I've always loved this song since 1999 when I first heard it on "The Best Man" soundtrack...April 2022, I had just found out that I was 1 month pregnant with my first child. This song came on a SiriusXM station and I got excited, rubbed my belly & whispered to the baby that THIS was our song... unfortunately, I lost him almost 4 months later (same day we found out the sex of the baby). Iconic album - "Songs In the Key of Life". I had this album and it's from a time when a lot of people still cared about lyrics! This is the album that had a few top ten or twenty hits: I Wish, Sir Duke and Isn't She Lovely. This was 4-LP set - back in the days of records, cassettes, 45s (and yes, people who had 8-track tape). The music industry was so different back then. I miss those simpler times: taping stuff from the radio if you couldn't afford to buy records. And most people were proud of their various collections.
...I must admit, Itoo tear up listening to this, reminiscing of My Life(...up to this point)2 miracles ( ...ten years ago, doctors telling Me to"...get Mt things in order" & last month, going to bed, having a diabetic seizure in My sleep, waking up in a Covina hospital, not knowing I got there, to find out My Son,A.J.,saved My Life (...slow ambulance, they go "confused cause My street turns to ave. From street down the way.Thank U ,Lord for My BLESSINGS!!!

I have been a Stevie Wonder fan since I was 6 years old. I remember living in a van with my parents in Daly City in the bay area as we struggled to find a rental that would accept children. My dad had Talking Book on a new fangled cassette tape and he played that album most every night. I had the 2 CD version of Songs in the Key of Life and misplaced the second disk so only really discovered this song this past spring. My husband passed away unexpectedly in August and I decided to end his funeral with the playing of this song. I was not sure he approved until I was sitting with his close friend outdoors and explaining how a drop of water appeared on my forehead from a dry ceiling as a sign of his continuance in spirit. A neighbor had been playing classical music that we could hear, across the yards, but when I explained about the water drop, this song started to play. It was another sign and one I hold dear to my heart.

We closed my aunt casket to this song. As the song crescendo we all put our hands on the casket and it was like the lyrics were speaking our heart and the seriousness of the moment. The moment we would close the casket and never see her again. I didn't even know what this song was called but I had to find it. I searched "always". The lyrics of this song are out of this world. Beautiful beyond comprehension, maybe because I heard it with such emotional context, but honestly I think this song is stuck with me forever now.

Man, I don't know...when I listen to this song..I feel like God is singing this to mankind...through Stevie Wonder. I really believe some of these songs come from heaven - God's gift in disguised in the *ordinary* giving *soft hints* that it is Him who whispers these sweet messages in our ears. I hear this in the song, "A whole knew world" sang by Peabo Bryson and Regina Belle. It is like GOD tells us what He can do for us...like someone *courting* another.
