? As there are no lock nuts on a sirio 827 so I would take with a pinch of salt what Canada guy says but yes you are right there is as many happy with it as there is that had problems
Well I have a serio 827 and its been up for the last 7 years without any problems.I live in Canada and we have winds here up to 80 mph every winter . Still straight.The radials are the weekness, without the optional ring they are fragile.I suspect you did something wrong when assembling.Its one of the most popular antennas over here and no one i know as any problems.Remem ber to use lock nut next time.
Use lock nut 😂 😂 😂 there are no lock nuts supplied with an 827 only clamps for the bottom two sections and self tapping screws for the upper sections..... No lock nuts anywhere on a sirio 827....., so your talking crap buddy

2 of my screws came out and an element dropped down inside my 827... I guess tape the screws up...another thing i thought odd is that between the inner and outer of the so239 at the bottom of the antenna tests as a short...this is aparently normal...i got mines sorted today...its back up but not tested yet...a well made beast of an antenna
Study my video all screws and joint well taped with amalgamating tape look closely the tape is sheared apart also.... Beast my ass they are scrap metal
@@29fb040 ye well i hadnt seen your later vid...it was just as you took it down before the mods...mines bk up minus the radials dunno what swr is but it matches down...even with the amp on full...i measured the top section at 300mm too
@@kevimely7410 @kevimely7410 I'm not blaming my tools...... Say what you like you can take an imax 2000 out of the box and put it up no mods required.... Same with an antron 99...... And loads of other antennas too.... You'd expect to do the same with an 827..... Go look for yourself..... 90% of 827 owners have either slit the tubes and added more clips etc etc to stop them coming loose...... If you think that's an exceptable thing to have to do to an antenna your not near wise mate if an 827 needs this extra work done surely sirio should be doing it before sale..... Anyway as is out of the box it's scrap...... Only time will tell what it's like after my mods .... And the fact you say two of your screws came loose says the same thing doesn't it..... As is without extra work out of the box the sirio 827 is shit 🖕🤟✌️👌as for a bad workman I have worked in engineering making and assembling fork lift trucks I have more tools than I know I have and I certainty know how to use them
@@29fb040 i know laddo im sure youre well capable im just pulling your leg...your mods look pretty over the top but you gotta do what you gotta do...ive had half waves n five eighths and ive also had a sigma 4 copy years ago that snapped in half...this im pretty sure aint gonna snap...my fence is shoulder height and the bottom of the antenna radials are reachable when i stand on the fence...like i say it seems to be working ok thismorning...plenty propagation there and ive to get the radials back on yet...i had to half them cos im right next to a road and vans n lorries kept bending them...i thought you were in scotland but then i noticed 29 looked it up ireland...dunno bout you but its been rain rain and more rain here in sunderland...i live 4 miles north of the city and theres been major storms here...i got my fence pinned in 2 places never mind my antenna...i been using my g5 while 827 down...its quieter noise wise but signals arent as high...bit noisy thismorning with higher signals...what you using for a tranciever and power wise? And if its back up how high you got it and whats the results been like...kev...north east coast eng...26ke185
@@29fb040 ok then, I purchased this antenna for the spring, what needs to be done to prevent this from happening? I figure hose clamps and an additional couple of fine thread self tapping screws. Don't give me," buy a different antenna!" What in your opinion needs to be done for prevention?
I have never had a issue with my sirio 827 I live in Virginia USA
That's good and did you add anything to it other than the clamps and self tapping screws provided
