Rayquaza taking off like a rocket, Mega Evolving, and piercing a giant meteor clean through like a railgun while rock music plays in the background is the best cutscene to ever come out of a Pokemon game

Pokémon Games really really needs a Voice acting, for example the Story of Kalos Pokémon War Cutscene

Piers' introduction scene is a key example why.

The scene in ORAS where May fights you after you've beaten the champion should've had it too. When her mouth was moving with subtitles but no voice I thought something was wrong with my game

can we talk about ORAS using the gba music with the 3ds one to have the “primal” effect? It’s so good!
It feels amazing, almost seems like the GBA sounds are primal in that xd
Can we talk about the original title screen of ruby and sapphire, you see the alpha and omega symbols on kyogre and groudon respectively and the energy outlines their primal forms? Or that the wings of ho-oh in the original Gold title screen would loosely form a heart and so did it's sprite in game? Some ideas were there the whole time.
The part where AZ's floette came back actually made me tear up.
Say what you want, I was actually really impressed with x and y's story.
OK but when are we going to GET that floette exactly? We saw it in the game files even it's movesets and signature move, where tf are we going to GET IT LEGITIMATELY??

I loved X and Y's story, but it definitely felt somewhat lacking. There are two main reasons for this that give it a pass for me:
1. There WAS supposed to be a Pokemon Z, in the same vein as Emerald and BW2, but Gamefreak was rushed to get Gen 7 out. This is why Zygarde is awkwardly shoehorned into Gen 7.
2. Given the theme of X and Y, it's kinda risky to go into too much detail. Pokemon is a children's game at it's core, and putting too much Death into one would severely hurt the franchise, if not outright destroy it.
Sun/Moon recieved a lot of unnecessary hate. It's a fantastic game.

The story is great, the balancing is much better than in X and Y, with some actual difficulty at times, the new island challenges are kahuna battles were genuinely refreshing, the characters were cool and memorable, Hau is the best iteration of a "happy/nice" rival in pokemon, and of course the visuals were fantastic.
(the game is litteraly more beautiful than scarlet and violet if you play it on an emulator with upscale activated :p)
I'm so hype for Pokémon Shield and Sword!

My opinion on all the legendary cutscenes:
X and Y (Az's backstory) Still emotional till this day.
X and Y (Xerneas and Yveltal): Could have been better.
ORAS Groudon/Kyogre: Epic.
ORAS Rayquaza: epicness in a nutshell.
Sun and Moon: Could have been better in my opinion.
Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon: My personal favorite.
Ultra Sun & Moon cutscenes are amazing and my favorite out of all the others
I always felt like XY was underrated.. AZ's story still makes me shed a tear, and Yveltal is my fav legendary. I keep thinking they could have done so much more..

I find it hilarious in the opening cutscene of Ultra Sun/Moon when Nebby is teleporting Lillie away in a blinding flash of light and Phyco, Soliera and Dulse correctly shield their eyes with their arms, but meanwhile Zossie just yelps and throws her arms up.
This video should be over 20 hours long since the entire sun and moon and ultra sun and ultra moon are just one big cutscene

Y was the first Pokémon game I played. So, yeah, I guess you could say it had an effect on me in some way.
It's been a long time since then...
I'm thinking about picking up a copy of X so I can play through the story again. (Not a chance in hell I'd delete my Y save.)
I will say, though, the rivals in those games suck. Four is too many; if it was just Shauna and Calem/Serena, it'd be much better overall.

Sacrificing hundreds, if not thousands of Pokémon just to summon a single legendary. Or, incorporate it into the lore of the region. In ancient times, the people would bring Pokémon to their temple and offer them as a sacrifice to the legendary Pokémon they revered as a god.
Now that would make a sick regional lore for a Pokémon game.

You know, i'm actually amazed at how while watching this i noticed things that i didn't when playing the games
like how you can see rayquaza mega evolving when you enter space and how it uses dragon ascent to smash the meteor (although it could be using dragon ascent the entire time since it's surrounded with the green aura)

It is if you weren't on the Internet around the time The Pokemon Company was "marketing" ORAS
I hate how they completely flipped the switch on lusamine's character in the anime, her story was so compelling. In the game she went insane after losing her husband to cosmogs power and becomes corrupt and neglectful towards her children and becomes obsessed with ultra beasts and all things beautiful. She pushes away anyone who cares about her and only when she is beaten down she breaks free of those obsessions and starts to realize how much she loves her kids. In the anime she has none of that character development and not to mention that, the fact that her whole story with the ultrabeasts and her relations to guzma being thrown out the window made not only a missed opprotunity for an epic story for the anime but her being automatically nice dulls down some other character's dynamics such as gladion, the reason why in the games that he was such an edgelord was because of the Tragedy that happened with lusamine going crazy and perusing lillie for cosmog. He was a protective and hard assed kid because of those incidents but because lusamine is automatically nice he lost that purpose to be who he originally was and was reduced to a background character akin to shadow the hedgehog in sonic boom. Mysterious for little reason.
This next argument may be completely biased as honestly I preferred the old pokemon anime series but I really didn't like the ultra guardians and the trainer school thing they did with all of the island challenge leaders and kukui. It felt wrong as there are already characters that fit the role of heros in pokemon such as pokemon rangers and ace trainers. Not to mention that it defeats the purpose of the island kahunas and the police officers because their jobs are to protect the islands of alola. I just honestly didn't like the pokemon alola anime that much ( apart from its drastic quality change that had been kept the same throughout each gen ) it just felt like it was the equivalent to a toddler show. ( and I know the pokemon anime is meant for kids but in the past they had the quality of an action packed journey, however in the alola one it just feels too much like a show meant for really small kids because instead of ash going on a journey throughout the different islands and earning the z crystals by battling he stays mainly in melemele island going to a school ( that doesn't even exsist in the games even though there is literally already a trainers school down the road from the pokemon center ) with the characters that are supposed to be the island challenge leaders and gets his z crystals handed to him sometimes for just being present and not working for em. It feels more mundane and really not like the classic pokemon feel. I know there's gonna be a lot of people who disagree with me and who love the alola anime and the nice lusamine, but I just feel like it could have been more than it was.

ORAS cut scenes went from strength to strength and got more epic as the game went on

I just realized the flute in sun and moon has the motif of ultra necrozmas theme, maybe foreshadowing
The Mega Rayquaza and Deoxys cutscene still remains my favorite Pokemon cutscene of all time. It was a genuine surprise when I first saw it in my game. I really like Deoxys, so I was over the moon.....literally.

@@banana_chop2672 I know your comment is 1 month old but you guys realize that Groudon and Kyogre in reality are really fucking small? Groudon for example is only 3.5 meters. He grows a little when changing into primal but that's still pathetically small. I know it's really dumb, but that's how it is
Groudon is at least 11 feet tall, he's tall compared to small to medium sized Pokemon.

XY, ORAS, SM/USUM were great games, and I love them dearly. But goddamn were they pixilated and compressed as all hell.
Ik it looks pretty shat. At least those games are rich in plot, Pokemon and atmosphere, unlike SWSH. Don't get me wrong i still enjoyed SWSH, tho it's very mediocre.
But aye, u can always play them 3DS games on a PC emulator with high res.

man ORAS are still my favourite games, enough that I played both versions all the way through, the primal cutscenes and using Rayquaza to destroy a meteor only to reveal deoxys, so cool XD

ORAS/XY cutscenes un-chibified the characters and it's a bit weird (tbf the characters weren't fully chibified, more like half-chibified but still)

I think it would have been better if we actually fought the mutated Lusamine (maybe after she uses all her own Pokemon). It's not that weird for something that isn't really a catchable pokemon to be a boss you fight, they did in PDM and the weird pokemon studio pokemon in BW
