Right? How bad would people have reacted if a straight guy tried to force a (seemingly) lesbian character to get with him then gets mad and says the same line the Sorceress did "it's a fantasy game sexuality doesn't exist so just get with me already" or something along those lines.

I play D&D to have fun as an awesome and eloquent musician, or a sneak-thief with deft hands and a swift crossbow. I'm not playing to get pretend-laid or fake-married.
That's why I ended up leaving my previous group. My DM was weirdly focused on relationships when role-playing, and it often dipped into the realm of ERP, which I just didn't want to participate in.
For a specific example, I wrote that my character's fiancée died, and he spent every coin he had trying to resurrect her, dropping from pampered prince to paupered gutter rat in short order. He joins up with a group of adventurers so he can gather the gold for one last attempt, or die trying and meet her in the Everafter. After roughly two IRL years' worth of weekly sessions, the DM decides that our actions have bought five years of relative peace, and therefore a time skip. Imagine my surprise when suddenly my character has half his gold savings gone, and a Priestess from the local Temple is suddenly his wife and about to birth his second child.
Yeah, the DM decided that my character would just *_get over_* his One True Love and marry whatever NPC I'd interacted the most with, all while spending nearly *_EIGHT THOUSAND GOLD_* on a house I never saw, furniture I never used, in a part of town I never visited, because my character had a room at the inn for the game up until that point, and the only four places we interacted with in town were the tavern/inn, the temple, the shop, and the local lord's manor. I had close to 16,000 gold from all the bounties, side quests, secondary objectives, and looting my character did, and he needed 25,000 for a True Resurrection, and while everyone else got to roll to see how much money they made during the Time Skip, the DM decided that my character would go back to acting like a nobleman now that he had some pocket change and just *_give up adventuring_* for five years to become a Priestess' house husband.
We had a pretty large argument about it all, and after a month with no sessions, he finally promised me that he'd make things right. And then he had my character get kidnapped by the Goddess of Despair, where he was forced to watch said goddess r@₱€ and torture his fiancée's soul, only for his new priestess wife to somehow show up, send the Patron God of the BBEG flying, and rescue my character, in what amounted to a glorified cutscene/flashback explaining why my character decided to get married, and how our kids was gonna grow up to be so awesome that he'd slip the Second Coming and just be Jesus³.
I'm sure you can tell why I didn't stick around after all that.

It's their entire identity so anything but praise and support feels like a personal attack to them. I remember when gays just wanted equal rights and to be left alone to live their life. Now, these young ones want to tell everyone else what to do and if you don't go along with everything they want, they'll attack you. It's why people, including homosexuals, are tired of the Alphabet mafia.

That is a good point. Considering how the sorceress handled the situation, getting to kill the person that rejected her and being “right” about there being someone wrong with the person that did…. Is probably an unintentional reinforcement of bad behavior by the DM. The guy that was gay was a narcissist. The world revolved around him, in his mind. Yes’m the DM and the group dodged a bullet.
I ran into this at an Adventure League game. I’d been running the same table for almost a year. I had five core players that always sat at my table. A sixth player became a regular at my table. One of the girls at my table wanted me to kick the sixth person from the table. I told her I couldn’t do that as store policy stated I could only kick someone out for cheating, direct insults to players, of other similar issues. She just didn’t like the person. Since I couldn’t kick the sixth person out (I didn’t want to, he was a good player) and she kept causing drama at the table, I stopped DMing.
I later returned, after she had stopped coming to the Game Store.

Do people use it woo someone in real life that they like? How does it work? I'm not a shy man but I would feel awkward pretending to have sex with Dave, especially with loads of people just there. I have a whole worldbuilding project for a DnD-compatible faction that is a prickly, complex mess to deal with, written with more gritty campaigns as well as a tool in the DM's back pocket for toxic parties/players in mind. The chittering hives full of armored, eight-limbed monstrosities are not all-consuming evils and will trade, barter, form alliances, uses relatively advanced tech, and have perfectly functional civilization in the depths... but they are still eight-limbed monstrosities with very limited levels of chill. On their turf, it's their way, the highway, or the kitchens - and not for working. Fortunately, they are not actually that hard to get along with, the secret is humility.
It's not just about PKs, it's about sending a message. These critters could be a party's greatest allies due to their oddball sense of honor, even after a misunderstanding or two, or that very same party or player could wind up being grub food if they try to murderhobo or get too pushy for what is basically a eusocial society. After being dragged through the courts - they are _civilized,_ after all, just not as we know it.

Second demanding, again out of character, that a player act in a certain way and then insulting the layer would be, “The game is over tonight.” I’d have to deal with the problem player, but not in front of everyone.
I had a problem player, meta gaming, trying to control the game. I talked to him outside of the game but he did not stop. So, when I realized I was no longer enjoying the game I turned to him during one of his rants. “You are the GM now. I will not force people to choose between being your friend or mine.” I handed my GM notes over to him and left. The sad part was I never got back my notes. It was a Shadowrun game. I brought the player aside, explained to him what had happened, what the creature knew, could do & intentions then had him play the monster. Sadly, he killed off most the party & the sole survivor wasn’t able to find the character & side session he wasn’t able to escape. The unfortunate truth, as someone who is hella queer, is that a lot of gay culture happens in closed off echo chambers. It's a little chilling to watch people try to swing the pendulum back the other way, a community that was literally brought together by the sentiment "you can't do that!" now weaponizing the same sentiment against anybody who, frankly, isn't born that way. To imply that heterosexuals can choose to embrace gay ideals is to imply that being gay was a choose to start with. Anybody who thinks their sexuality "overrides" heterosexuality is saying that all the homophobia and hatred is justified, because it implies that it *actually is a deviant lifestyle people actively choose* instead of being what it is, just a different flavour of human being.
It chills me mostly because nobody should know better that you CAN'T choose than the people who were forced into these echo chambers to start with, who were forced to create a comfort zone apart from the majority just to express their sexuality. I don't know if kids now think it's some sort of revenge move to label straight people as bigots if they won't cast aside their straightness, but it's sickening. Later, the party was able to help my character bring back my characters wife and spoilers: my character slept with his recently resurrected wife. There was an argument above and below the table. The other player attacked my character's wife for my characters' rejection of their feelings, which the player stated they were going to do because my character was secretly gay and I was just being a bigot. My character ended up killing theirs for attacking my character's wife. This caused the player to call all of us bigots and homophobes because my character wouldn't sleep with them. 1st, I loved TSR D&D, even if they did Gygax wrong. WotC & 3E was the big turn mid 90s where I went from seeing the occasional bad player to being in the extreme minority.
      2. There were plenty of crazies in the 80s & 90s. For example, the first group I was invited to at college…I showed up & people were mostly dressed up & they were playing by candlelight. I said thanks for the invite & left.
Every group I was in, moved a few times, we would kill the character of the new player first session to see how they handled it. We had the ones who would lean over and grab a new character or character sheet & start rolling; ones who’d take a moment, maybe hit the table in frustration, then follow in the path of the first type (I generally fell into this group); then you had the flip-outs, the ones who’d sweep the table, maybe even try to flip it, yelling & cursing, one even went to threats…basically, the last group was asked to leave & not return. From my intro to the game, I, & those I played with took it seriously, meaning we were running characters who were attempting heroics…meaning character deaths were not uncommon & TPKs were possible. Some campaigns even had the “bring 2 characters” caveats so you’d have a backup if yours died early on in a session. If someone was going to flip out, we’d rather learn in a scenario where others or even the rest of us aren’t feeling down/frustrated at character deaths.
Still think back to my lowest level TPK. We were all between lvl 1-3. We were riding near an area we knew was frequented by giants. The DM wanted to try to get us to veer from the road to 1 side, away from the giants. A group of 3 giants spotted us & said hi with a thrown boulder landing just ahead of us. My character, who was in the rear & for some stupid reason felt heroic, yelled ahead “keep going, I’ll slow them down” as I turned my horse toward the giants. Shortly thereafter, taking cover behind my dead horse between shots, now 3 rounds after I engaged so sure the others were home free…I heard the others mention they were turning their horses to go & help me. A few rounds later the giants finished the last of us as I just had my head in my hands cursing my fellow players under my breath as they’d ruined the heroic moment of my character rendering the actions pointless. Not a moment I’d have wanted someone throwing a fit about their character dying…& sure, OOC I knew, had we all kept riding straight or veered as intended the DM wasn’t going to force us to fight an unwinnable encounter…but that only made it a bit worse in the moment.
      3. Get the Crit Role, was fun to watch for a bit, but was never one to talk in a different voice, except maybe as DM to highlight some NPCs, & eventually got tired of it from professional voice actors, so, not sure I would’ve lasted long with normies.

@@shupichii9647 monster characters are ok, or were in the 80s & 90s, as the person playing a monster character accepted he’d need a disguise basically any time he wanted to enter a neutral/good village or town & that it is wiser in most cases to wait, hidden, on the outskirts. The others knew they wouldn’t be welcomed with open arms in a village/stronghold of that character’s race. That the character would have to have a good reason for the party, or at least party members, to allow it to join the party. Unlike these days where players expect an average town to be full of elves of all types, dwarves of all types, demons, devils, mind flayers, halflings and everything else all living in perfect harmony…part of the reason I quit decades ago when I PCS’d away from my last good group.
Granted, don’t recall the book you mentioned, but many groups I played with allowed monster-characters, many of those times, the players changed characters when their character wasn’t universally trusted & accepted as they wanted; while a few found advantages & enjoyed the role with additional challenges. At least 2 died to my character’s blade when they showed they weren’t worthy of the trust granted in cases I might not have gone to blows with had a human, dwarf, elf… had done the same, but I played in character & if they didn’t jump at my offer to leave, they perished, both times with ho-hum, not sure I would kill him for that…but I get it…& get it with your character. Even in the average evil campaign, monster characters without glamour/disguise abilities will normally struggle more than others.

If she insists on meta gaming, you will have to leave.

Player A comes up to you in private and says player B is doing X they don't like and you agree its unacceptable, or you yourself observe player B doing something you don't like
You pull player B aside and in private explain that doing X can alienate some players and ask if they could avoid doing X in the future
If player continues to do X, pull them aside, give them a final warning. If they do it again, politely tell them they are no longer welcome at the table. and that they have been warned multiple times.
If what player A was complaining about player B doing, is actually acceptable at your table, you need to explain this to Player A, so that they can decide if they wish to continue on the table or not.

Given that sites like Roll20 are not unknown for banning people for claims of "homophobia" Or other slander be it real or imagined. I think it's only a good idea to have a kind of list like this to protect ourselves from these kinds of malicious entitled players.
Heck, in the freelance art world, they have buyer beware lists everywhere. If an artist is shady of hostile to the commissioner, you get put on that list. I think something similar for tabletop players online is not unreasonable in current year.

The vast majority of people wouldn't call you a homophobe for that action, so why do you give a fuck what like 0.0005% of people who would? Why is such a tiny fraction of the community acting a certain way enough for you to pretend you've somehow prophetically seen into the future? You aren't a homophobe for not sleeping with someone who is the same gender that you are, but you are absolutely a homophobe if you're willing to pretend that you believe the kind of stupid shit you're spewing here.
