I can’t wait to go to Ireland one day. We have the same divide in the US where much more of the population lives in the east. 🇺🇸🇮🇪

Great job! I've been to County Clare, and I remember thinking it was really empty - now I know why!

Most of the people live in east clare aswell so the east /west thing is in play even in counties and if not its north/south as in county kerry

This is because the Irish famine especially affected the rural and poor west and also due to the poorer soil

Look at how dark parts of Kerry are at 0:19, Imagine the night sky

Scotland is the same, 80% of people in Scotland live in the Central belt and the east coast

The same uneven distribution can be applied to Denmark. Around 50% of the population lives in Zealand and the Capital regions.

I like your videos. But it's not up to date. Covid has caused a massive migration of people from east to west and even people from outside of Ireland moving to rural areas. This will continue over the next few years Achill Island ran out of water twice last summer because of the number of people. Every beach that was empty/remote pre covid now has people there every day all year. The change has been profound imo

Stephen Salmon Very much doubt it would take a population shift of biblical proportions to change what it was.It does need updating the population of leinster is about 2.9 million now rather than 2.6millon he is going by 2016 census results not this years results

Move the capital to Athlone and watch the country rebalance over time 🙂
