As far as I know there's a certain width all paths have to comply to. In this, and most cases its at max 2 meters per side. This allows bicyclists to pass eachother without too much discomfort, since the general width of a bike is 94 centimeters. It's written somewhere in the Dutch traffic laws.
15:00 No sidewalks? Are they situated on the other side of the street? Otherwise it's a little too American car-oriented for new Dutch infrastructure imo.
There are rules for pedestrians if there is no sidewalk, they are then allowed to walk on the cycling path and than the best would be if they walked on the left side, but when a cyclingpath is to busy it should have a sidewalk
Yeah those are areas where people go only to work, factories and warehouses. Depressing places best to be avoided. The people who walk there are probably on their break and started walking because of the bike path. Before they were stuck in the lunch facility of the company , or the parking lot when they want to go outside

I applaud these bikepaths. I think it is wonderful idea that will stimulate e-biking even more. I'm convinced this is a first step in getting speed pedelecs to allow usage of such paths as well. Currently they are supposed to use the regular road, but that isn't exactly safe and leads to a lot of frustration by car drivers. Once there's enough bikepaths as this; it's a no-brainer to also allow speed pedelecs on them.
@@N911GT2 Well, aside from the fast and unsafety nature, if we need to go that fast, why don't we join the traffic down the road? Right? And a motorbike is faster than an e-bike.
I loved cycling in Holland..but since returning to Florida and our roads, I see there are no highway guard rails separating the cyclists of a Holland from the drivers....The drivers in America don’t care about the cyclists...

We only miss bike-highway-type-intersections now with level separated on- and offramps!

just perfect
Jammer.
Wow I am so jealous
Is it possible to also add the width of the cycling infrastructure in the left corner?
As far as I know there's a certain width all paths have to comply to. In this, and most cases its at max 2 meters per side. This allows bicyclists to pass eachother without too much discomfort, since the general width of a bike is 94 centimeters.
It's written somewhere in the Dutch traffic laws.
So jealous!
15:00 No sidewalks?
Are they situated on the other side of the street?
Otherwise it's a little too American car-oriented for new Dutch infrastructure imo.
This is not uncommon within an industrial area , which are reached by car of cycle almost always situated on the outside of cities.
There are rules for pedestrians if there is no sidewalk, they are then allowed to walk on the cycling path and than the best would be if they walked on the left side, but when a cyclingpath is to busy it should have a sidewalk
@@Lunavii_Cellest I thought to myself during the video there were enough pedestrians to legitimize a (narrow/small) sidewalk, at least.
@@ZeNN-Music yeah that is true, then there should be a sidewalk.
Yeah those are areas where people go only to work, factories and warehouses. Depressing places best to be avoided. The people who walk there are probably on their break and started walking because of the bike path. Before they were stuck in the lunch facility of the company , or the parking lot when they want to go outside
@@IJubane Aah oke dankuwel!

Oh, De Efteling at 38:00

Get rid of the da*m scooters !!
I’m surprised there doesn’t appear to be a separate footpath on much of this route. Do you know why that decision was made?
Within built areas there are footpaths, outside of built areas pedestrians and cyclists can use the same path. This is common everywhere in the country
Next time bring the km that you drive in the movie, the traffic boards are borning, we see them to much, and my mother smashed it to much away from here garden when i came drunk to home, in the time old history times that you can go out
I applaud these bikepaths.
In the netherlands we're trying to get rid of the speed peddles, they are too fast and unsafe.
In the Netherland every driver is also a cyclist
There are no cyclists on the highway in the Netherlands..
Is horrible the are no streat lights i use to travel evry day at 5 i the morning
In the Netherlands the bicycles are equipped with front and rear lights which are powered by a dynamo that will power the lights while the wheels are going around.
They will place streetlights in the future I think, this project is still being build in phases, and plans are to be ready completely in 2025.
Those motorcycles on the path seem really annoying.
As for "bromfietsers"; if your" bromfiets" can ride at the posted speed limits, (most can...)then they belong on the main traffic lanes; I say....

Mopeds make the worst noises. Farting motorbikes

At some places it certainly is quite cramped. But that's only at the places they just couldn't find more space.
