The snail thing... my older brother was using a weed-whacker along our fence line and unknowingly hit a snail. A massive chunk of it flew up... and lodged in his NOSE. It happened in 1991 and he's STILL traumatized.

There's actually an excellent series of videos on ants by Kurzgesagt. One of the videos even makes the ants kinda majestic and even cute (warning, not all of them).
That thing about chocolate covered ants actually reminded me about a test my high school psychology teacher did on us. Early on, she gave us a brief quiz with personality type questions. One of those questions was, "If you were offered chocolate covered buga to eat, would you at least try them, just the once?" Those kind of hypothetical questions you never expect to come up again, then lo and behold, two weeks later, she comes into class, hands back the quiz, and says "So, you remember that question about the chocolate covered bugs?" and pulls out a box of chocolate covered ants and says that three of us said yes. She did not force us to, and she didn't tell the class which three.

Honeypot ants. You guys are thinking of honeypot ants. Their abdomen is absolutely full of honey so you get a sweet treat that also comes with a teeny tiny bit of protein to boot. They're quite an old style of sweet treat for humans and apparently are absolutely delicious. Dipped in chocolate sounds like an amazing addition too!
I tried those novelty bug candies she talked about. They were a resounding "meh."
The Hollow Knight music was a nice touch by Casual Geographic.

I've eaten ants before. I was tempted after hearing the story of the pilot that was shot down in Bosnia and had to survive behind enemy lines for a week. He said he ate ants and said they tasted like crunchy lemons.
...Which they do. 100%. Have the cronch of an apple with the sour of a lemon, but it's 100% protein basically.
I'm not big on the whole eating bugs thing. I know it's a cultural thing in some places, and I know that they're considered safe to eat (and again, they're like 100% protein. Gobble some bugs down if you want your gains instead of drinking protein shakes or eating steaks 😄), but it's just not a me thing. But ants aren't the worst thing I've ever eaten. By like a significant margin. They're really not that bad.

Yeah, because the narrator is one of the few African Americans that decided to use that useful organ in their skull called a brain for more than just motor functions, aggressive cringe poetry, primitive culture, money concerns, racial grievances, and braindead slang. Most certainly a smarter and better person than Skitten.
Granted he still uses black man's slang but at least he's intelligent and witty about it. I'm not a racist. But I'm also not above insulting and ridiculing entire demographics when they give me reasons to.
Blacks and ants have two things in common. Their kind are ancient and many individuals have found ways to bully or kill them. Both demographics just get targeted for different reasons. Blacks just get targeted for wrong reasons. Usually the color of their skin. Ants get targeted because something else needs to eat them or parasitize them to survive.

If the other ants see the ant doing weird stuff they would gang up on that ant and take the ant away from the nest.

This may be information I should've took to my grave, but as a kid I used to eat the black ants 🐜 out in my backyard who were all marching in lines to their colony, minding their own business. I used to just - pick up one, two, or three and .... eat them 🍽 ... just because I could. 😐

9:44 I'm not cool with this specifically because introducing a predator species to combat another invasive species is only going to create another problem that's going to mess up the ecosystem. What if those flight attack other native ant colonies? That would be an even bigger problem that would be a harder to solve because you can't tell which ants are infected or not.

04:05 I've heard that insect/anarchid food is pretty same like snails and shellfish: that is unless you eat it raw, it's going to taste what it was cooked in. That being said, i've never have had the pleasure. Would I try it? Sure, they can't be anything worse than snails and shrimps(and they taste pretty good when done right, even if they're ugly).

Tbh if I had more money, my diet would consist in, like, 30-40% of dried insects. A lot of them are a great source of protein and they have next to no taste and a texture resembling other dried food/nuts, especially if there's any salt flavoring involved. There would still be place for actual protein and meat, and of course vegetables, but if there were insect-based products at an affordable price I'd be switching to them.
Then go to the wilds of South America, take off all your clothes, grow a coat of fur or long hair and tongue, and become an anteater.
