Your vids are a breath of fresh air in these crazy times. The skill and dedication are beautiful mixed with pure joy and calmness, love the completely silent bits too, thought it was a mistake at first but "less is more" as they say.
I love your videos. I remember when Tamiya brought out the 88 AND halftrack back in the 70's. The excitement. I probably got them as a Xmas present from Santa. The memories. That's what your videos do. I thank you.
Great looking build Greg very nice detail always a pleasure watching your builds windows and wiper marks very realistic thankyou for the brief escape !! Now back to my decorating !!!!!stay safe jon
I can't understand why Tamiya would partner their kit with the Italeri, the quality is not as good. This series of 1/48 kits from Tamiya are excellent and I've enjoyed making several of them.
Great build - never got into 1/48 since my default is 1/35 and 1/64 for smaller stuff, but maybe should try my hands on some. One thing though most modellers forget: guns not in combat almost always have a muzzle cover to protect it from dirt and debris. Just stuff the barrel and wrapp some tissue paper or similar over the muzzle and its done.
Great result Greg!! For me the stand out feature of this build is how good the figures turned out!! If you didn't know you would think they were 1/35 scale!! Lovely work Greg keep 'em coming!!
Fantastic build video. Simple techniques used yet so effective. Love it. Would you be willing to do more of these wonderful Tamiya WWII armor kits in 1/48? These are rare and would fill in a long-time neglected niche of scale model building. Cheers!
Nice one! Drybrushing is so underrated in scale modelling. Having come into scale modelling from mini painting I assumed drybrushing would be the done thing but I see so few people doing it. Awesome way to get highlights and build up some colour gradiation on the big flat panels.
It used to be the thing, Shepherd Paine and Verlinden used to produce some amazing effects. This guy is underrated I think, a real model builder not just an airbrush fiend....
Always a good day when Greg posts a video. Once again immaculate execution. I really admire your techniques and eye for details. Bravo sir. Thankyou for the video and stay safe.
@@GregsModels that’s brilliant 👍 My father was a weapons fitter on javelins and lightnings. My father in law was in Cyprus in74, Coldstream guards on the UN peace keeping role. He said he used the beach at akrotiri and remembers the Vulcans.
A really nice build. I am not sure how you can cut all the parts off the sprue before you begin assembly. I would fear getting detail parts mixed up, especially if the instructions are not that clear. I do cut and clean the parts for a specific assembly stage before building but never all of them.
Citadel paints; first, a base coat mixture of Mournfang Brown, Mephiston Red and Abadon Black. Then a very, very dry brushing with Ungor Flesh, a tan colour, on the edges of the seats. Then it is sealed with a satin varnish.
Really nice result, liked the advice on painting flesh, I'll try to follow the example. What the hell happened to the heartbroken driver? He looks like someone ran over his puppy. Can't you cheer him up?
@@GregsModels I will try this method. I have seen Andy from Hobby headquarters airbrush Tamiya brown panel line as a dirt effect on the road wheels of a tank.

I really love how you paint your figures. It would be fantastic to see a video on this alone. Lee em coming Greg; my favourite channel by far
‘Dioramas ain’t my bag, man’, love that quote. They’re not mine either! I’m really enjoying watching your channel, great stuff.👍😎

Decorating; Something I hate with a passion, hope it's not painting banisters
always an enjoyable watch. the simple trick with the window wash added heaps of character. Stu
Wow now thats some talented paint work......great job!!!
Wonderful job in all aspects, model, accessories and figure!
Lovely job. You are the master of dry brushing 👍
Great build and finish. The Tamiya truck is definitely a better kit though. The Italeri gun almost looks like an old 1970s molding.

Yes will do 👍
Absolutely fantastic figure painting
Are we allowed to drybrush again? 😉
Looks lovely mate.
You do have an interesting technique.
Quick and effective!
And the end result is quite convincing.
Excellent. I don’t recall see the 88 built before. Nice work. Thanks

Great build, tips, comments and finish ⭐ Thank you - certainly can translate into my own builds...
Once again, great build with useful tips. And another left field model choice. All the better for it.

Thank you very much!
Terrific result.....precise and beautifully accomplished. Great watching your work and listening to the process....thanks!
Great done. Looks very, very good! Nice way to paint figures. I must remember this. All the best for You! ;)
Awesome build!
You did a great job, well done!
👍 the windshield w wiper sweeps , well & everything else are very realistic 👏 😃
Thank you 👍
Very good work 👍👍👌
20:42 now speachless, looks so good ! =O
Cracking job,, need to scour ur other videos, 🤟🤟🤟
Fantastic build Greg 😎👍
Cheers Aleš 👍
Great job!. cant wait for the next build
Beautiful work! The only thing missing is an ammo carrier ...
Yes I never thought of that 👍
Greg with the figures you skipped from the skin to the uniforms, and missed out the hair, but it looks like you /did/ paint it.
Looks like fun build! Looks great.
Lovely build. It may have been asked before, but may I ask the significance of the Vulcan picture behind you?
Cheers 🍺🍺🍺
My dad worked on these out in Akrotiri. Photo of him and the others who finished the ECM upgrade on the Vulcan.

Beautiful job.

The Tamiya illustrations are always well drawn and clear. There are some manufacturers that I would think twice with this process, Revell being one 👍
Cracking build fella!
Great build.
But, are there actually any wipers to fit on that windscreen?!
No separate wipers supplied some very fine raised detail on the transparent part though.
Great build & video! 👍
Well done mate...well done !! 😀😀
When you say detergent in terms of the wash, what type of detergent are you referring to? Interesting subject and that gun looks very intricate.
I use a small amount of shower gel, synthetic detergent.
Nicely done.
What colour(s) did you use for the leather seats? I like the look of them.
Citadel paints; first, a base coat mixture of Mournfang Brown, Mephiston Red and Abadon Black. Then a very, very dry brushing with Ungor Flesh, a tan colour, on the edges of the seats. Then it is sealed with a satin varnish.
Would love to see a 25pdr and Quad alongside this
I'll put it on the list if one comes out in that scale
@@GregsModels oh, didn't realise it was 1/48.
Greg, the Vulcan pic behind you in this video (looks like Akrotiri to me), can you tell me where you got it? I quite like it.
Family photo, my dad worked on them at Akrotiri, 9 Squadron 👍

Airbrushing washes! What a great idea. Only bad thing is the loss of youre highligts.
Worth a go

Genius!
Super ❤
Superb …
That poor fellow left out in the rain and snow
Espero que las figuras no sean de Italeri!😅
The colour is way off, it is too blue. You should have gone with the "Normandy" camo.
