I disagree with the point raised @6:50. Not using the always on display feature doesn't really defeat the purpose of having this kind of watch. Having the display on when you're not looking at it, seems like a massive waste of energy imo. I've been using my Watch 4 Classic with the raise to wake mode and it works ~90% of the time, and allows me to have two day battery life.
Well, the idea behind a watch, in general, is that the time is always visible at a glance. I feel like if you have to "wake it up", you might as well just use your phone.
The issue with always on display is that you can get screen burn. I got it on my watch 4 after 2 1/2 years of use. Now i ordered a watch 7, but i will not make the same mistake again.
@@En4cer2K9 That's the thing though, once you get used to the raise to wake gesture, the time is practically always available when you need it. It takes a few days of practice but once you get it, you can reliably activate raise to wake 90% of the time with ease. I only need to do a slight roll of the wrist to get it activated
i also have the 4. as a daily wearer i was thinking about upgrading to the 7. what are the main things youve noticed between them? looking at the specs it honestly doesnt seem like much of an upgrade other than the processor and the battery
We've waited til this Black Friday to get ours. My wife with the Watch 7 and I'll be getting Ultra...looking forward to it. She'll be coming from the Galaxy Active 2.
I've been wearing a Galaxy Watch Active2 for the past couple years. I was thinking about trading it in and buying the Watch 7 as an upgrade, but after seeing all the comments about the mediocre battery life (which apparently also was an issue with the Watch 6), I decided to buy a second-hand Watch 5 Pro for $120 lol. So yeah. The Watch 5 Pro has pretty good battery life.
I think it depends on what you have active. I don't need gps, wifi, always on. Getting 3 days on my watch 4 active.. down to about 30% so probably could get another day.
Nice review - had my GW7 for 1.5 weeks. I agree battery life is not amazing but I do get better than 24h with 60+mins GPS and 45 mins circuit training. I also use the always on display but do disable "raise wrist to wake" and NFC. Processor is a big step up especially if you use background apps (like Spotify) while working out.
What would you recommend for a first smartwatch . . I have an android phone and would like one with good health benefits . . Your recommendations would be appreciated . . Thank you and enjoy your videos
Went from the Galaxy Watch 5 to the 7... It's a worthy bump, and given Samsung's generous trade-in for pre-orders ($200!) was definitely worth it. Only gripe so far, I'm one of the early adopters with battery life issues (shorter life than my two year old Watch 5 had)... Hope that is just a software bug like they're saying...
Thanks Lisa! I've tried the Galaxy watch and the Apple watch, but ultimately charging another device every day or 1.5 days just wasn't worth it. Then, I got a pure fitness watch, the Coros Pace 3, and this thing keeps a charge for over a week, depending on how much I use the GPS for runs. No, I don't have Apple/Samsung pay, but I get notifications, and it's amazing for fitness and sleep tracking. Until these phone companies get better battery life, I just can't buy into the ecosystem.
The only way I'd a buy a "smart watch" is if it could completely replace my phone. Which they can't. So I do t see the point or purpose of them. I think even all the watches with an e-sim still require a phone to set them up, which is stupid. Reminds me of the days when an iPad required a computer or iPhone to even set it up. They still require internet to set up and use, which is one of the big reasons I never buy apple anymore. All this tech supposedly getting better... and yet it just keeps getting more bloated and headache inducing.
Hi Lisa, I recently upgraded to the Galaxy Watch 7 44mm. It is such an improvement over the GW4! I've only recently started using my watch to monitor my sleep, but it doesn't start tracking when I go to bed or fall asleep. Often the first couple of hour are omitted. I consistently go to bed at 10:00 PM, is there a way to tell the watch to start monitoring my sleep?
Hi Lisa! Love your reviews, been watching since I was in middle school. I was wondering if you would be reviewing the Asus Proart px13? It's the only 13 inch 2-1 with dedicated graphics and the new AMD AI 300 chips. I have a 2021 Dell XPS 15 that's on life support and need an upgrade for college. I'm just concerned about battery life and heating for such a compact yet powerful convertible. Thanks!
I used to be a similar position as you, looking for the most powerful and compact device. But now that I'm about double your age, I'm going with a 17" laptop for ease on the eyes haha.
Since the update I'm easily getting a full day plus with AOD. My sister's Apple is not any better. You seem so negative......I have a 4 5 and 7. Awesome watch. I run media in my car from my watch by voice, text people back almost instantly with Ai, turn on my sprinkler system, unlock my car, listen to Audible on headphones, to say nothing of all the health tracking ,😊 pretty cool, and it gets recharged in the time it takes me to take a shower. Oh, I can also do cool things like remotely control the camera on my phone.
I would love to get a "smarter" smartwatch (installing apps, etc) but honestly, with 24hrs of battery life it is still a no-go for me. After switching from my beloved Huawei GT2 (3 full years on my wrist, 10+ days of battery life), I recently got Huawei Fit 3. NO WORDS. Samsung should take notes and for the time being, be a little bit ashamed.
@@secret1dentity I still don’t understand why they can’t do it, I’m not asking for a 10 day battery life but at least give 3 *full* days of usage. Or they’ll present it as a grand feature in a few years.
I bought it on pre order and I wish I'd waited to see the new pixel watch. I really don't like that I can't delete Samsung apps and can't reassign the Samsung pay button. I use a pixel phone and I don't want any Samsung only apps on my watch. They also restrict some of the health info. They may think it will sell more phones but I think it just puts off people from buying their watches. I probably won't get another Samsung watch.
I got mine five days ago. The battery life is TERRIBLE. The always on display is OFF and I still only get about 10-12 hours of life. Stay away until they get the battery life issue resolved.
Bro... but don't be ungrateful. She gifted you and that was really nice of her. Just bc it doesn't have a bezel you will just ignore it like that and possibly hurt her feelings?.. like ? Do better bro.

Bought mine and love it
Great review 👍. Upgraded from GW4. I just love my 7 :) Very comfortable to wear as well with the sportband. I gets 2 days of battery life.
