    Awesome. Thanks for showing your cleaning supplies. Also I have tried third wave water in my kettle for Chemex stuff when I am at my parents house. They have RO water and it has like no minerals in it. Makes the water taste better for sure.

    Third wave and other mineral additives are designed to mix in distilled water or reverse osmosis water, where all the minerals are stripped to zero and you add those which are ideal for coffee extraction. They work well, but you can also make your own brew water from distilled water and a few ingredients. Wholelattelove has a good video about this topic.

    For understanding stale coffee you can also grind some coffee the day before and also set out a dose of beans open to the air at the same time. Then the next day grind the old beans and some fresh beans and take all 3 samples and poor hot water in and observe the bubbles that form

    What about temperature surfing with the steam button like you mentioned in another video? Does it still take 20-30 minutes to preheat ? I don’t have that kind of patience in the morning 😂 .. I usually just turn the machine on for 5 minute while grinding the beans etc.. then hit the steam button for 20 seconds before brewing. Still trying to dial in grind size with the Sette 270 with the shim installed.

    Thank you for your very informative videos! 🙏🏻 You said that we should clean our machine with chemical product after we are done with the making espresso, but the machine is very hot after I’m done with everything and already it gives a lot of steam when I turn on the second button ( Gaggia Pro),
    so how it works exactly? 🥲

    Hey TMB! I have a question for you. On the Gaggia classic pro what are the benefits of swapping the spring out to a 9 bar spring? I understand, less pressure so slower pass through the beans etc... but other than that, what does it change? Will it enhance the flavour of the espresso since the water passes through the beans slower?

    • @tmb-themajesticbeanchannel1746
      @tmb-themajesticbeanchannel1746  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It'll decrease the chance of channelling, which means you'll be able to grind finer & increase your extraction 😁

    question about daily backflushing with chemicals: is there a worry that some of the chemicals used for backflushing will stay in the system and make their way into the coffee? and if so are those toxic to ingest?
    I'd like to keep my machine as clean as possible, but not probably as often as daily because of the above question.

    • @tmb-themajesticbeanchannel1746
      @tmb-themajesticbeanchannel1746  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      if done correctly you shouldn't be left with chemicals in the system after backflushing. I'd suggest getting a puck screen, that way you keep your machine clean while not needing to backflush with chemicals as often. We have a link to the Bplus puck screen in the description of this video, in case you'd like to check it out :)

    I know this is minor in terms of video production, but it does have a big impact on how you engage your audience: please look at the lens when recording!
    Right now you’re looking slightly to the side and it gives the viewer the feeling that you’re looking past them.
