i have been ac dc fan since I was 13 years old. Now I"m 48 years young. still fan of ac dc. this is indeed a very, very good cover. dkm just is a superband! let them cover any band, it will be good. I"d like to see them cover a lovesong by slayer... rockmusic never dies.
ah yes, I agree, but keep in mind the lead singer is half scottish, so hell, it's perfect, irish american band with a half scottish singer doing a Scots-Aussie song, some damn good things came out of Australia!
I'm a big AC/DC and Dropkick Murphys fan,, and the first time i saw Dropkick Murphy's live they played this cover of AC/DC. My heart stopped beating and I was in heaven. I've seen Dropkick Murphys 5 times now and none of them were so good as the first time I saw them.
Don't care for ac-dc but I've seen dropkick live 8 times now. The last time my awesome girlfriend and I saw em' in Duluth Minnesota and they are still so great live. Love u guys!!!
I like that in Dropkick Murphy's shows I'm able to cry not like sappy tears about corny love songs n such , I cry tears of a warrior ,these emotions reinforce my fierceness , I am a DM fan & proud of it.
he actually could. It's one of the reasons why Brian doesn't ever want to play it. It was Bon's song and he put so much in it including playing the bag pipes so Brian has it be Bon's song
Fuck yeah ...... THE BEST cover of this song yet. I just watched all the other bands covering this world heritage song ... fuck it up big time and I called them out.
Angus and Malcolm Young were born in Scotland and Brian Johnson and Cliff Williams were born in England ... Phil Rudd was born in Melbourne ... but they are classed as an Australian band because this awesome country was where it all started!
@Just Gofish nice try, brian Johnston came on board in the late 70s, after bon Scott's tragic demise. the others were immigrants who grew up in Australia. fun fact, angus amd malcolms older brother George was in the easy beats
Ok, a bit of background first: I am an Australian, born and raised my entire life in Melbourne's suburbs. My family is predominantly Irish, Scottish and Scots-Irish (with a heavy dose of Viking) in heritage, and came out to Australia in the 1840s, mainly because of the Famine. I grew up listening to AC/DC, and I have to say, in my honest opinion, this is possibly the best cover of an AC/DC song I have ever heard in my life. I ain't saying that it's better than the original, but I am saying that it is damn close. Nice work, guys.
This has to be one of the strangest musical coincidences that I've come across being an Australian football league fan considering that Shippin' up Boston has been used to promote TV coverage of the AFL in recent years and It's a long way to the top has been an unofficial anthem of the AFL's finals series for pretty much as long as it's existed
They still play and still kick ass!! I saw them at the palladium back in feb. I met ken and scruffy! They are chill bastards for sure!! LET'S GO MURPHYS!!!
Why should it matter, where the people are from? The music matters, when the music is great, everything will be great. Enjoy the music - enjoy yourself. Nationality is like sportclubs - it fucks everything up. I'll give you guys an example, it was after a Motörheadconcert in Hanover, the party was great, the people were awesome ... and then, in front of the door, someone was shouting: "Hanover 96" then another one: "Hanover 06" then the third one: "Eintracht Brunswick" The fans of these two clubs can't stand each other - the battery started immediately. For me, this is stupid, not understandable. The people went to a concert, the fans feel the same feelings about the music and then, suddenly, they become enemies just because someone is in a different sportclub? I got friends all over the world and I don't care where they are from as long as the heart is to be found at the right spot. Nationality is not more than a word to me, for me, it means less than a chewing gum under my shoe. It fucks everything up.
It´s A FUCKING GREAT SONG, I "discover today at morning the band dropkick murphys! And I Never see this cover before! and I love ac/dc! It´s Fucking great Music played and writed by GREAT musicians! and BIGROCKERS!
I'm sorry, but how does this vid have dislikes? It's a great group covering a great song by a great group. I thought music was supposed to unify the world.
Why do people always think when a band covers a song "this isn't as good as the original" They aren't trying to be as good or trying to be better. They a trying to bring there own spice to the song and make it there own while still showing tribute to the original because it inspired them or they liked it that much, stop comparing and start opening your ears. Even I love the original to pieces but I can admit DKM did a kick ass job making this there own and I love it.
@tactical2bagpipes I know that, and that is why i knew DM would be perfect to cover this song, did you know that Acca Dacca had to tune their instruments to the bagpipes and because of that it is very hard to play to that song
I love the energy and I like recording sonically. Tempo is slightly faster than original by a few BPMs. The singer holds my most severe criticism even though I dig this version. The snare sounds great, too, great body, but I would have touched it up by 1-2 dB, or used a classic SM57 right on the head in a small room to get a more in-your-face imitation of Phil Rudd's original.
@Galooper67 With this song I grew up, actually my first AC / DC Album and I was 8 years old DKM did a great job covering this song - I pretty sure even Bon Scott rock in Hell to their songs Björn - also from Germany but likes the Irish and Scots very much
Dropkick are not the best at playing but they play with heart and that is the core of punk. They give their all and the bagpipes just knock it out of the park.
I am a huge AC/DC fan, almost 20 years now, and this has got to be one of my 3 favorite AC/DC covers.
i have been ac dc fan since I was 13 years old. Now I"m 48 years young. still fan of ac dc. this is indeed a very, very good cover. dkm just is a superband! let them cover any band, it will be good. I"d like to see them cover a lovesong by slayer... rockmusic never dies.
And the two other covers You like?
Fuck y'all who disrespect! Dropkick fucking rocks and they definitely rocked this song! Waiting for another tour and album gents.
I don't always listen to the DKM's, but when I do...so do the neighbors!
Fukn A 🤘😎🤘
Hell YEAH 🤘🤘
Amen
Yes sir 🥃
AWESOME!!!!
An Irish-American band playing a Scots-Aussie band's song, it had to be fuckin brilliant!
Hell yeah, it's fuckin' awesome!
Bloody brilliant is right!
Bloody oath, Ned. Bloody fucking oath.
ah yes, I agree, but keep in mind the lead singer is half scottish, so hell, it's perfect, irish american band with a half scottish singer doing a Scots-Aussie song, some damn good things came out of Australia!
Yes it is...al Barr is half scotch half German. Sings in German when they tour Germany.
A Scottish Australian tune covered by an Irish American band, and pretty damn good if you ask me! I think Bon would be proud.
yes good job
How are they Irish?
@@matthewd2365 They're not actually Irish but Americans of Irish ancestry, that's why the original comment said Irish American.
They rocked it
yes great music, we are all kin folk
I'm a big AC/DC and Dropkick Murphys fan,, and the first time i saw Dropkick Murphy's live they played this cover of AC/DC. My heart stopped beating and I was in heaven.

Weird comment mate , sort of doesn't make sense
Bagpipes makes everything sounds better.
nearly like cheese on food
Zod of Heaven that comment made my day!
Try telling that to them homeless mooks getting their head down at Bournemouth bus station! lol
They're the new cowbell.
Sure does.
You guys motivation music moves me daily. Thanks from Atlantic coast Canada.
You folks are really F great. Best version ever…congrats from 🇧🇷
I think Bon Scott would be proud of this cover. It's one of the better covers I've heard in a while, AND they even use bagpipes.
Oh my GOD where have you guys been all my life. I just moved to New Orleans come back PLEASE!
it took me 20 years but Oh My GOD!
Saw these guys Mardi Gras New Orleans 2014. Words cant express how great of a show it really was.
Dropkick is the best band in the world, and so is AC/DC too, put this together and you have DYNAMITE( TNT! ^^).

Sends chills, great pipes all..Celtic Pride, enough said....
he actually could. It's one of the reasons why Brian doesn't ever want to play it. It was Bon's song and he put so much in it including playing the bag pipes so Brian has it be Bon's song

You do know that "Viking" isn't a nationality? But whatever you gotta use to try to impress people, I guess.
I'm half Viking, half Pict, I knew what he meant :P
Atraxus Wraithe

Aussies can be whoever they want to be. Being Aussie of Irish descent myself.
Too the Irish/ Scots in Australia. Fuck yeah
Irac iz Srbije vas pozdravlja!
Bravo à vous respect. Bon Scott le meilleur chanteur d AC⚡️DC.
Greetings from Alaska, USA!
They still play and still kick ass!! I saw them at the palladium back in feb. I met ken and scruffy! They are chill bastards for sure!! LET'S GO MURPHYS!!!

Isn't life beautiful?
It´s A FUCKING GREAT SONG, I "discover today at morning the band dropkick murphys! And I Never see this cover before! and I love ac/dc! It´s Fucking great Music played and writed by GREAT musicians! and BIGROCKERS!
Most Definitely!! hell i know there's no ten star rating but lets just say there is and we'll give it 10 stars! Deal?
Many cover bands have done this song, and DKM is the closest to the real deal. The melody is played almost as good as AC/DC
But , actually is not a cover, is AC DC the music in this video.
@lugaidhwelsh6159 that is definitely NOT ACDC playing the song in this video. It is 100% DKM.
I'm sorry, but how does this vid have dislikes? It's a great group covering a great song by a great group. I thought music was supposed to unify the world.

you can't touch AC/DC's version of this, but this is still fantastic! The one thing i like more on this version is the bagpipes are less shrill
yes AGREED!!!
Best AC/DC cover i've heard
Check Joan Jett doing 'Dirty Deeds'.

Bruce Dickinson's Sin City is fucking class though!

Greetings from Elsass you celtic dudes !!!
Long live celtic punk from Boston
My favorite song!
@tactical2bagpipes I know that, and that is why i knew DM would be perfect to cover this song, did you know that Acca Dacca had to tune their instruments to the bagpipes and because of that it is very hard to play to that song
Great AC-DC cover!
If any other band is gonna sing ACDC then let be TDKM ,,. You guys rock
acdc could be proud of their irish neighbours :p
Actually Dropkick Murphys are an American Celtic punk rock band lol I made the same mistake at first too
Deadpool they are of irish blood
AC DC are from Australia.
All of them with scottish roots
Christoph Schneider they are from Boston, they might have irish in their blood but not directly irish
Dropkicks kick ass!
Never pick a fight in an Irish bar cuz chances are you'll be facing these badasses :D LONG LIVE DROPKICK MURPHYS :D
I really like the minor bit of artistic license DKM took to make this their own, and consider this a worthy tribute to this classic.
Great cover, for sure.
Unbelievable!
Respect from Finland!
And Australia 👍
Great job on the pipes Joe!
Just Awsome !!! 👍👍

great cover murphys

For fucks sake mate we all know you can't out AC/DC AC/DC but that is pretty fucking good. Bit over analytical maybe just enjoy it 😀
they should stick to this kind of music, it fits them. lead vocals are a little hard to get used to but its cool
@Galooper67
With this song I grew up, actually my first AC / DC Album and I was 8 years old
DKM did a great job covering this song - I pretty sure even Bon Scott rock in Hell to their songs
Björn - also from Germany but likes the Irish and Scots very much
And I LOST MY LEGS!! K-Town Celt Punk Fest it has been Written...Legless pete...
Dropkick are not the best at playing but they play with heart and that is the core of punk. They give their all and the bagpipes just knock it out of the park.
@themrchimpie I could be wrong, but aren't these guys Irish-American? I'm pretty sure they're from Boston.
Yeah, it feels like forever, at times
Ooor yeah! Thanks for this! Liked.
Great remake I love it.mmm..
