Well, guess that doesn't work against Marine & Ghost, which counter every single unit composition in the game. Which wouldn't be a problem except it's also the most boring unit composition

Hellclone builds, mass mech w/ thors, BCs, sky terran with mass liberator, even more esoteric stuff like mass reapers or banshees, all viable unit compositions. And much more importantly, far more interesting and fun to watch. It's not just that marine & ghost is good against every single unit composition in the game, it's that it's boring and has no real weaknesses (And no, Banelings do not count as weaknesses when medivacs are involved)

All games that the Terran actually wants to win will endgame with Ghosts+Liberators and decide between Vikings or more Bio underneath depending on the comp the Zerg goes for. Any other units are immediately made nearly obsolete by the existence of Infestors and Vipers, and even then Vipers invalidate any massed air units with Parabomb. A skill people often forgets does 120 damage to ALL air units in it, and requires an ungodly precise APM count to split 1-2 or them off mid-fight while also splitting your bio underneath. Thors and BCs are Neural Parasite food more often than not, and is thus unreliable. They're damn good units - Except that they belong to the Zerg when the top Zergs are playing. Marines+Ghosts don't counter everything in the game, either. The only way they do is if you're Clem and aren't getting caught by a Fungal that wipes 30+ bio supply off the map or a Disruptor ball catching you at a bad angle. Otherwise, they absolutely DO NOT counter everything. Remember Snipe has been nerfed twice now and EMP is just a slightly different Fungal. (There's a reason Zerg has one 6 of the last 7 world championships).
