These are just one of those things that you look at think they're bullshit until you actually see them work and then it's fucking impressive as all hell.
When I was 13 my dad had a business trip to Australia and brought back two boomerangs. They were remarkably easy to throw and it took us maybe a half hour to get proficient at having them make a full circle and even catching them in mid air upon return. A few weeks later I was out at the area where I'd go to throw and an older neighborhood bully walked directly into the path of return and simply stood there watching the thing come directly at him. It broke his two front teeth. I knew that guy was an idiot, but I had severely underestimated the depths of his intellect.
Seems like no one in the comment section is impressed with how far this boomerang sails through the air. I was absolutely astounded! At one point it almost disappeared.
The impressive part is the catch. You spend a long time learning how to make it return, but the first day it comes back, you remember, Oh crap! - it's a weapon!

We couldn't tell exactly where it was going, only that it was coming after us! " Wow! It works!... Oh sh!t here it comes!" I don't think he ever threw it again.
The funny thing is this video returned to my feed again after several years just like the boomerang. I'm preety sure that in few years, this video will return again.

After watching this video I quickly ran out to my terrace. surprisingly I could see from a far my boomerang was returning at a great speed. I am feeling super lucky. I had fitted a camera on it. I made some boomerangs as a kid from 15mm ply. Some with 3 arms and some with 4. Each arm was 30cm long. They flew really well but they were damned heavy and you did not attempt to catch one. The 4-armed ones needed 2 hands to throw them. They were lethal.
