Think of the gear setting for a bike when you’re going uphill. It’s similar to that… more muscle and faster the uphill or smoother and comfortable but slow paddling uphill.. it’s a preference.. faster you pull your fish up while. Burning up your wrist and arm and shoulder or comfortably reeling it up smoothly but taking a bit more time
Are you into American made reels like Avet/Accurate? I am eyeing the Tern 2. Original Tern was a little rough, but light and strong. I sold it thinking that I would get the Tern 2, but I might hold off, lol. I also sold my Saltiga 15H because the reel seized on me while I was fishing on a party boat. I sold it and got an Okuma Tesoro 5NS and loving it so far.
After living overseas and watching Korean/Japanese fishermen fish, I’m not much of a fan of American reels/rod. I think they are a bit behind with the reel/rod technology just because there’s not much demand for innovation. I agree about the Daiwa, my salting a was a bit clunky on my last trip. There’s a reason why Koreans and japan fisherman don’t use American company.. penn tried breaking into korea and japan market and failed miserably. I believe penn’s new bait cast are made in Korea.
@@fishingtacklechannel Yea, I agree with you there. My go-to reels are Shimanos and Daiwas, just because they are so smooth (Feels more refined). What are your current top choices for spinning and conventional reels? And bottom choices? Hahah, it'd be good to see a video on that!
@@theanglercrew7059 I’ve been really liking the 13fishing concept A3 (bought for $150 via Amazon warehouse) and Lewis Super duty 300 for inshore. Because I love full day fishing, I’ve been going super lite on my gear, so my combo reel/rods weigh around 20-35oz total, which is crazy. Also my arms/wrist don’t get tired. I have penn battle ii 2000/4000 spinning reels, but I fish mainly with baitxast/conventional.
Hello my friend wow I love the bait caster reels there beautiful I have to buy these I love them happy fishing 🎣 Sunday my favorite one is the 💙
Hi congratulations for the video. Any issue so far fishing with it? There s some thing we can do to upgrade the reel ?
No issue at all, it feels just like Daiwa saltiga size 10
Hello
How much line did you put on it? PE? Meter?
Is 5.1 gear not very slow? I like my jigging reels to have around 1m/turn

@@fishingtacklechannel I am fishing 200m+, have you cranked that with a 5 Gear all day? My arm would fall off!
@@1V2N1V2 yea, at that depth, I’d be using an electric reel.
The ranmi is more like the ocea jigger 1000. Auto engage and spool lock.
Have you use Ryobi Ranmi and do test in the field?
Yes I have and hopefully get the video uploaded soon. Thanks!

Avet Reels are some of the best in the world. Smooth casting, ultra reliable, strong drag. Better than my Shimano trinidad A
is the ranmi 2 speed?
No, it’s not. It’s very close to Daiwa saltist 10Hsl
@@fishingtacklechannel Appreciate the response. Very good channel 👍🏿
What is a solid inexpensive rod for beginners?
@@miamiwax5504 when you say, inexpensive, what range are you taking about? For me, it’s usually $100-$150 range.
