- Boss, a 180 pound Newfoundland, becomes super jealous of his sibling Ralphie while his owner brushes him. He therefore takes out his frustration in the form of a wrestling match!

Every once in a while, I think that my Lab is a big dog, and then I see a Newfie.
It's really strange how that works. When I was just a kid, we had a Saint Bernard. Then a Great Dane when I was a teenager. Now, when I take my friend's Borzou cross out for a run and people comment on how big he is, I just kinda shrug. My sense of scale is all messed up; it's been years since I've come across a dog that I thought of as big.
Every time I stopped at a traffic light and my Newfoundland had his head out the back window people would pull up and ask if Ace was a bear.
Same thing happened with me when I had black Newfies. Now, I have a landseer, and the question I get is “what IS that?”
I tell them it is a cocker spaniel on steroids.

I miss being around a big dog that acts like a kid. My Nan had a german shepard and it was huge and I would have to wrestle with it everytime I visited my Nan.

@@Barrels_VODS Any breed can have issues, but people shouldn't buy pups from breeders that just sell to make a buck. They don't care about what happens to those dogs later in life and they will keep on (inter)breeding as long as people keep buying.
Maybe our family has been lucky, but we've never had a dog with those issues yet.
@@jakke1975 it has nothing to do with interbreeding, it's just how it is when big dogs live too long. It's harder to get up ect.

My beautiful newfie passed away last September - He lived a good life and gave us much love for 12 years. I miss him every day. We now have a smaller dog (Saint Bernard), but seeing your video made me realise that nothing beats a Newfoundland. Thank you.

I love these big dogs. My mini Aussie loves all dogs. But, he saw two like these walking down the street one day and lost it started growling and barking. I’m his 4 years of life he’s never seen or interacted with a mastiff. But the mastiffs looked at him like “what’s all that noise for?” Haha

How old are they? I just had to put my newfie boy down. He was only 7. He got sick, stopped eating, and drinking. Cancer. So totally left me broken hearted. He was literally my constant companion. I'm retired so we spent everyday together.

I have a labradane named Loki and hes a big boy at 120 lbs. Most of the time when I take him to the park hes the biggest pup there but once there was a newfie there named Samson and he was bigger than my Loki who never ever starts trouble and calmly avoids confrontation. Well samson loved to mess with him by putting his chin over Lokis shoulder like "ha ha I'm bigger than you" and it was one of the only times he was aggravated lol it was so freaking funny

We have an English Bulldog and a Frenchie and they are the same, I always say to my wife dogs are like 3-4 yr olds, very jealous about love and always want what the other is playing with, lol bless them.
