I had an argument recently with a person on TH-cam who said Beyonce was better than Etta at singing this song. The person called her names because (like a lot of people during this time in history) Etta drank too much. You can see here she is intoxicated (by some of her mannerisms), yet her vocals are stunning, her passion is unsurpassed, and her anguish is there for all to see. This is what a real singer looks like and sounds like. Making your heart ache in your chest as you listen to her pain.

This is a WOMAN’S song, Beyoncé’s little voice is sugary and nice, Etta didn’t write or sing this song to be sugary and nice. Etta❤️

Etta publically said that she didn't like Beuonce's cover of this tune. I don't blame her. Beyonce is milk toast crap

Even with ALL the Struggles Ms. James went through God must've of truly loved her because through it all, she never lost her ability to sing or give her all every time she performed.

just watched Heroin and now miss Etta, 2 of the greatest I've ever seen. My wife got first row tickets at the Scottsdale Center of the Arts, we snuck in some beers, drank them and put them next to the seats at the end of the 3rd song, My wife repositioned herself and kicked them both over and they go rolling down and smashed into the stage, every body heard it as they spun round and round. Etta didn't miss it and she came running over to our side of the stage, laughing and smiling, and started yelling 'I was hoping some real people would be here in Snottsdale!'

Pure blues. Another great live performance - Patti LaBelle and the Bluebelles - a 1965 live performance from a Brooklyn theatre of "You'll Never Walk Alone" (black &white video). Patti's voice was at its best in her early years.

I love this amazing song by Etta James. She has what most of the industry has lost;real soul.Anither mind blowing rendention of this can be found if you look up Angelina Jordan Id rather go blind. This singer, born in Norway ,with a raspy smokey vocal of this classic blows the song out of the water.Oh and did I mention she was only 12 years old Now 18 ,she has performed for Legends such as Quincy Jones and is collaborating with the writer, producer Toby Gad and has a rereleased single If If I were a Boy.Great reaction You two know what real music is And Angelina sings real music

I have seen Etta perform several times. She always put on great live performances. She was also one of the many black artists who paid the kind of dues that are illegal today. She never earned the kind of money that artists get today. So, when Beyonce performed "At Last" at the inaugural ball, Etta was hurt that she wasn't asked to perform her signature song. I don't know if Etta's name was even mentioned. I would love to hear an acknowledgment of Etta's greatness and her contributions to music from Beyonce.
    RIP Etta James
