    This was also my first time for me "driving" in Phoenix. Thanks and great psychedelic colors at the end.

    Excellent, well-executed video, loved the transition between songs you used and nice effects at the end.

      What makes Phoenix special to you?

    • @MrSniperFromMars

      I love hot weather and despise the cold. I also like big metro areas, and Phoenix has both of these :)

    • @AmericanRoads

      Interesting. Speaking of which, Las Vegas seems to have those features too. What do you think of the Sin City?

    • @MrSniperFromMars
      @MrSniperFromMars 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Las Vegas seems nice, but honestly the economy, which is primary focused on tourism, is just not for me.

    Bet you had that AC on full blast there! This was perfectly done, even down to the fonts on the signs, keeping it real. Bonus points for using Stevie Nicks songs!!

      75% blast to be exact. And she happens to be from Phoenix, so a good match, I'd say :)

      Well, in Winter morning and nights there say that to the heater because it gets so cold at those points of the day in Winter, 40’s and rare cases of 30’s....

    Impressive - both the freeways in the video and your production itself are immaculate and smooth. Those were quite some slick transitions.

    • @AmericanRoads
      @AmericanRoads  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      How similar are AZ signs compared to TX? They are using the same fonts, aren't they?

    • @InterstateJD
      @InterstateJD 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      From what I've gathered, they actually look quite different, despite extensive Clearview. I know Texas has a rather unique MUTCD that is used, so there are signing standards here that aren't in other states. Additionally, I think Texas typically uses a different variant of Clearview than is common other places... this may be just me but something about Clearview in Texas seems "friendlier". I'll say that I think Texas' MUTCD standards definitely lend themselves better to Clearview than the national standards IMO, and TxDOT's specific signing methods look better in it than highway gothic.

    • @InterstateJD
      @InterstateJD 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Then again who am I talking to about unique sign standards? you live in California, their MUTCD is almost completely foreign to vanilla! lol.

  • @rockersk08

    Really slick editing on this production! You got some great conditions for capturing Phoenix, it makes me tempted to head down that way.

    • @AmericanRoads
      @AmericanRoads  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks as always. I will make a prediction that you will be the first road videographer recording I-11 southbound from Las Vegas all the way to Phoenix, once the highway is completed :) Wonder how many more years until the work is done.

    • @rockersk08
      @rockersk08 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      If I'm still in the Vegas area when it all finally opens, I wouldn't mind. However, the portions in Nevada should be done by next year, so I could find a way to capture that at least. Even before that, I'm still debating if I want to capture what will be I-11 in Arizona before it gets rebuilt.

    Always enjoyed seeing the nice landscaping along Phoenix freeways when I used to visit a lot. That's so different from most American cities, where freeway landscaping consists mainly of weeds and trash (e.g., in Austin, where I live).

    • @AmericanRoads
      @AmericanRoads  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Weeds and trash are very commonly found in many Los Angeles areas too (where I live). It seems that cities without very hot desert summer climate tend to have that nice landscaping you mentioned. Besides Phoenix, Las Vegas is another very good example.

      @@AmericanRoads If you live in LA, could you do a video of the whole length of the CA 91, from CA 60/I-215 all the way to Vermont Ave? One of my favorite freeways in the country (btw I live in Phoenix)

    I have noticed from watching a lot of these freeway videos that Arizona does seem to have the cleanest and tidiest looking roads and designs. I also think the place looks to pretty but damn there is no way I could ever handle their heat!

    • @AmericanRoads
      @AmericanRoads  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Exactly my sentiment about the city's summer heat. Is your profile pic from Fallout 4? I just finished playing the game, main story and all DLCs. It has been a fun winter break sneaking around and head-shooting raiders and super mutants lol.

    • @BLOEDVLEK
      @BLOEDVLEK 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      American Roads it's from the fallout series in general as its been an icon for the series. I felt greatly let down by fallout 4 and thought 3 and NV were superior. I enjoyed the far harbor dlc though.

    • @AmericanRoads
      @AmericanRoads  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Luckily for me, Fallout 4 is my first Fallout game. Although after listening to other people's analysis, I can understand why they are disappointed. Also considering that I started playing Fallout 4 pretty soon after Witcher 3, it became clear to me that making great in-depth quest stories is not really Bethesda's strong suit. Skyrim suffered from a similar weakness too, I think.

    To see the Skyline of Phoenix well, go on I-10 East. After the I-17 Stack, and on the I-10 East you will have a view of the skyline on your right.

    This lamb was impressed by the landscaping but probably should not visit in the summer because this lamb's wool would cause overheating. Then this lamb won't be able to comment on these videos.

    I always imagined Phoenix as one of those types of cities NO LESS congested than mine at absolute worst due to their super fine-built freeway system and maybe their straightforward arterial grid...
    Until I saw a show called "Live PD" where some point after 7 pm, the Phoenix cops are still fighting "rush hour" traffic to get to a scene... Guess it's not smart to jump to conclusions...

    I wonder if it ever is cloudy in Phoenix. Our former mayor of Winnipeg has moved down to Phoenix and lives there, but he has a bad reputation of being a corrupt politician (Sam Katz) and is rumored to have taken kickbacks and stuff like that.
