Renault Master/Vauxhall Movano Sliding Door Fix (constantly showing as open fix) No Rewiring Needed!

My Renault Master had an issue where it constantly showed as open even when I knew it was closed. very irritating as the van beeps at you when you move off and you can't access the trip computer as it says 'Door Open'.
A lot of people try rewiring the brown and white wires in the b pillar which does solve the issue but if you have a bulkhead in place and don't pay much attention to the mirrors then you could easily drive off with the door open.
I had the idea of putting 2 small washers in between the metal guiding thing which brings the door in closer and has solved the issue (for me at least) so give this a try before you start cutting wires.

Just fixed mine had no washers , put a plastic packer in works a treat thanks for that it was driving me nuts .

Thanks for sharing. Our works' van has beeped from brand new and the dealer was unable to fix it. Our best solution was to rachet to door shut from inside, but the door was no longer serviceable.
This fix has done the job. Thanks again.

I know it’s a bit late but I’ve had this issue on and off since 2017 when I bought my 15 plate master, the problem exists because the 5 contacts are a sharp point, it’s not enough to maintain continuity, I literally knocked the tops off those point with sand paper and I’ve not had it beep once since.

Spay a bit of oil on the contacts too and give them a good clean. Worked for me

I had the same problem… a large piece of tin foil folder and wedge it where the 5 metal points are, it beeped for 6 months when I was driving, did it a year ago and never beeped since

Switch top ones to bottom same on female side of door. It's the wear on bottom
