    The explanation in this video is of the high level clarity. For a two-way slab, STAAD is treating the loads on beams as triangular and trapezoidal. What about if I prefer to have it rectangular loads acting on beams. What shall be done in STAAD to make it rectangular loads from a two-way slab?

    Could you please elaborate slab dead loads, floor finish, and live load in that aspect. I really love the way you teach, you do almost explain all the doubts that arise. Great work.

    Very lucidly explained. As regards defining the Moments such as Mz, doesn't Staad Pro calculate the Moments?

    • @CivilBlackBox
      @CivilBlackBox  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you. STAAD calculates all the internal moments due to external loads. As for applying direct external moments you will have to do it by yourself. Hope that helps!

    Sir is there any way to remove the assigned load?
    It happens sometimes that by mistake I add the load to different member than the targetted and then I have to repeat the whole process again.

    How do you apply loads on a truss that's part of a concrete structure?
    Can the load be the same? or will there have to be a different set of load for that too?

    • @CivilBlackBox
      @CivilBlackBox  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      In my opinion it doesn't really matter whether the load sets have been taken together or separately. The real issue is to take all those sets in the load combinations wisely. If you are vigilant of this then it is a better way to create load sets separately. It helps organize things much better.

    • @ciangrai7619
      @ciangrai7619 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CivilBlackBox Okay, thank you. On running analysis I find that there's no error apart from 2 warnings but I'm still skeptical about the loads. Haha

    6:13 how to know value of fx fy etc.

    • @CivilBlackBox
      @CivilBlackBox  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Fx Fy etc. are the loading parameters. These will depend upon the kind of loading on your structure. Some of these will be codal parameters the rest will be unique to every project.

  • @sasi74

    Why u give self weight -1 ?

    • @CivilBlackBox
      @CivilBlackBox  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The -ive sign represents the downward Y direction since in the conventional STAAD system the +Y is upwards and -Y is downwards. Hope this helps.

    • @CivilBlackBox
      @CivilBlackBox  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sasi74 1 represents the multiplying factor. Say your load is 10 KN. The factor of -1 just tells STAAD to reverse the direction of this 10KN load to -10KN ie. in the downward direction. Using -5 for example would not only reverse the direction but also increase the magnitude of load 5 times ie. -50KN downwards. Hope this helps.

    • @Surya_kolkata
      @Surya_kolkata 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@CivilBlackBox STAAD pro has the ability to calculate self weight of a member/section on its own, which happens when Selfweight command is applied to the whole structure, -1 only changes the direction of the already calculated load(self weight) to downward direction, as Sir said
