    Thanks for the bus trip report. This reminds me of the two bus trips during my brief stay in Australia last year. I went on a one-day bus trip to visit the Great Ocean Road. The bus departed at the city centre of Melbourne and it took around 2 hours to arrive at the first sightseeing point and the return leg took more than 3 hours. Apart from that, I went on a three-day-two-night bus trip arranged by UQ at Straddie. I am looking forward to your normal trip report next week. Enjoy your weekend! : )

    I actually enjoyed the Stateliner review Jayden, even if you`re not really a bus person. Loved the vision of Adelaide at the beginning - haven`t visited Adelaide in years, and you went through Victoria Square where the hotel was located on my last stay. Now that SA has opened its borders to NSW I bet I know where you`ll be travelling to next!! Enjoy!

    Thanks for the fun and different trip report! You said, "stop for pick-up," but with your accent, I heard, "...stop for peek-up," which translated to "...stop for pee cup." Hahahaha! "What a short stop," I thought...and then, "Aren't there bathrooms on that bus?" Don't mind me, I'm a little whacky today. TIM TAMS!!!!! Love them...especially the dark chocolate ones. Amazingly, we get them here in Milwaukee. I think they're great by themselves, and I can never eat just a few. You look a bit serious eating them, though - none of the expected ecstasy on your face! 😉 I wonder if Stateliner is anything like Greyhound here in the US in terms of comfort and cleanliness? I haven't ridden Greyhound since I was a kid. Funny bathroom review - at least it was clean, if not a bit shaky! Was the basket of goodies in your hotel room free? Looked like some yummy things in there. Great work!

    • @JaydenWong
      @JaydenWong  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Britt! Guess what! I bought some dark chocolate Tim Tams for $1 each at Brisbane domestic airport last month! I think they were from the international terminal. Since no one is flying to overseas, they started selling them at domestic terminal CHEAP😍 even at supermarkets, it's normally $3.60 though I always want patiently for 1/2 so $1.80
      Hopefully they're not too expensive over in the US! The basket with chips wasn't free. Coffee and tea (which I low key care more about) were😂

      There are a few companies that are offering "luxury bus service" in the States. It is 1-2 seating with an attendant on board who serves drinks and meals (usually deluxe sandwiches, cheese, fruits and desserts). Wifi is free and there usually is at least one 4 person conference area separated by a table. Check out services in the Northeast, Texas, LA to Vegas, VA Beach to D.C. I was quite surprised when I learned about these companies. This is an upgrade from Greyhound and it's about time. Of course the fares are higher than Greyhound but certainly worth it.

    Buses are cheap. 😂 I've rode on FireFly, and Murrays before to Melbourne, and from Sydney. Been in that exact boarding area many times. I just didn't like the long hours. Where is Whyalla anyway? Was surprised you guys stopped at Gepp Cross cause that's just an easy 30 - 40 ish minutes away taking the 228 from Adelaide and going North from my experience. Those coaches are pretty standard I'll say in the whole range. 😂

      same everything was fine for me but the long hours just wasn't my thing especially on the bus. Yep I live closer to Gepps Cross than the CBD so would've gotten on the bus there if I knew earlier. Whyalla is up north all the way, you pass through there whilst going to Port Lincoln

    Why no regional train service in SA, Qld has and it's comprehensive over a large area?

    • @JaydenWong

      not enough population to support like USA and Europe. Regional areas in SA only have like thousands of population

    • @samueljesse2179
      @samueljesse2179 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@JaydenWong there is enough population Port Lincoln Whyalla Port Augusta Port Pirie Kadina, Wallaroo to Adelaide.
      It costs more to fund a bus service that almost no one wants in the iron triangle. Western Australia has a regional train service with only a small population. The South Australian government went bust and refused to fund regional trains in SA,they were hugely popular and had plenty of patronage!!! More to the point the South Australian government was hopeless at running a regional train service as a NSW MP recently pointed out. The reason why SA has no train service is because the SA economy went bust in the late 80's however this was pre GST, post GST there is plenty of federal government money in the kit. You are parroting the official line of the liberal party that got the boot in the last election in SA. The liberal party has used this same decietful argument time and time again, I used to use the old bluebird train between Port Pirie and Adelaide and that thing was packed on the trip to Adelaide, its actually ludicrous and an insult to suggest that there was a lack of patronage on the northern regional rail network.
