    This is the BEST bangs/fringe cutting tutorial on youtube! Thank you Amber. It gives me the confidence to cut my bangs again. My hair has become very thin and fine now that I am older and I was worried it would not work out, but your hair is straight and fine and your bangs look awesome!

    • @jsmum196

      Try the No Poo method. Your hair will become less thin. Shampoo and conditioner strip and your hair becomes very thin.

    Thank you! Love these bangs on you. When I cut my own I'm always trying to get them perfectly even. I love how yours are a little bit longer on one side and more random all around. It's more natural that way. Thanks again.

    Thank you so much for this video! I just cut my bangs and am thrilled with them! I tried doing it once before, but the tutorials I'd seen just didn't explain all of the really sensible stuff you talk about (making sure you get all of the hair that wants to fall forward, not taking too much from the sides, etc.) and I wasn't completely happy. Thanks!

    Great tips! I have been trimming my own bangs forever! I am the worst client, because I literally wait to get my hair cut until that one day when it just doesn't look good anymore. I am pretty carefree when it comes to my hair, I hate taking time out to go and get it done. I think I trim my bangs 3 or 4 times about once a month. I pretty much already did what you described but now I have a few more advanced tips to try out. Thank you for that. Plus I can try it out on my daughter. She needs her bangs trimmed right now.

    This is THE best and most simple video how to trim bangs on the net. You are lovely Amber! I saw your video of your nightly routine too. Your kids are so cute! I wish you lived in Georgia I'd make you my new hairdresser! There's many 'professionals' out there who have only ruined my hair and I wonder why that happens so much when they're professionals. I got bangs done and it was a little bang that had the hair fall over it like you said here. I ended up cutting my own bangs by bringing all the hair to the center of the face and it turned out much better. I'm scared of going to hairdressers now because I've had my hair wrecked but you do such a good job. If you ever move to Georgia let me know LOL :-) Look forward to more of your tips!

    Great video, very helpful. My hair is the color of yours and very fine but a lot of it but whenever I try to trim my own bangs I always get scissor marks or very blunt looking bangs. I have them side cut now and amazingly of all of the videos I've seen on side swept bangs they always do a triangle with the highest point in the center, your explanation of .asking the highest point at your part made perfect sense. I just got finished cutting 4 inches off my hair using another video and it came out beautifully layered with no scissor marks, can't wait to cut my bangs using your technique. Thank you so much!

    Hi pretty lady! Quick question. When you trim growing out bangs (I'm growing mine out, they're at nose level now) do you still have to angle them as they grow out (longer on the sides and shorter in the middle) or can you just pull them down and point cut straight across? I hope that made sense! ❤️

    • @Biceps.and.beauty
      @Biceps.and.beauty  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nicole Watson yes you can do either! I like to angle mine so they blend as they grow and they aren't as big of a chunk. But it depends on how much hair/how thick it is, how you want it to lay etc.. I find having layers around the face helps blend them in as well. hope that's helpful for ya!

  • @britlilala
    @britlilala 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    I got my bangs done recently and didn't find out until halfway through that the "stylist" was a highschool student who had only recently started an apprenticeship... She kinda mangled them. Uneven halfmoon bang (I asked for a blunt bang) and she totally cut in to my wispy temple bits. Now, I'm totally comfortable and experienced in trimming my bangs, but I went from them being down past my chin so I went to a "professional". I want to fix them, but should I wait for them to grow out a bit first? They're also way longer than I wanted but I was afraid to ask her to fix them... I'm not able to get back to a salon for quite some time still, so should I try to fix them myself or invest in some headbands and wait it out until I can get them done by someone who knows what they're doing?

    • @Biceps.and.beauty
      @Biceps.and.beauty  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Brittany Lane It depends what you are comfortable with, if they are longer than you want than you do have some wiggle room. You could always try to trim up the ends so they are more blunt instead of rounded around your face. I would maybe call and schedule an appointment with a professional and call a salon talk to them about your experience and tell them you are willing to wait for somebody who is experienced. You could always schedule your appointment for a month or two away that way when you need it, you have the appointment and you don't get stuck with another bad stylist. Good luck!

    I really have a problem, you see in this month most of my classmates made their bangs being cut so I want to follow but I don't have any budget to go to a parlor or salon or what so ever. I want to cut my own bangs and I want to make sure that it will bounce and not just lay flat there like dora, any ideas how to do that? Because your bangs usually bounce , i want to follow though

    • @Biceps.and.beauty
      @Biceps.and.beauty  10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A lot of that depends on your hair line and your cowlick, Having a teeny bit of a cowlick helps them bounce a little more, Also if you dry them straight down and then just run a big round brush through them for a few turns that will give them some lift but not make them too curled. Good luck! I hesitated for a few years before cutting mine, and I am so happy I finally cut it because I just love them!

    great explanation :)
    i have medium thick slightly blunt bangs and i want to make it less thick and maybe even a bit wispier where you can see the forehead a bit more. going too thick is hard to reverse unlike starting with see through bangs and adding in slowly more hair.

    • @Biceps.and.beauty
      @Biceps.and.beauty  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      To make them less thick, make long scissor cuts vertically into the bangs (not angled or you will take out a chunk) Or take them up like I showed how to layer them and cut a bit more there.

      Well, "bangs," actually. Sometimes, when it's called "fringe" here, it means thinner bangs. Sometimes "whispy bangs" are called "fringe."

    • @TheBeautyFlair

      This is due to the colorist or stylist using too much ash or neutral in the color formula

    arent u supposed to take a diamond parting for bangs not a round?

    • @Biceps.and.beauty
      @Biceps.and.beauty  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      depends how think you want them to be, and the shape of your head. For thick bangs you definitely can do a diamond parting. With haircutting there is always options to do what suits you best.

    You know bang is a sound? Why do Americans call them bangs? I’m intrigued to know.

    • @AC-vq7ts
      @AC-vq7ts 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Most people don't know why they're called bangs, most people have just accepted that that's what they're called but one reason they're called this is because when horses tails are cut, sometimes they're cut straight across and very short which is called a bang tail. This comes from the phrase bang off which means to end abruptly. I think that may have come from how when a gun is shot it makes a bang and then something is shot? Like "bang goes the gun, and barely a second later he dropped dead" so it could be used as "bang, he's dead" and that slowly evolved into other phrases? I don't have proof to back that part up it just makes sense to me.
