Yes I previously had a bottom spec 2001 Y Reg S80 2.4i and it was lovely car so relaxing to drive.
I actually found the cloth interior more comfortable was also heated as well, just a bit thirsty but to be expected I suppose.
      Thanks for watching 👍🏼

Daniel, if you want somewhat brighter illumination from the side markers you can use LED bulbs. However, not just any - most of them don't survive long in exterior installs. On my XC70 I've had excellent results with the Phillips Ultinon installed in the city light positions - I put them in back in 2016 and they are still fine. Actually I think any LED bulb similarly encapsulated in glass or plastic, sealed against weather, would work fine. In contrast, the ones that are LED emitters soldered onto printed circuits that are made to slide into the T10-style sockets have not lasted me more than a few months if at all in any exterior application. The other thing one can do to get somewhat more brightness from a W3W is to use the halogen ones, not conventional or "long-life." I have those in the in-mirror-housing turn signal repeater positions on the XC70, they work fine, they are brighter than the W3Ws were and have served a similarly long duration.

Yes I always use Osram or Phillips bulbs, would never use unbranded.
In the end I plugged my diagnostic system in and deactivated the DRL system, save burning out all the bulbs and bulb holders.

@@CarAddictGarageNE what i decided to do on monitored circuits, is just to use halogen bulbs. They are a little tricky to source and there's no power savings, but they are bright as long as they get full voltage.

Yes I tend to find the side markers on the older stuff are not monitored via can bus systems

Hi Dan, Came across your videos and really like your presentation and advice. Im looking to pick up a manual D5 Volvo V70 or S80 in SE or Lux spec.
Can i ask approx what you gave for yours and the Spec please?
Do you quote trade prices on the parts on the videos or what a keen diy like myself would pay?
Cheers. Keep up the good work and post an update on the S80 if you still have it.

I honestly can’t remember what I paid for the S80 as it was years ago now, but in todays market I would say around £2500 would be good price.
To be honest trade prices don’t even exist these days, I just find me parts on EBay usually orignal equipment new old stock.
Thanks for watching and commenting 👍🏼

@@CarAddictGarageNE Yip those dmf's aren't cheap but paying nearly £400 in tax /yr for an automatic with less mpg is way too much for any money pit.

@silversonic8392 yes and the automatics have issues also, only thing I will say if you check the tax on the manual ones, it won’t be much different I bet.
Plus avoid 06 plate or newer as you can end off with £700 tax band ones
