There’s also stats showing that hip hop artists have anywhere from 5 to 32 times higher chances of dying from murder. 2022 is the year with the highest amount of rapper deaths at 7. Fuckin 7 in one year. Wild. I encourage y’all to do some research on it, it’s really interesting to see how the frequency of murder is increasing in the era where so much of the music is about killing. Sad, but interesting 🤷♂️

I saw Boogie Down Productions in concert for the first time within 8 months of Scott La Rock being murdered. Many of the people my age that love hiphop do not know the impact of Scott's death. Had he not been murdered, there would have absolutely not been any boundaries to his production abilities. Many people view Premier, Pete Rock, Dr. Dre, RZA, Kanye West, and Dilla as the greatest hiphop producers ever. I am one of those people. However, Scott would have been right there with them. Two other people that were either murdered or killed in the late 1980s and early 1990s that would have had a huge impact on hiphop were Paul C and Subrock. I often think about what hiphop would have been or would be right now had they lived. Rest in peace to Scott, Paul, and Sub. God rest their souls.
