Washington State as of now as a brighter future than Oregon State due to have the coaching staff and returning players compared to Oregon State who has a new coaching staff and they have a lot of players that either graduated or left via transfer portal

I'm an OSU alum. I can tell you firsthand that out here in Corvallis, people are not going to be patient with this team. You're talking about "Expect 6-6 or 7-5, that's a good season" and I'm here to tell you that the fans will tune out completely and abandon the sport if they finish with anything less than 9-10 wins. People out here are HURT and we are ANGRY. We are angry at the school, we are angry at the sport, we are angry at pretty much everyone. And the attitude is now "Unless we are playing for something of worth, we are out of here. We aren't going to be insulted by playing San Jose State and Little Sisters of the Poor and watching our community fall into financial ruin while being told that everything is going to be OK. Fix it NOW or there's going to be HELL to pay."
Being a Beaver has NEVER been easy. We struggled to compete against the SoCal dynasties in the 70's and 80's, and then Oregon got ahold of a billionaire alum who financed their rise to power, leaving us to become a doormat. Despite the passion of the fanbase, we were thrown trash coaches that were more interested in getting out of town than building the program and were led by a school administration content to watch us sink beneath the waves rather than give us the funding to stay above water. Finally, after 35+ years of failure, Dennis Erickson came from the NFL and brought something we hadn't had in decades: HOPE. We had a winning record and a bowl game! Then the next year, we assembled the greatest OSU football team of all time, going 11-1, Beating a Joey Harrington-led Oregon team that seemed destined for the Rose Bowl and DOMINATING Notre Dame in the Fiesta Bowl. Then, an old flame in Mike Riley came back to build the program into one of the most consistent winners in the PAC-10, going 85-66 in 12 years and winning multiple major bowl games. Finally, we had proved that building a winner WAS possible in Corvallis, we PROVED that we belonged. When Riley left, we brought in Gary Andersen, convinced he would build us into a West Coast Wisconsin. We had long swore that we would never return to the irrelevance of the 70's and 80's. So, when Andersen returned us to the dumpster and then fled in the middle of the night, many feared the worst, only to watch local hero Jonathan Smith rise up and lead us back to the highs of Riley's greatest teams, and with such success, we got long overdue upgrades to our stadium! We were BACK, and Jonathan was here to stay and lead us to greater heights than ever!
But now, all that hope is gone. A collapse on the field would have hurt, but we had dealt with such pain before and we would endure it again! But a collapse in leadership? In the SCHOOL and the SPORT?! How could we be asked to endure that? We the fans did everything right! We came to games. When the stadium was bad, when the facilities were bad, when the weather was bad, when the TEAM was bad, WE KEPT COMING! WE STAYED! We were told by EVERYONE in the world that we could succeed with enough hard work and willpower, AND THEN WE DID! And STILL, we were told that we didn't matter. The SCHOOL wasn't told that it had no value and was worthless, WE THE FANS WERE! Those who spent THOUSANDS of hours, BILLIONS of dollars, and who bled, sweat, cried and cheered this school through EVERYTHING were now being cast aside and laughed at by those who had NEVER had to fight as hard as us.
And yet, channels like THIS and others will pretend that it's just business as usual and that we should just shut up and accept it. I'm here to tell you right now: WE. WILL. NOT! We will not be made a punchingbag, we will not accept relegation on nothing more than the ramblings of deluded old men in their ivory towers, and we will not be paying customers of a sport that pushed us into the cold and mocked us on the way out. I'm not going to pretend that OSU is blameless. We had terrible coach after terrible coach and were led by an incompetent administration for DECADES, leading to us being the West Coast equivalent of Vanderbilt. Yet, we FIXED IT! We rose from the ash to become WORTHY opponents and bonafide contenders! Yet, instead of being rewarded for our patience, for our suffering, we are PUNISHED! Condemned to die a slow death in the rotting carcass of the Group of Five as it descends into the same football hell that encompasses the FCS, D2 and D3.
So please, don't act like this is just some rebuilding program that "Just needs a year or two of big success and they'll be right there with the big boys!" Call it like it is: We are a fanbase that has had EVERYTHING ripped away from us in the blink of an eye with no path back. We were robbed, beaten, and spit on. We were WRONGED, and NO ONE with any kind of power or authority is showing any interest in fixing it. At some point, there's no reason to keep fighting, especially when you aren't even being given a chance. It's one thing to try and be like Rocky fighting Apollo, it's another to try and be like Rocky fighting Apollo while being shanked by Paulie.

You should do player rankings and top positions in each conferences by team qb,rb,ol,etc.

I like that idea! I’ll for sure keep that in mind and see what we can do!

Not sure why so many are picking Purdue to lose to Oregon State. Like you said, Oregon State is a team that is not gelled at all. Purdue has more talent, and though they're not great, they have a better idea of what they're doing this season. They have more to play for. Purdue isn't great, nor good, but Oregon State's roster situation, and coaching experience is very concerning.

Great respect from GE for these two "leftover" PAC 12 teams. DM

It’s sad what has happened to them. I’m hoping both teams have very successful seasons and then find a permanent home in the near future!

I feel Washington State is in a better spot out of the two left behind in the Pac though it is not by much for this season. Next year we will see on the schedule, but I would think same type of deal for next year with mostly mountain west schools on the schedule. Beyond that who knows. It is literally anyone’s guess.
