I've never seen a character with a beard before. It must be rare. Honestly, i hope character customization becomes a thing in State of Decay 3. With more variety and more distinct characters.
There is even an easier way....just change the map to standard after your done and boom you get to keep all the guns and you get to do it again...then when your done switch the map back to green. Then if you want after finding 50 or so guns you can start the game

Thanks to the guide, I found 2 Snowfox guns in a single run. I modified the run a little since I'm specifically looking for rares. The RTX Cyclone Tactical still continues to elude me though. If I were to do the run for rares and military grade weapons, my only adjustment to your route is to hit the rare loot crate in the crater pond after the military medic base since it is on the way to the second military base. Also because I'm looking for specific items, I ended up optimizing search speed by maxing stealth to remove likelihood of search crashes when searching at speed and shopping for slightly increased search speed instead of using backpacking and resourcefulness to optimize carrying capacity. Thank you for the guide.
OmGosh... They must have changed that, because in the beginning, it didn't matter if they were legacy or not. If you deleted the save.. they were gone...
If you lose your legacy survivors after deleting the existing community, all you need to do is go to the legacy pool in main menu and check if they are there. Then start a new game. They will show up in the selection

You could also check the trunk of the starter car first. Sometimes it will have a gas can or fuel rucksack in it. Don't know why, since the who shtick is that you ran out of gas so you are going to make your home on that map. Yet sometimes the car will have gas cans in the back.
I can't believe that as long as I've been playing I never noticed the exact working of that delete warning. Thanks for the tip; that alone was worth the watch and the rest was a bonus. I was like, "what is he doing, this isn't going to accomplish anything .... wait .... what ....DERP!"
Yeah, I just got this game and found it so bizarre. This game is set in the American mid-west by the looks of it (75% white on last census), but I didn't see a white male until near the end of my first game. I ended up setting myself a mission of finding one because they are ultra-rare. Starting my second run an NPC told me "When I was a girl I was good at sports and made a boy cry, so fuck your stereotypes." All I could think was "lady, you ARE a stereotype."
@@knightmare1267 Gaining access to a character model through a community editor tool doesn't make it modded. A modded character means they can't die, run out of stamina, get infected, or get injured.
Only thing about this (while I freaking love it) is that you have to make sure to remember who the hell has what lol. However I just realized you could pick 3 characters and drop whatever they had saved from old games and then just take them out and load up. Granted I would have to break out pen and paper to be like "Lisa has x y z" haha

Easiest way: make backup of your save game folder, add characters with rare guns, grenades, mods, books, whatever, make 3 copies of the same community, export any random character packed with stuff from your inventory to legacy. Now you have 3 characters packed with the best equipment, you can add them whenever you want, start a new game etc. You can use this method to endlessly multiply whatever you want (including survivors). It's actually super easy. I recommend you always have backup save games just in case.

Title should be best Solo farm tho as the best way to farm these rare guns, regular guns and echo guns is the Heartland map farm due to it's enormous military loot density, only downside to the hearltnad farm is it requires a friend or your second account to join at the end and pickup all the loot dropped on the ground.
I would add using the dlc spawns as well. Each new community gets access to several one-time free supply crates of rare of rare/special items and weapons (melee, guns, firework weapons, and vehicle drop offs). Honestly they can be a little broken but at the same time they have nerfed some of this. If you spawn in the Meat Wagon that's a free van at your location and if you bring a heavy vehicle upgrade kit on one of your legacy survivors then you have a Vandito right out the gate and can go hit up every secret weapons crate. Pick the Warlord and Trader boons for immediate weapon and renown stockpiles. You could also have one of the characters kitted for destroying plague hearts to nab their loot as well. A Red Talon character with the programer skill, a maxed communication center, and two cell tower outposts will have you able to drop a drone strike every 15 minutes (all paid for by the Trader boon).
Question: after i get all the loot that i need the only way i can get that stuff is if i call the legacy survivors whit 1200 influence or is there another way?

Should give it a try. I hate using dlc and anything not given at the beginning of the game. I've started lethal now and I'm kinda intrigued to even not use the builder boon on all 4 play throughs. It's very challenging and fun. Tbh if you're going to a higher difficulty then you aren't really giving yourself the credit you deserve by beating it with a buffer such as a red talon soldier or a preloaded inventory full of grenades
You can also if anything claim your base an then do the loot run put it in your locker an reset the map an then when your done have a friend grab what you want then bring it to your main community
I have used this method to winnow my legacy pool down from 50 about 5 times getting rid of more than 2x 5th skills, worthless hero bonuses, legacy types I play the least etc. And of course making speed runs through meagher valley in the burninator to farm gear of course.
And I always go south. Two medical tents, the island, and behind whitney field. Could do the flatbed outside of the fruit stand but its a melee weapon. Same with the valley pond.
the best gun imo in sod is the preppers AK-47 with the 150 round mag! i found one in the hillside camp in Trumball valley and bought one from a red talon trader. they're awesome for taking out plague hearts, hordes and juggernauts! you're gonna go thru a LOT of 7.62 ammo but it's worth it!!!
I need to know, where are the people getting the guns that every now and again will drop to you when you invite people in? Even with MODS and upgrades, I've never been able to make a gun have 1000 round capacity or kill a plague heart in one or two shots. Yet once in a great while someone will drop one after being invited in. Where and how are they getting these? And how do I get my hands on them?!
They use this thing called Community Editor to modify the guns in their save files. You can also give yourself DLC only weapons or beta weapons hidden from the loot tables.
@@BrianMenard I agree that it's highly likely mods but I would like to add that me and my friend play on xbox and we don't mod yet he found a scar that holds 1,040 rounds of 7.62 and is mainly modeled after the red talon variant, so it is possible to get but it's extremely rare
@@Bass_attack7755 as I stated, in most cases I would agree with you, but at the same time we also don't mod and we aren't too inclined with computers, on top of us playing exclusively on xbox makes it increasingly difficult to mod or tamper with save files which is why us finding it is perplexing us. We also only play with just me and him so no one comes in to drop anything, unless it was daybreak random but I doubt that.
Can you do a similar video on what guns to look out for while doing this? Maybe just your favorites for specific situations? Just getting started and jumped straight into Lethal. About to finish up my first legacy and it's not immediately obvious which weapons are better than others.
Just finished the game for the first time so I only have one legacy survivor. I’m currently on my second play through. Once I get my third legacy survivor I’ll do the speed run. Appreciate the video 💪🏾
So I'm confused, what's the point of grinding to find all these weapons when you're just going to lose them later, and if I'm wrong please explain to me how I keep them because I see it as pointless, and if I'm wrong, what do you do when everyone's inventory is full
use this run myself. well my variation. anyway. good stuff. but i noticed the lack of advanced suppressors attached to like the arctic warrior etc. interesting. i really feel we need a way better use of our legacy survivors

Ok so someone help me out. I've noticed that when filling characters with goodies before the end of a game. That when I start the new community they show up with all the goods. Which is awesome, but if I back out and start a new community and pull the same person in everything is gone except for what they have equipped. All other slots are empty. Is this intended? If so, how do I do these runs like this. Cause they'd just lose everything after I pull em in the 2nd time. I'm confused...
Cant wait for SoD3. I hope they flesh every system out to the max as well as relationships with communities and raiders with more human enemy threats. Wonder if we will be able to make camp as well while traveling.
I tried recently to go to those two under the bridge in Meager valley, which I used to be able to do. This last time i got the you are leaving the map message just halfway down the dry river bed.
Thank you for the video! So for the legacy survivors, do you have to delete the community early-on/before the first safehouse? I have some of my fav survivors on a playthrough I started but want to get them back in the pool to use elsewhere. I was going to set it to green zone and try to speed run it, but if I can load them up with gear then just delete the save and them safely return to the legacy pool that'd be awesome! (they were all legacy'd over from my first normal playthrough)
@@BrianMenard You gotta keep in mind though that they have to be alive when you delete it. I rage deleted a save of mind after losing one of my legacy survivors and I couldn't find them when starting a new save
I had an unbreakable asian guy who loved hong kong trivia with a ushanka hat... fkin cannibals got him man Now i only roll with heavily armed gunslinging unbreakables with the rtx full auto rifles i got 10 of them and one immortal all with the 5th skill free and they all slice heads off with one button. Theres very few situations they cant handle and thats purely because of the games npc mechanics which is massively better today compared to 4 years ago.
I basically farmed a bunch of stuff by playing SoD on standard first. As I got more confident, I bumped the difficulty every map I beat. It might not be ideal or fair to some. Maybe some wanna get the whole true grit experience. I wasn't trying to do this but I coincidentally did it and noticed it.
@@dridda9117 I'm doing my first ever straight up lethal run from beginning a few days ago and man its miserable. Everything is nearly looted. The thing that this game does thats cool is that things are where you assume they'd be in the real world. Gun shop guns, gas station gas etc. only problem is on lethal almost all those places are looted already making it super hard to get any decent loot. Well, I wanted to challenge myself to see if I could do it. You definitely can but its a miserable start beginning.
@@dridda9117 damn dude sorry to hear that. This is what sucks about these types of games with auto save. Manual save games you can always go back to the last save or another save. I dont blame anyone if they wanna stop playing the game after that. I played another game called Ark and the same thing happened. Luckily some people on reddit helped and showed me how to roll back the save on pc. You might be able to do that on SOD if you're on pc.

I've actually come back to this video because I had a question and I couldn't remember if it was mentioned, and it appears it wasn't. Would it be possible to have 3 legacy characters, start their "loot run" with "trader and warlord" boons active, so I can basically get free weapons at base, put them on my characters and delete the community so I can have some starter weapons for a NON-Warlord real community? And in regards to trader boon, could I use that, take the first base to get the 4k influence, build a trader post to call in traders, then spend the free influence on say: ammo presses? Then delete the community to give my next community ammo presses to start?
You start a game with them but if you already have a community you would need multiplayer or you can do this also with an active community but you will lose all your plague heart progress
But you can’t delete the group if you do it with a community you just have to refresh your map from the difficulty menu by switching you map to a different difficulty
They stay on your legacy survivors now transferring them into a current community that’s already started you would just have to trade them with a friend or something but whatever you put on your legacy survivors will always be there until you take it off them
loot military areas and police stations gun stores thats your best chance but if you call in a ammo trader with the trade depot they almost always have one
@@YTeradicant with every pack that comes out they will release some none bounty guns into loot with some of the best guns being loot able instead of from bounties
It’s a rare gun the only way to get it is by searching these containers a bunch until you find one or you can buy one sometimes from the mysterious wandering traders that show up on the weekends sometimes they will sell it
These are the videos that I miss. So much less stress trying to catch a live stream. Need to get back to your tutorials bruh, they are the bomb and we can focus on the video rather than random chat(s). And stop picking up barrels while driving.
once you finish giving the weapons,tools, ammo etc to the survivor you want to back into the legacy pool create a base then send the people into the legacy pool via community tab, then recruit a random survivor in the map switch to that survivor then send the last remaining legacy survivor back to the pool then you can delete the save file and they all keep their items hope this helps

I managed to get the modified Glock on a character with gunslinger, I walked through hordes like they weren't even there. It's an amazing gun.

Those are modded guns that people are using mods to get there not in the game normally

Yes you can just keep changing your map difficultly on you community and that will refresh your map over and over again

Thank you for the video! So for the legacy survivors, do you have to delete the community early-on/before the first safehouse? I have some of my fav survivors on a playthrough I started but want to get them back in the pool to use elsewhere. I was going to set it to green zone and try to speed run it, but if I can load them up with gear then just delete the save and them safely return to the legacy pool that'd be awesome! (they were all legacy'd over from my first normal playthrough)
no you can delete it at any point and they will go back

@@BrianMenard You gotta keep in mind though that they have to be alive when you delete it. I rage deleted a save of mind after losing one of my legacy survivors and I couldn't find them when starting a new save

Yes basically the same thing except that you need the trader boon plus legacy survivors, witch it works too
Can you just hit 2 rare weapons crates and the military trauma centre then reload the map ... and repeat
You could do that if you want I just like to increase my RNG with multiple crates per run but it’s up to you

Now i only roll with heavily armed gunslinging unbreakables with the rtx full auto rifles i got 10 of them and one immortal all with the 5th skill free and they all slice heads off with one button.
Theres very few situations they cant handle and thats purely because of the games npc mechanics which is massively better today compared to 4 years ago.
I basically farmed a bunch of stuff by playing SoD on standard first. As I got more confident, I bumped the difficulty every map I beat. It might not be ideal or fair to some. Maybe some wanna get the whole true grit experience. I wasn't trying to do this but I coincidentally did it and noticed it.

@@dridda9117 I'm doing my first ever straight up lethal run from beginning a few days ago and man its miserable. Everything is nearly looted.
The thing that this game does thats cool is that things are where you assume they'd be in the real world. Gun shop guns, gas station gas etc. only problem is on lethal almost all those places are looted already making it super hard to get any decent loot.
Well, I wanted to challenge myself to see if I could do it. You definitely can but its a miserable start beginning.

@@dridda9117 damn dude sorry to hear that. This is what sucks about these types of games with auto save. Manual save games you can always go back to the last save or another save.
I dont blame anyone if they wanna stop playing the game after that. I played another game called Ark and the same thing happened. Luckily some people on reddit helped and showed me how to roll back the save on pc.
You might be able to do that on SOD if you're on pc.

they are always there but easy to farm with legacy characters
@@BrianMenard nah i just checked the ease of a legacy char is negligable at best its easier to just start a new community run for a car and loot up only thing you'd need to do after that is have a buddy transfer it but thanks for putting me onto the method apreciate it.

I've actually come back to this video because I had a question and I couldn't remember if it was mentioned, and it appears it wasn't.
Would it be possible to have 3 legacy characters, start their "loot run" with "trader and warlord" boons active, so I can basically get free weapons at base, put them on my characters and delete the community so I can have some starter weapons for a NON-Warlord real community?
And in regards to trader boon, could I use that, take the first base to get the 4k influence, build a trader post to call in traders, then spend the free influence on say: ammo presses? Then delete the community to give my next community ammo presses to start?
Yes it works anything you put on them no matter how you get it stays on them

How do you get the loot off the legacy survivors i missed that part 😵💫
You start a game with them but if you already have a community you would need multiplayer or you can do this also with an active community but you will lose all your plague heart progress

But you can’t delete the group if you do it with a community you just have to refresh your map from the difficulty menu by switching you map to a different difficulty

no if anything higher difficulties penalize loot
How are you supposed to deposit the guns after you get them?
They stay on your legacy survivors now transferring them into a current community that’s already started you would just have to trade them with a friend or something but whatever you put on your legacy survivors will always be there until you take it off them
How do you find the 5.56/7.62 MOD its always hard to find
loot military areas and police stations gun stores thats your best chance but if you call in a ammo trader with the trade depot they almost always have one

@@YTeradicant with every pack that comes out they will release some none bounty guns into loot with some of the best guns being loot able instead of from bounties

It’s a rare gun the only way to get it is by searching these containers a bunch until you find one or you can buy one sometimes from the mysterious wandering traders that show up on the weekends sometimes they will sell it

Just play lethal zone and by the time you actually finish killing that many plague hearts, you'll have pretty much everything.
Hearts drop garbage for me now. It's the same few crappy common guns every time.

once you finish giving the weapons,tools, ammo etc to the survivor you want to back into the legacy pool create a base then send the people into the legacy pool via community tab, then recruit a random survivor in the map switch to that survivor then send the last remaining legacy survivor back to the pool then you can delete the save file and they all keep their items hope this helps
