Hey man, could you give an update on the exhaust? Specifically whether or not a CEL was thrown or if you think one will be thrown anytime in the future? Thanks!
If you buy any of the cheap eBay exhaust wipe the piping down real good with wd40 before first heat cycle it will turn it a nice golden color as well help it from rusting or turning a rough color from the cheap metal I’ve had a few different eBay exhaust and they all have held up great. Usually the fitment is the biggest issue.
Thats the same exhaust i am buying. My mentality is that, its a piece of pipe. It does the exact same thing as an exhaust that cost 1k or more. Now, if you have the money for a super expensive exhaust then, yes go ahead and spend the money. But if you are on a budget and have a little mechanical skills? Why not buy a cheap ebay one and make it work. Sir you are my eole model. Much respect.
Ride that bike to downtown Houston, it was worth every trial and challenge . If you have the capability do it , just make sure to repeat the test fit a few times before the weld process
What about the exhaust on ebay that have the headers included would that route be easier than modifying the exhaust? Have you seen them on ebay with the headers?
Literally just ordered one for my 2020 cbr650r. A bit scared of how loud it be due to the UK noise law thing. Best of luck to me. Nice informative video.
That’s what I mean when I do get the exhaust that I ordered. Stock is quite quiet. So i want more sound. But I’m going full loud by getting something similar to the one you got. Ebay special aha
It honestly sounds really good, also you can replace it 5 times and still not spend as much as the one expensive one. You should consider doing a couple of the eBay ruckus pipes in the future. Honestly inspired me to put my own together
That’s a good idea on the Ruckus exhaust. I’ve been wanting to build a header with a standard slip on setup so all you need to do is buy the can … but time is my enemy so far
@@SmallEngineVelocity that’s exactly what I was thinking, so I can try different mufflers. I’m thinking about ordering one of those cheap eBay loudeners, and using a car glass pack or something. If you used the right outlet size you could use a removable baffle
Hey Man, Thank you for this tutorial its helpfull, I orderd a simeler one. But I have a question: in the video I saw you cut the exhaust pipe twice-once from the pipe's end and once from the spot where it was welded. Therefore, I'm not really sure where to cut it. Please, can you explain this to me?
Hey quick question. I just bought this exhaust for my 2018 CBR650F. I cant find what kind of metal the OEM headers are made of. I am hiring out the welding job and they were asking. Any idea on this? Also, love the video. this def made my decision a lot easier for a new exhaust. Thank You!
Wow! that looks well thought out from the company that made the exhaust pipe kit. 🤔 I like it. My motorcycle also had a single piece header and cat on it....
Hi I know this video is a couple weeks old but I am currently looking to buy that exhaust, did you have any CEL or codes thrown ? Thanks in advance if you see this comment
Dude thank you for this video. I was debating if I should save money for an akropovic or go with an eBay exhaust + a slip on. I just want it to sound aggressive and cool andddd it’s cheaper. Thank you
There are other better sounding exhaust systems comparable to Akrapovic if you're gonna pop the db killer out, and with db killer inserted the Akra is probably one of the worst ones to get. Mivv, Ixil, Shark, Zard (I think), SC-Project all have pretty dope systems
Great job. Hope more people by these.. might push the big manufacturers to come down to more realistic prices.. Hope you keep it on there. Maybe just put some high temp paint on the welds under the bike.
I bought an eBay 3/4 Austin Racing exhaust. It’s way to loud. It’s like I’m running open headers. I know “if it’s to loud, you’re to old”. I’ve ordered a DB killer and when it gets here try to quiet it down. I just don’t want to wake up the neighbors going for a ride on Sunday mornings. About the to old part… yes it’s true. I’ve been riding motorcycles since 86. That and the fact I worked in a metal shop, my hearing is crap. Add those factors up and I’m still telling you it’s to loud. ..well take it how you want.
Honestly imo I think most exhausts are more marketing than technology when sold to Westerners. Yeah full systems will fit a lot more perfectly and can be legally sound in regards to emissions like Akrapovic which still has a cat. At the end of the day though they are simply pieces of metal with certain non-negotiable shape depending on the bike and a canister at the end with baffling and cotton packing. I fail to see how that can reach 2k usd when people in China can take the same blueprints and crank them out for a fraction of the cost with minimal marketing. 90% of us are buying pipes for sound and not max performance. Let's be realistic on that point. I've been involved with motorcycles for 20+ years now and the one thing I miss is the older days when most bikes could just take a slip on and you get the desired effect immediately. These one piece systems now require more money to replace and more labor.
now that sounds like a sport bike. much better I bought an E Bay exhaust Aswell for my new 650 ninja the pipes a small the sound comes from the muffler I did not see paying 800.00 for the whole system when I just got a two brothers' muffler, and it sounds great and only have a little over 240.00 dollars in it.
Usually you should always do a tune if you're changing a whole exhaust system (if it's only the muffler it's ok), in this case the majority of the cat and muffler is gone so a tune is always a good idea. Unless of course the maker says you don't need a tune because it's built to stock specc like I assume is the case for Akrapovic and stuff.
I have a 100$ ebay akrapovic slip on, on my KTM duke and it sound pretty much like the real one. He's probably not last long has the real titanium one but for 100$ I can change it 10 time haha
So obviously, just by looking at it, we know which exhaust it a copy of, the only real difference, other than some visual points is the original version of this exhaust has a bit deeper tone.
People give way to much credit to exhaust manufactures for a lot of slip on designs. Toke and SC Project exhaust by their very nature are very basic cans with almost no baffling, muffling, etc. Sometimes they're made of titanium or other lightweight materials which can add value but the design isn't great or difficult and for those specific designs Ebay mufflers sound pretty much the same and will (probably) look pretty clone and last about as long from a practical standpoint. Things like the Yoshi R77 or the Akrapovic that comes with the CBR-RRR are examples of slip ons/systems that probably took great effort to make and would be hard to replicate in quality/sound without the cost going up.
Great video dude. Sounds exactly like my friends CBR650R's exhaust that has an original AR exhaust kit!!!!!! I wonder how long it will last tho? I think maybe we are being ripped by these big branded companies 🤔
Hey man, could you give an update on the exhaust? Specifically whether or not a CEL was thrown or if you think one will be thrown anytime in the future?
Thanks!
No CEL, probably driven 900 miles since the install. I will say that I will probably put the silencer back in on road trips.
2021 Cb650r here, 8k with aftermarket exhaust and no cel
Dude I wouldn't be embarrassed to say I have that exhaust. It looks and sounds amazing
Maybe its just me? Because its obvious ripoff of another exhaust. If it didn't have the slip on springs it would be hard to tell.
If you buy any of the cheap eBay exhaust wipe the piping down real good with wd40 before first heat cycle it will turn it a nice golden color as well help it from rusting or turning a rough color from the cheap metal I’ve had a few different eBay exhaust and they all have held up great. Dang it , good advice. I have a few tiny spots on there. I wish I had done that first.

Wow this is the exact video i was looking for! Good video

Adulting! Yeah how regular people shell out $1300 on exhaust blows my mind. That exhaust sounds incredible! Great video my dude!
4 stroke exhausts are simple, just get the gas out. On a 2 stroke I can understand a cash outlay moreso.
What about the exhaust on ebay that have the headers included would that route be easier than modifying the exhaust? Have you seen them on ebay with the headers?
What do you think? Does its make you WANT one or STAY AWAY from one? 😬
Literally just ordered one for my 2020 cbr650r. A bit scared of how loud it be due to the UK noise law thing. Best of luck to me. Nice informative video.
Stock it’s not loud at all
It’s quite quiet

That just sound wayyyyyy better .
They're all short to long glass packed mufflers with or without baffles ,if you like it ,enjoy.
Mostly Caesar they do make exhaust muffler for my Piaggio but cost to much! So I got M4 exhaust made for sports bikes!
Did u have to trim larger opening of adapter as well? It looks bigger than stock decatted collector pipe

Hey! Do you think I can get away with this mode without a tune?
I wouldn't do it without a tune for the long run. But where are you gonna get a tune for this thing?
Man that changed everything it sounds fantastic even over my phone that is impressive it looks good too for that money home run👍✌️
Thanks , the gable paid off and buys me time to save for a better exhaust (if I even replace it)
@@SmallEngineVelocity yeah I can understand that it sounds awesome
Sounds better than the stock exhaust 😎🤠🔥🔥🔥
thanks
I did this on my maxi scooter honda forza 300 it sounded good with a silencer ofcourse, it made a big difference.
It was harder than what the add posted as "Bolt on". FYI I am in the process of a 158cc Zuma build, video series starts tomorrow .
Question. Are you saying that the CS Racing exhaust is not very good.....?
I have a eBay exhaust for my 07 ER6N and love it, especially since it’s a track only bike now
Could you do a ride by sound video? Or maybe a review comparing this to one of the $250 full exhaust kits from eBay
Hey man great video, how has the exhaust held up ....mainly the slip on bit? thanks
I like it I’m ordering 1 now thanks man
No problem 👍Glad you got use out of it. I just ripped on the freeway with it today and love every second of it. for ME it was worth it
How I find it
I can’t find it is there a name for it or something I’m trying to put it on 2022 Honda cb500f

Cut where the header and muffler meet. After that off the 1st layer of the stock header. You see a weld holding in place

I'm 50 and when you loose some hearing it sucks and you don't want to loose anymore :) I get it
They don't test back pressure on eBay exhaust. So you can get engine damage by using it. The combustion does not complete like the genuine exhaust.
Much better 🚀🚀

No I did not
looks like I'm going to pick up a set of eBay headers and a proper slip on
Great video!
Thanks!
Looks and sounds amazing. I wonder, are the Titanium ones offered on eBay real titanium? Or just the titanium look?
I feel they mean titanium look and not the actual materials
@@SmallEngineVelocity That’s what I’m thinking as well. Either way, for the price, that exhaust offers great value. Congrats!
China tricks you. Like carbon fiber look vs actual carbon fiber - sometimes you find gems

none and I have done two track days (rev out up to 4th gear) and about 1000 miles since I did this.
class ring, what's that?

Honda would do some dumb bs like that welding that big cat box to the header, how stupid.
For some reason many >500cc bikes have this..
The mt07 or r7 from Yamaha also has one whole blob and would need a complete exhaust system replaced.
