    I’m actually from Donegal
You know your stuff not everyone
    Knowns about Tyrconnell
or how the flag of Donegal is actually
The flag of Tyrconnell or how the English renamed us to Donegal
After Donegal town due to the
    Ulster Plantations
My only criticism is the map
    Of Tyrconnell and O’Neill
is wrong more of Derry would have been historically in Tyrconnell not O’Neill

It’s great so many American people are proud of their Irish roots. Donegal is probably the nicest county in Ireland. West and East Donegal are different with north-east Donegal having some of the best farmland in Europe and also more connected to Derry than to the rest of Ireland. You should definitely come if you can.

I was an English visitor a few years ago so found this very informative but l have a couple of questions l hope someone can answer. First, the climate. I was told depressions generally track over Donegal and then onto Scotland. When the weather here is fine, it’s usually worse over the rest of the British isles. Is this true? Second is more cultural and controversial. I love going to Ireland, know my history and try to be respectful. I felt some, not exactly hostility but let us say a frisson in Donegal which l have not experienced elsewhere in Ireland. i can understand why people might feel hostile but l was not sure if it was me being over sensitive. There were times in pubs where l felt the sound of an English accent was an intrusion into something. Would like to hear some Irish views on this.
