Perhaps the police department should work closely with psychologists before doing such stunts. They do not realise what kind of an impact negatively they are making. So basically by broadcasting these parades they are encouraging people and showing that they are high profile rowdies and they go about establishing themselves in their neighbourhoods growing their foothold among those people who fantasize.

All those who are saying these people shouldn’t be treated this way, please understand, police are doing their job. These parades are to identify criminals which also helps them in any other cases. So it’s very important to know how criminals are changing their appearances every now and then.
Tattoos , studs, long hair etc etc.
Let’s say one of them commit crime again and during investigation, these sort of appearance marks helps to catch hold of criminals easily. Additionally this also helps identify drug paddlers.
Coming to Politicians, they’re elected by people themselves. We saw what happened to that Muruga swami and how people came in his support even after knowing he’s at fault.
