Yes! Not only that but during the reunion, Lisa got to say everything she wanted and Riah didn't have a good chance to respond. It felt so unfinished that I couldn't give the rest of the reunion my full attention. That behavior was extremely disheartening

During the reunion they claimed cause all these couples got engaged it was 'a success'. I was shocked, most of these couples SHOULD NOT have gotten engaged but a damn couples therapist. Them trying to spin this as successful healthy couples not putting on a toxic bandaid was insane. Also love love island, so toxic but entertaining and still gives me some people to root for sometimes.
I’ve watched most of the seasons of Love Is Blind and I’m always saying to myself and anyone who will listen that Netflix needs to have therapists on standby. And I know the casts audition so they’re not really being forced into it but some of the drama and toxicity that they’re getting is just too much. I feel bad for most of these people.

I do know from some mutual friends that for the ultimatum they do offer them a year of free therapy after the show. As the seasons go by it got so drama focused that one of the couple therapists (degree and everything) left because she came to the realisation that the show runners don't actually care about the relationships working out (shocking I know)

Even if that hadn't been the case and her second thoughts were the honest ones, seeing somebody sing someone's praises in such an exaggerated way one minute and then crap on them the next with the same level of enthusiasm (especially when it's within the span of a few hours tops and not because of new information being presented) would be a sign that the person doesn't have good intentions behind what they're saying.

My only experience with this show was my last ex putting it on one random night a month or so into dating, and I’d made a few comments about some couples bc I personally wouldn’t force an ultimatum if they’ve only been dating 2 years, bc I (just for myself) wouldn’t even accept a proposal unless it’s 3 years in or so in general. Very offhanded, and very much in a “that’s cool for them but def not me” way, so he’d get the minor signal that if we made it a year in or two, I would not be asking for a ring at that point. Fast forward like 4 weeks later, he dumped me over being a fence sitter for kids once he realized I hadn’t lied about being unsure when I’d first discussed it with him before becoming official and making sure he knew what he was signing up for. He then started talking about his timeline and a need to get married within 1-2 years, and it was like a record scratch moment to when I’d directly also said no 1 year is too little time for me to make that next step lol but what fun entertainment value this is! I guess he just didn’t listen to me either time but meh. Anyways, that’s my experience with this show hahahahah

In my ethnicity/religion, people marry each other without even knowing each other that much, (no dating), and it geniunely is the reason marriage is out of the question for me, no way i'll marry someone who i have known for less than 3 years, let alone not knowing them at all. I want to be completely comfortable with them and know them to their core before committing to such a big thing like marriage. All in all, i think you dodged a bullet!
Depending upon the age of when you get together, I think even 5 years can be too soon. For example, my girlfriend and I have been dating since when I was 18 and her 17.5 years old. If she popped the question to me at 23, when I will be doing my masters, in my first year of living away from home, learning how to be an actual real adult and have literally 0 income + savings of my own, I'd freak the fuck out.

The "marriage" shows are the worst, this is basically the last two weeks of the bachelor, which is the worst, because it's like all or nothing. The beginning part is fun because dating around is naturally interesting! That is why Bachelor in Paradise was the single best realty tv show. All they did was date and fight and go on cooky dates. They could decide at the end to get engaged, leave as a couple or leave single and there would be no hard feelings. But dude you are seriously making me want to watch Love Island!! if you do another Love Island video I will give that show a try.
High School sweethearts is usually in some small town where the dude is a football player, the girl is a cheerleader. Dude only knows football and probably tried to go to college for it but now works in an office job, and she went to college to be a nurse or a teacher but will be expected to give up her lucrative career to be a homemaker once she has kids.
I watched all of SI, and the show reacts much more strongly than other dating shows do to contestants’ every little comment and movement. It really emphasized how each couple was getting together based on absolutely nothing 😭So I would love to see Dylan roast the heck out of that

Unfortunately a lot of guys are only taught by other men that sex is the goal and the only way to connect. If you think about how much porn and "self love" is promoted in the male universe, and how JOing a million times a day is "cool" compared to spending time talking about healthy relationships with people in general and how intimacy is much more than sex, there'd be way less toxic men and lonely men. Sex is great, but it shouldn't be the only way you connect with your partner. The little flirty intimacy doesn't have to lead to sex either, it could just be a "hey we're at a party and I love you" arm around a waist or holding hands or even a kiss on the cheek and an affectionate arm rub or back rub in passing.

Even if that hadn't been the case and her second thoughts were the honest ones, seeing somebody sing someone's praises in such an exaggerated way one minute and then crap on them the next with the same level of enthusiasm (especially when it's within the span of a few hours tops and not because of new information being presented) would be a sign that the person doesn't have good intentions behind what they're saying.

My only experience with this show was my last ex putting it on one random night a month or so into dating, and I’d made a few comments about some couples bc I personally wouldn’t force an ultimatum if they’ve only been dating 2 years, bc I (just for myself) wouldn’t even accept a proposal unless it’s 3 years in or so in general. Very offhanded, and very much in a “that’s cool for them but def not me” way, so he’d get the minor signal that if we made it a year in or two, I would not be asking for a ring at that point.
Fast forward like 4 weeks later, he dumped me over being a fence sitter for kids once he realized I hadn’t lied about being unsure when I’d first discussed it with him before becoming official and making sure he knew what he was signing up for. He then started talking about his timeline and a need to get married within 1-2 years, and it was like a record scratch moment to when I’d directly also said no 1 year is too little time for me to make that next step lol but what fun entertainment value this is! I guess he just didn’t listen to me either time but meh.
Anyways, that’s my experience with this show hahahahah

Damn yeah I have to agree with you, one year is not enough time to know if you are compatible or ready to get married. Better to just enjoy the time you spend together, live in the moment, and don’t put too much pressure on taking that step.

In my ethnicity/religion, people marry each other without even knowing each other that much, (no dating), and it geniunely is the reason marriage is out of the question for me, no way i'll marry someone who i have known for less than 3 years, let alone not knowing them at all. I want to be completely comfortable with them and know them to their core before committing to such a big thing like marriage. All in all, i think you dodged a bullet!
Depending upon the age of when you get together, I think even 5 years can be too soon. For example, my girlfriend and I have been dating since when I was 18 and her 17.5 years old. If she popped the question to me at 23, when I will be doing my masters, in my first year of living away from home, learning how to be an actual real adult and have literally 0 income + savings of my own, I'd freak the fuck out.

The "marriage" shows are the worst, this is basically the last two weeks of the bachelor, which is the worst, because it's like all or nothing. The beginning part is fun because dating around is naturally interesting! That is why Bachelor in Paradise was the single best realty tv show. All they did was date and fight and go on cooky dates. They could decide at the end to get engaged, leave as a couple or leave single and there would be no hard feelings. But dude you are seriously making me want to watch Love Island!! if you do another Love Island video I will give that show a try.

Dude only knows football and probably tried to go to college for it but now works in an office job, and she went to college to be a nurse or a teacher but will be expected to give up her lucrative career to be a homemaker once she has kids.

I watched all of SI, and the show reacts much more strongly than other dating shows do to contestants’ every little comment and movement. It really emphasized how each couple was getting together based on absolutely nothing 😭So I would love to see Dylan roast the heck out of that

Unfortunately a lot of guys are only taught by other men that sex is the goal and the only way to connect. If you think about how much porn and "self love" is promoted in the male universe, and how JOing a million times a day is "cool" compared to spending time talking about healthy relationships with people in general and how intimacy is much more than sex, there'd be way less toxic men and lonely men. Sex is great, but it shouldn't be the only way you connect with your partner. The little flirty intimacy doesn't have to lead to sex either, it could just be a "hey we're at a party and I love you" arm around a waist or holding hands or even a kiss on the cheek and an affectionate arm rub or back rub in passing.

A lack of intimacy has been one of the main reasons I checked out in relationships and seems to be the case for a lot of women. As one of the ladies said in the show “I know how to please him but he doesn’t know how to please me”. Often times the guys in these relationships don’t even listen to feedback their partner gives them; ways to improve or things they like/don’t like. I think it’s why many good women are now opting for single life, nurturing friendships and sex toys 😄
