The era of "bro-science" really creates more confusion on technical stuffs, particularly automotive ones. Great to hear Hafriz set the notion straight that there is no bad consequences on using higher RON fuels in small-capacity engines. I wish there are Bahasa Melayu, Mandarin and Tamil versions of this video since we have large numbers of Msian netizens still spewing the false infos on petrol RON ratings and engine damage in their respective mother tongues.

YES! Finally! People always like to argue with me about this topic and never understands.. One of the reasons why I use 97 is because of the additives contained, cleaner fuel & less carbon buildups, etc..

RON 97 in malaysia( euro 4m) VS RON 95 (euro 2). it cleaner because of euro 4M ( less carbon than euro 2), not because of RON

I have tried RON97 (Petron) on my old LMST and I find that the performance was much better. But the price is 42 sen much more expensive.
If I could afford the price, my choice is RON97.

Using Proton Saga Premium S (1.3 engine). Using Shell RON 95 (Yellow).
Planning to go for a long car ride - 4-8 hours in 1 day.
    Should I use V-power 97 (green) or V-power Racing (red) ?
Not planning green / red for regular usage.
If I am paying higher once in a while, I can afford to buy the best fuel especially before long journeys.

Yeah, its just a benefit from the rons. The higher rons you used the higher performance doesnt matter how the big your engine displacement. I run a Proton Saga FLX 1.3. Sometimes i used ron97 for a long distance journey let say when im goin to Kedah. But when on a city driving like just in KL. Ron 95 is much more efficient and legit choice than i used ron97. Its actually depends how yours journey will take i guess. Thats my opinion

    Thank you so much brother.
Very very good information. That clears the doubt and issues.
After watching the said video, I was wondering, how come the more expensive fuel RON97 be bad for our cars?
I have tried using RON97 on my old LMST before and thought the performance was better than RON95.
Of course it's confusing to be told that this expensive fuel is bad for my car when I find that the performance is better.
Where did these people get their facts from?
Again, the question is if RON97 is on par with RON95 or lesser quality, then why is it sold 42 sen more expensive?
    Doesn't make sense to me.

If you mean short distance run I mean like 50km a day yes non of any fuel will damage your car but if you talk about long distance run like non stop 300km to 500km yes knocking will break ur engine ,most knocking occurs on pistons ring because there was the place extra fuel that not properly burn stay ,maybe you wrong about something correct me if I was wrong ecu don't sense knocking they only sense air and oxygen level inside exhaust which mean if ur car design to run 97 and you FIL it with 95 after everyburn the oxygen will rise there the ecu sense the oxygen rise and mean not enough fuel compression and it will adjust to send more fuel through the throttle body that why you use more fuel if you FIL 95 into 97 engine ,simple 95 is fast burn and 97 is slow burn ,a fast burn engine the spark duration was short it design most for 2 valve system if you fill 97 into a fast burn engine it will not burn all the fuel and the extra fuel will stay inside pistons chamber and when long run the engine hotter those extra fuel will start explode it self and that we call it knocking .

It’s funny there are people who actually believe RON 97 can increase HP and torque for their Perodua cars. Haven’t tried other cars but for Perodua specifically, it’s a placebo effect. It’s all in your mind if you feel any difference. There’s no evidence to show that it runs smoother, accelerates faster, protects your engine better etc. but because you paid more, your mind compensated for that by believing that it’s a more superior fuel
