sometimes the dead stuff on the lawn helps with providing nutrition as they decay. sometimes we need to bag our grass clippings, sometimes we leave them on the lawn. but yeah, too much of it turns to thatch and suffocates grass roots.
Have you seen any devices on the market yet for cleaning balconies, verandas etc? It’s similar to a regular robot vacuum but may come across larger things like leaves or twigs. The surface could be anything from brick or tile to timber

Yeah it’s the thatch I was referring to. Mulching is fine every so often, thatch is not… absolutely why my garden has looked much better this year!
