As the rider of a Lifan KPR200 I feel is it's my duty to give you the 5 best reasons for you to buy the KPR200. I have seen plenty of people ask but not add it to their list. I want to give a quality bike a fighting chance in a world of overpriced bikes.

I own a GSXR1000 and just purchased an all black one, great super long distance bike @ 106 miles per gallon and at 200cc you definitely can keep up with al the cruisers

Thanks for the review. Lifan isn't too familiar in California, but I can see a niche for the bike in SF. There are tons of Royal Enfields, and other more predominant brands in Asia.

Thanks for the video. Watched it and bought KPR 200 in Ukraine. It is rather fast, looks great (I have black one) and has soft suspension which is good for our roads! Unfortunately we have only carb version here but it cost only $1620! Very small price for very good bike.

Do you have to have a dealer near by to get parts for it?
What type of tires are on the bike?
What is the grip rating on the tires?
What type of battery and how many volts?
I would like to see some real time fuel mileage stats.
These are important questions.
Looks mean nothing, if the engineering doesn't support its lifespan.
I bought a 2019 Suzuki GSX250r for 2600 out the door. The price of those have dropped significantly. It has a two year factory warranty.

But I'd love to see you do a comparison to bike the GSX250r.

My main question is the size. Every video I see. Everyone says it's a fairly small sized bike but you say it's a fairly large bike. I need an average sized but small CC bike so my gf can learn to ride. But I cant find anyone who is able to compare this to any other sized motorcycle

I can do this in some fashion. I was loaned the bike but with the promise that I can be honest in my opinions. I always try to keep it positive because being negative is not really how I like to be. I will see how I can do this.

KPR200 boast a 17 HP motor pushing up to the 24 HP motor of the Suzuki GSX250R. Which out does the approx 12 HP of the Xpro X24. A lot to do with these bikes going slow is just lack the HP....more so than the gearing. Yes that plays a part, but mainly the HP rating. The 17 HP is probably the highest of the small bike category for like the Chinese bikes

Just the exhaust , that’s all. For my height and weight it has plenty of power

It’s a wonderful bike! So question, is it considered a moped due to the speed? Does it require a motorcycle license?
Yes it does in Texas and in all states far as I know
Motorcycle. It meets none of the classifications of a 'moped'/scooter registration. It is a 200cc motorcycle with a manual transmission and top speed far in excess of 35mph.
Okay so other than the warranty what are their benefits are there over say buying a used Ninja 250?
Not much. Other than it’s new. Personally is a badass bike for the price new with amazing fit and finish for a China bike. A used 250/300 ninja is cool too.
From that angle, I actually like the look! I am no fan of fairing bikes (I guess it has to do with my age..."Hey, get off my lawn!!"), so preferred the KP200, which is essentially the same bike, but since the fairing bikes are more plentiful (read; probably better deals on them), I would actually consider a KPR.

For those who trashed this Chinese cheap bike. My experience has being just great. After 35 months of use just turn 10 k miles and I have just replaced chain and sprocket at 6k miles. 2 new tires after 9k. It's that a bad motorcycle?
I feel it's all about how you care for it, any bike for that matter. You seem the person to be responsible for it and take care of it. 10k is amazing :)
Lifan are top Chinese better than some of the " Big Brands " that don't even have fuel injection.
I'm in between buying the KPR200 vs the x22GT 250. Which would you say is the ideal bike for a starter?
KPR200, learn a standard , go faster and be water cooled with more HP. Unless you plan on always looking for a auto (not many) or buying a large scooter as your next bike. Nothing wrong with that either. I’m vary partial to the balanced weight distribution of the KPR200

I’m 5’6” and I’m flat foot on this bike so depending on how long your legs are I would venture to say yes

How does it do on long distances?
I am riding this bike in my country for the last 4 years. did a lot of long-distance rides. it performs excellently. very dependable. this bike is very popular here in our country Bangladesh.
lets compare his 5 with the Hyosung gd250.
1. Hyosung is $2250 and is also 6 speed fuel injected.
2. Hyosung fuel mileage is also excellent.
3. Hyosung engine is 24 HP and revs to 10, 500RPM's Lifan is only 17 HP and revs out and 8,000 RPM's. Hyosung top speed is 10 MPH more but more importantly gets you there or any other speed much quicker.
4. Hyosung is 10 LBS. lighter.
5. N/A
Lifan is an OK product but Hyosung is way more reliable and far better quality. Just a couple of examples are the Hysung's aluminum swing arm compared to Lifan's steel offering. Hyosung's LCD dash, Trellis frame, hardware quality etc.
I can't think of one single thing the KP200 has over over the gd250.

Nice video, and thanks!! Old guy wanting to get a Lifan (in 8/2023) asking...is this a "lay-flat" seating bike, or an "upright"? That sweet-looking KPR model looks like a "racer", but in the vid you ride "upright". Not sure which I'd be more-comfortable with, for
I don't own one, but from the many videos I've seen, it has a more leaned forward riding position. The KPM200 has a standard upright riding position...same engine.
Also it seems this color combination is no longer available new. Only red/black and everything/black.
